Nowadays, in order to solve the problem of information sharing in heterogeneous systems, federated database is a mature solution. However, the distributed database system also faces many performance bottlenecks. For example, a large amount of data is queried case, and the network transmission cost of data between nodes greatly affects the efficiency of the query. Therefore, how to improve the efficiency of distributed query becomes a problem that needs to be solved. This paper presents a query optimization method based on computational push-down for join query in federated database. The method select a proper query optimization policy based on global statistics, reducing the amount of data transmitted between nodes and greatly improving query efficiency.

Graphs, as fundamental data structures, are indispensable for delineating intricate interrelations among entities, exhibiting utility across diverse domains within the realm of the information society. Traversal algorithms, including the pivotal breadth-first search, are keystones in the realm of graph theory, constituting essential elements within broader algorithmic frameworks. With the expansion of graph scale, the imperative for expedient processing of graph data becomes increasingly pronounced. This paper aims to meticulously examine the execution efficiency of three distinct breadth-first traversal methodologies across varying node magnitudes: the traditional queue-based sequential approach, CPU parallelization leveraging OPENMP and GPU parallelization harnessing CUDA. Each method possesses its distinctive array of advantages and disadvantages contingent upon the scale of nodes. Moreover, this study aims to delve into the nuanced effect of thread count on the efficacy of OPENMP-based CPU parallel traversal, elucidating an inversely proportional relationship in scenarios with fewer nodes. Finally, we investigate the influence of graph sparsity on the traversal methodologies, acknowledging its pivotal role in connectivity and traversal time.

The multi-wavelength optical switch based on an all-dielectric metastructure consisting of four asymmetric semi-circular rings was designed and analyzed in this *** Fano resonance modes,which can be explained by bound states in the continuum(BIC)theory,are excited in our structure with a maximum Q-factor of about 2450 and a modulation depth close to 100%.By changing the polarization direction of the incident light,the transmission amplitude of Fano resonances can get effectively *** on this tuning property,the metastructure can achieve a multi-wavelength optical switch in the near-infrared region(900—980 nm)and the maximum extinction ratio can reach 38.3 d *** addition,the results indicate that the Fano resonances are sensitive to the changes in the refractive *** sensitivity(S)and the figure of merit(FOM)are 197 nm/RIU and 492 *** proposed metastructure has promising potential in applications such as optical switches,sensors,modulators and lasers.

Aiming at the problem that the current program change impact analysis methods have coarse calculation granularity and without considering the actual situation of program change, results in overstating the impact propagation range and inability to quantify the degree of change impact, this paper proposes a program change impact analysis method based on the software network. Firstly, by combining the complex network theory to characterize the structural attributes and evolution patterns of software system, we abstract the software network morphology of system; Secondly, basing on the type of program change and the actual propagation of change impacts, two concepts of impact propagation decay rate and minimum threshold for impact marking are introduced to construct the simulation sub-model of impact propagation processes, enabling the analysis of the propagation range of program impacts; Thirdly, according to the structural properties of software network and the intrinsic attributes of nodes, the ripple degree simulation sub-model is constructed, and five quantization factors of the node's influenced degree are given to complete the quantitative assignment of the node's influenced degree; Finally, several open source software is used for application verification. Experimental results show that the proposed method aligns with reality in analyzing the propagation range of program change impacts, thus scientifically and reasonably reflecting the ripple effects of change impacts within the software system. At the same time, the method accurately and effectively quantifies the impact of program changes on other parts, thereby providing theoretical support for change impact analysis in software engineering.

Depression has emerged as a significant public health concern globally, with diagnosis often hindered by subjective biases and a lack of objective assessment methods. This paper introduces a novel approach utilizing resting-state EEG data to facilitate the auxiliary diagnosis of depression through deep learning models. Initially, the EEG data from the MODMA public dataset at Lanzhou University were processed to extract clean signals, employing techniques such as Fourier Transform to delineate power spectra across key frequency bands-beta, theta, gamma. These spectra provided the basis for creating spatial brain maps, integrating both frequency and spatial data for enhanced diagnostic accuracy. Subsequently, a EST-ConvLSTM model were developed to analyze these brain maps, extracting temporal and spatial features essential for identifying depressive states. The models demonstrated robust performance, with the EST-ConvLSTM model achieving a classification accuracy of 74.66% on a public dataset, validated against established metrics including ROC curves and AUC values. The network had less complexity with only five layers. The findings underscore the potential of integrating EEG signals with advanced neural network architectures to improve the objectivity and efficacy of depression diagnostics, paving the way for more reliable and accessible mental health assessments. © 2024 IEEE.

With the development of robot technology, automatic assembly technology based on industrial robots has been greatly applied. Considering the high-precision automatic grasping of heterogeneous products, robot grasping detection technology is put forward. Although the current method of using camera is relatively mature, it is greatly affected by the ambient light and the surface material of the object, resulting in the limited versatility. Since the 3D structured light method based on the laser scanning galvanometer has the characteristics of high speed and high accuracy, strong environmental adaptability and weak influence by the surface material of the object, the structured light equipment using laser scanning galvanometer was installed at the end of the robot to realize the grasping detection of the products. Through hand eye calibration, point cloud acquisition, point cloud processing, point cloud matching and other links, the point cloud collection and accurate matching of local features are realized. The experiment shows that the grasping detection accuracy is less than 0.32mm. It can not only achieve accurate grasping of different products, but also has the characteristics of strong adaptability to surface materials, environmental lighting, and high accuracy. © 2022 SPIE.

