QoS-Based Beamforming and Compression Design for Cooperative Cellular Networks via Lagrangian Duality

This paper considers the quality-of-service (QoS)-based joint beamforming and compression design problem in the downlink cooperative cellular network, where multiple relay-like base stations (BSs), connected to the central processor via ratelimited fronthaul links, cooperatively transmit messages to the users. The problem of interest is formulated as the minimization of the total transmit power of the BSs, subject to all users' signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) constraints and all BSs' fronthaul rate constraints. In this paper, we first show that there is no duality gap between the considered joint optimization problem and its Lagrangian dual by showing the tightness of its semidefinite relaxation (SDR). Then, we propose an efficient algorithm based on the above duality result for solving the considered problem. The proposed algorithm judiciously exploits the special structure of an enhanced Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions of the considered problem and approaches the solution that satisfies the enhanced KKT conditions via two fixed point iterations. Two key features of the proposed algorithm are: (1) it is able to detect whether the considered problem is feasible or not and find its globally optimal solution when it is feasible;(2) it is highly efficient because both of the fixed point iterations in the proposed algorithm are linearly convergent and function evaluations in the fixed point iterations are computationally cheap. Numerical results show the global optimality and efficiency of the proposed algorithm. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Across all industries, cloud-based automated control systems have completely changed how operational and environmental parameters are tracked and controlled. With cloud-integrated systems for real-time data collection, processing, and control, this concept presents intelligent, remote-controlled workshops and control rooms. To guarantee accurate control of crucial variables like temperature, humidity, pressure, and equipment efficiency, these systems make use of IoT devices, AI techniques, and big data analytics. Through sophisticated data perspectives, the cloud-based strategy enables predictive maintenance, improves flexibility, and lowers operating expenses. Stakeholders may make prompt, data-driven choices from anywhere with remote access to control rooms. These seminars provide practical experience with cloud-controlled settings and function as training and development centres. The system's flexibility to meet a range of industrial demands is further enhanced by its compatibility with external tools and equipment. The design, deployment, and possible uses of cloud-based control systems are covered in this paper, with an emphasis on how they might promote operational excellence, energy efficiency, and smart manufacturing. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper, we study measures arising as a result of the Choquet integration with respect to a particular class of measures. The initial insight is provided with several classes of additive and fuzzy measures. It can be seen that some classes are closed regarding the integration, e.g. probabilities, while some are not, such as distorted Lebesgue measures. Knowing both an integration measure and a resulting measure after the Choquet integration directly leads to a fuzzy analogue of the Radon-Nikodym derivatives. For them, a completely different possible approach to their existence is presented for a specific pair of measures. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

In today's scenario, as the internet expands at a faster pace, the number of data consumers also increases at an exponential rate. As the range and number of users increased, a change from traditional homogeneous networks to heterogeneous networks is in demand. However, heterogeneous networks' primary focus is to give a higher quality of service criteria to users. Furthermore, in a heterogeneous network enabled by unmanned aerial vehicles, a large number of users and devices are active. In such a diverse environment, intruder nodes may efficiently operate and transmit numerous harmful actions throughout the network. As a result, the network's entire communication is open to many types of security threats. Therefore, to secure the communication, we used the functional encryption scheme, which allows us to protect the data against intrusion attacks. The whole procedure of establishing a functional encryption scheme in unmanned aerial vehicles integrated heterogeneous network is proposed in this study in two phases: the first phase between user equipment and micro base station, and the second phase between micro base station and unmanned aerial vehicles. The proposed approach is validated using the simulation tool namely Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications. In this study,a completely different approach to optimization is introduced through the development of a novel metaheuristic algorithm called the Barber Optimization Algorithm(BaOA).Inspired by the human interactions between barbers and customers,BaOA captures two key processes:the customer’s selection of a hairstyle and the detailed refinement during the *** processes are translated into a mathematical framework that forms the foundation of BaOA,consisting of two critical phases:exploration,representing the creative selection process,and exploitation,which focuses on refining details for *** performance of BaOA is evaluated using 52 standard benchmark functions,including unimodal,high-dimensional multimodal,fixed-dimensional multimodal,and the Congress on Evolutionary Computation(CEC)2017 test *** comprehensive assessment highlights BaOA’s ability to balance exploration and exploitation effectively,resulting in high-quality solutions.A comparative analysis against twelve widely known metaheuristic algorithms further demonstrates BaOA’s superior performance,as it consistently delivers better results across most benchmark *** validate its real-world applicability,BaOA is tested on four engineering design problems,illustrating its capability to address practical challenges with remarkable *** results confirm BaOA’s versatility and reliability as an optimization *** study not only introduces an innovative algorithm but also establishes its effectiveness in solving complex problems,providing a foundation for future research and applications in diverse scientific and engineering domains.

