System-Level Test (SLT) emerged as an additional test step to detect manufacturing defects not caught by traditional testing. For SLT, the Device Under Test (DUT) is embedded into an environment that emulates the end-user application as closely as possible and runs workloads composed of existing off-the-shelf software. We present an automatic greybox SLT program generation method to find code snippets that control the DUT’s extra-functional properties, to achieve better characterization, or to improve the coverage of emerging defect types. In contrast to ATPG or formal methods, our method does not require structural information and relies solely on simulation results or hardware measurements to guide the generation. We show that our method outperforms hand-crafted snippets on a RISC-V super-scalar processor and look into possible reasons why the snippets perform the way they do.

Text-guided diverse-expression diffusion model for molecule generation

The task of molecule generation guided by specific text descriptions has been proposed to generate molecules that match given text inputs. Mainstream methods typically use simplified molecular input line entry system(SMILES) to represent molecules and rely on diffusion models or autoregressive structures for modeling. However, the one-to-many mapping diversity when using SMILES to represent molecules causes existing methods to require complex model architectures and larger training datasets to improve performance, which affects the efficiency of model training and generation. In this paper, we propose a text-guided diverse-expression diffusion(TGDD) model for molecule generation. TGDD combines both SMILES and self-referencing embedded strings(SELFIES) into a novel diverse-expression molecular representation, enabling precise molecule mapping based on natural language. By leveraging this diverse-expression representation, TGDD simplifies the segmented diffusion generation process, achieving faster training and reduced memory consumption, while also exhibiting stronger alignment with natural language. TGDD outperforms both TGM-LDM and the autoregressive model MolT5-Base on most evaluation metrics.

Offshore wind turbines have become an increasingly attractive source of renewable energy because of their potential to access and utilize energy from deeper waters with more stable, stronger winds. The goal of this paper is to propose a mathematical model based on transfer functions to identify and study the behavior of the six degrees of freedom of floating turbines. For this purpose, the system has been simulated with OpenFAST for specific environmental conditions. A subset of data has been used to identify transfer functions to obtain a control-oriented model. The model has been progressively validated, extending the preliminary proposed model. The scope and limitations of this methodology have been assessed, as well as the possibilities of extending the present work to include a more functional methodology oriented to system co-design. © 2023, European Association for the Development of Renewable Energy, Environment and Power Quality (EA4EPQ). Memristive crossbars are attractive for in-memory computing due to their integration density combined with compute and storage capabilities of their basic devices. However, yield and fidelity of emerging memristive technologies can make their reliable operation unattainable, thus raising interest in simpler topologies. In this paper, we consider synthesis of Boolean functions on 1D memristive line arrays. We propose an optimal procedure that can fully utilize the rich electrical behavior of memristive devices, mixing stateful (resistance-input) and non-stateful (voltage-input) operations as desired by the designer, leveraging their respective strengths. The synthesis method is based on Boolean satisfiability (SAT) solving and supports flexible constraints to enforce, e.g., restrictions of the available peripher-als. We experimentally validate memristive logic circuits beyond individual logic gates by demonstrating the operation of a Galois field multiplier using a 1D line array of 10 memristors in parallel, highlighting the robust performance of our proposed mixed-mode circuit and its synthesis procedure. © 2025 EDAA.

The increasing demand for programmers has led to a surge in participants in programming courses, making it increasingly challenging for instructors to assess student code manually. As a result, automated programming assessment systems (APASs) have been developed to streamline this process. These APASs support lecturers by managing and evaluating student programming exercises at scale. However, these tools often do not provide feature-rich online editors compared to their traditional integrated development environments (IDEs) counterparts. This absence of key features, such as syntax highlighting and autocompletion, can negatively impact the learning experience, as these tools are crucial for effective coding practice. To address this gap, this research contributes to the field of programming education by extracting and defining requirements for an online IDE in an educational context and presenting a prototypical implementation of an open-source solution for a scalable and secure online IDE. The usability of the new online IDE was assessed using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), gathering feedback from 27 first-year students through a structured survey. In addition to these qualitative insights, quantitative measures such as memory (RAM) usage were evaluated to determine the efficiency and scalability of the tool under varying usage conditions. The emerging technology of quantum computing has the potential to change the way how problems will be solved in the future. This work presents a centralized network control algorithm executable on already existing quantum computer which are based on the principle of quantum annealing like the D-Wave Advantage™. We introduce a resource reoccupation algorithm for traffic engineering in wide-area networks. The proposed optimization algorithm changes traffic steering and resource allocation in case of overloaded transceivers. Settings of active components like fiber amplifiers and transceivers are not changed for the reason of stability. This algorithm is beneficial in situations when the network traffic is fluctuating in time scales of seconds or spontaneous bursts occur. Further, we developed a discrete-time flow simulator to study the algorithm’s performance in wide-area networks. Our network simulator considers backlog and loss modeling of buffered transmission lines. Concurring flows are handled equally in case of a backlog. This work provides an ILP-based network configuring algorithm that is applicable on quantum annealing computers. We showcase, that traffic losses can be reduced significantly by a factor of 2 if a resource reoccupation algorithm is applied in a network with bursty traffic. As resources are used more efficiently by reoccupation in heavy load situations, overprovisioning of networks can be reduced. Thus, this new form of network operation leads toward a zero-margin network. We show that our newly introduced network simulator enables analyses of short-time effects like buffering within fat-pipe networks. As the calculation of network configurations in real-sized networks is typically time-consuming, quantum computing can enable the proposed network configuration algorithm for application in realsized wide-area networks.