The neutron capture cross sections(n,γ)of bromine were obtained using the time-of-flight technique at the Back-n facility of the china Spallation Neutron ***γ-rays originating from neutron-induced capture events were detected using four C_(6)D_(6) *** pulse-height weighting technique and double-bunch unfolding method based on Bayesian theory were used in the data *** deductions,normalization,and corrections were carefully considered to obtain reliable measurement *** multilevel R-matrix Bayesian code SAMMY was used to extract the resonance parameters in the resolved resonance region(RRR).The average cross sections in the unresolved resonance region(URR)were obtained from 10 to 400 *** experimental results were compared with data from several evaluated libraries and previous experi-ments in the RRR and *** TALYS code was used to describe the average cross sections in the *** astrophysical Maxwell average cross sections(MACSs)of ^(79,81)Br from kT=5 to 100 keV were calculated over a sufficiently wide range of neutron *** a thermal energy of kT=30 keV,the MACS value for ^(79)Br 682±68 mb was in good agreement with the KADoNiS v1.0 recommended *** contrast,the value of 293±29 mb for ^(81)Br was substantially higher than that of the evaluated database and the KADoNiS v1.0 recommended value.

COMBINING physics-INFORMED GRAPH NEURAL NETWORK AND FINITE DIFFERENCE FOR SOLVING FORWARD AND INVERSE SPATIOTEMPORAL PDES

The great success of physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINN) in solving partial differential equations (PDEs) has significantly advanced our simulation and understanding of complex physical systems in science and engineering. However, many PINN-like methods are poorly scalable and are limited to in-sample scenarios. To address these challenges, this work proposes a novel discrete approach termed physics-Informed Graph Neural Network (PIGNN) to solve forward and inverse nonlinear PDEs. In particular, our approach seamlessly integrates the strength of graph neural networks (GNN), physical equations and finite difference to approximate solutions of physical systems. Our approach is compared with the PINN baseline on three well-known nonlinear PDEs (heat, Burgers and FitzHugh-Nagumo). We demonstrate the excellent performance of the proposed method to work with irregular meshes, longer time steps, arbitrary spatial resolutions, varying initial conditions (ICs) and boundary conditions (BCs) by conducting extensive numerical experiments. Numerical results also illustrate the superiority of our approach in terms of accuracy, time extrapolability, generalizability and scalability. The main advantage of our approach is that models trained in small domains with simple settings have excellent fitting capabilities and can be directly applied to more complex situations in large domains. Protein-protein interactions are of great significance for human to understand the functional mechanisms of *** the rapid development of high-throughput genomic technologies,massive protein-protein interaction(PPI)data have been generated,making it very difficult to analyze them *** address this problem,this paper presents a distributed framework by reimplementing one of state-of-the-art algorithms,i.e.,CoFex,using *** do so,an in-depth analysis of its limitations is conducted from the perspectives of efficiency and memory consumption when applying it for large-scale PPI data analysis and *** solutions are then devised to overcome these *** particular,we adopt a novel tree-based data structure to reduce the heavy memory consumption caused by the huge sequence information of *** that,its procedure is modified by following the MapReduce framework to take the prediction task distributively.A series of extensive experiments have been conducted to evaluate the performance of our framework in terms of both efficiency and *** results well demonstrate that the proposed framework can considerably improve its computational efficiency by more than two orders of magnitude while retaining the same high accuracy.

Intruder trajectory tracking in a three-dimensional vibration-driven granular system:Unveiling the mechanism of the Brazil nut effect

We employ a Hall-effect magnetic sensor array to accurately track the trajectory of a single magnetic sphere,referred to as the“intruder,”within a three-dimensional vibro-fluidized granular bed to unravel the underlying physical mechanism governing the motion of the *** the acceleration range of 3.5 g≥Γ≥1.5 g,we find that,regardless of the intruder's initial position,it consistently reaches the same equilibrium depth when the vibration acceleration(Γ)and frequency(ω)are ***Γ≤2.5 g,the equilibrium position lies on the surface of the granular bed,while forΓ>2.5 g,it shifts below the ***,intruders with different densities exhibit varying equilibrium depths,with higher density resulting in a deeper equilibrium *** understand the mechanism behind the intruder's upward or downward motion,we measure its rising or sinking velocities under different vibration *** findings demonstrate that the rising velocity of the intruder,under varying vibration accelerations(Γ)and frequencies(ω),can be collapsed using the ratioΓ/ω,while the sinking velocity remains unaffected by the vibration *** confirms that the upward motion of the larger sphere,associated with the Brazil nut effect,primarily arises from the void-filling mechanism of the bed ***,our experiments reveal that the presence of convection within the bed particles has minimal impact on the motion of the intruder.