Improvements in patient care and early disease detection possibilities are two of the ways artificial intelligence is transforming the healthcare industry. Alzheimer's disease, a neurodegenerative disease that worsens with time, is among the most difficult diseases to exactly identify in early stages. Patients thus delay in treatment and experience a decline in their quality of life. Research is still under progress, thus knowledge about how AI-driven prediction models could be combined with readily available healthcare services remains lacking. This work presents a special artificial intelligence-powered system consisting of DenseNet-based deep learning for Alzheimer's disease prediction with an online consultation platform. The proposed approach analyzes brain MRI data and classifies Alzheimer's stages with higher accuracy using a DenseNet architecture, well-known for its exceptional performance in the field of feature extraction. Comprising three thousand magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images, the dataset has been preprocessed for noise reduction and tuned for models performance. At 98.5%, the DenseNet model exceeded other methods including VGGNet and ResNet in accuracy. © 2025 IEEE.

An exciting new direction in plant categorization and identification is the use of machine learning techniques for medicinal plant detection. Using a variety of photo datasets containing medicinal plants, this technique trains models using ANNs. The ML model learns the complex traits that distinguish various plant species by using data from pre-trained models or by developing bespoke architectures. Thanks to the trained model’s precision in visually recognizing therapeutic plants, everyone from researchers to ecologists can reap the benefits. Methods for medicinal plant identification that are both accurate and objective are crucial to biodiversity research and attempts to safeguard resources. Considerations of ethics, model calibration, and data curation should be incorporated into the construction of such systems. Gather any and all images of plants used for medical purposes. Deep Learning-Augmented Evolutionary Strategies for Intelligent Global Optimization

This paper introduces the Susceptible-Infected-Removed Optimizer (SIRO), a novel learned heuristic inspired by biological systems and deep learning techniques. SIRO models its search process after the SIR epidemiological compartmental model, predicting the susceptibility, infection, and recovery dynamics of solutions. SIRO integrates deep learning into its initialization and parameter setting to enhance its efficiency, enabling intelligent and adaptive behavior. This hybridization improves solution quality, accelerates convergence, enhances robustness, and reduces computational costs. The algorithm’s performance was evaluated using CEC 2017 benchmark functions, demonstrating superior results in hybrid functions (C1-C28) despite moderate performance on traditional CEC1-CEC14 functions. Friedman’s test ranked SIRO 4th overall, with SSA as the top-performing algorithm. Additionally, SIRO was tested on real-world optimization problems, including mechanical engineering design, hyperparameter tuning, and feature selection for medical image classification. In the classification task, SIRO-enhanced CNN achieved an accuracy of 0.86 at the 5th epoch, outperforming CNN (0.66), CNN-GA (0.76), and CNN-WOA (0.75). Furthermore, SIRO reported a precision of 0.96, recall of 1.0, and F1-score of 0.98, highlighting its effectiveness. These results validate the benefits of integrating a learning mechanism into SIRO, yielding superior precision, computational efficiency, and performance over conventional optimization approaches. © 2013 IEEE.

Spacecraft pose estimation is an essential contribution to facilitating central space mission activities like autonomous navigation, rendezvous, docking, and on-orbit servicing. Nonetheless, methods like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), and Particle Filtering suffer significant drawbacks when implemented in space. Such techniques tend to have high computational complexity, low domain generalization capacity for varied or unknown conditions (domain generalization problem), and accuracy loss with noise from the space environment causes such as fluctuating lighting, sensor limitations, and background interference. In order to overcome these challenges, this study suggests a new solution through the combination of a Dual-Channel Transformer Network with Bayesian Optimization methods. The innovation is at the center with the utilization of EfficientNet, augmented with squeeze-and-excitation attention modules, to extract feature-rich representations without sacrificing computational efficiency. The dual-channel architecture dissects satellite pose estimation into two dedicated streams—translational data prediction and orientation estimation via quaternion-based activation functions for rotational precision. Activation maps are transformed into transformer-compatible sequences via 1×1 convolutions, allowing successful learning in the transformer's encoder-decoder system. To maximize model performance, Bayesian Optimization with Gaussian Process Regression and the Upper Confidence Bound (UCB) acquisition function makes the optimal hyperparameter selection with fewer queries, conserving time and resources. This entire framework, used here in Python and verified with the SLAB Satellite Pose Estimation Challenge dataset, had an outstanding Mean IOU of 0.9610, reflecting higher accuracy compared to standard models.
