Topic Model is one of the important subfields in Data Mining, which has been developed very quickly and has been applicated in many fields in recent years. Many researchers have been engaged in this field. In this paper, we introduce the BNB process based on Beta and Negative Binomial distribution, using the hierarchical distribution instead of Dirichlet in LDA. And we give the expression of parameter estimation used by Gibbs sampling. Then, BNB process is applicated in the text topic classification. We design experiments to decide the numbers of topics and compare the BNB process with LDA. Experiment results show that the BNB process has better performance over LDA in English Dataset, but they have almost the same result in Chinese micro-blog topic classification. Finally we analyze the problem and give the idea in further research. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The rapid growth of data volume brings big challenges to the data center computing, and energy efficiency is one of the most concerned problems. Researchers from various fields are now proposing solutions to green the data center operations. Power usage effectiveness metric plays an important role in the energy saving research. However, the exising usage effectiveness metrics focus on measuring the relationship between the total facility energy consumed and the IT equipment energy consumed, without reflecting the energy efficiency of applications. In this paper, we analyze the requirements of application-level metrics for power usage efficiency of the data centers, and propose two novel energy efficiency metrics to provide strong guidance and useful insight to data center design and optimization. © 2013 IEEE.

Based on nonlinear finite element method (FEM), the effect of back berm has been systematically studied. It is found that the lateral displacement of embankment could be reduced by back berm effectively, and the stability of embankment increased rapidly with the width of back berm enlarged. There is a critical value of width of back berm, that the stability of embankment is no more increased with the width of back berm enlarged than critical value. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The volume of the published scientific literature available on Internet has been increasing exponentially. Many projects have been funded aiming to online scientific literature mining, especially in biomedical research. The scientific literature covers most of the hot topics in the research field and has a very large domain-specific vocabulary. The exploitation of domain knowledge and specialized vocabulary can dramatically improve the result of the literature text processing. In this paper, a large-scale annotated corpus was built from abstract content in the IT security literature, from which the domain vocabularies were constructed with TF/IDF-like schema. To evaluate the discriminating capability between single word vocabulary and co-occurrence phrase vocabularies built respectively from positive and negative corpus, this paper introduced the concept of discrimination index computed by Cosine similarity and Jicard distance, presented a yearly distribution analysis of the retrieved paper and listed some new emerging bilexical co-occurrence phrases. The experimental result shows the effectiveness of domain vocabulary in discriminating domain-specific documents. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

This paper first introduces the SIMD (single instruction multiple data) extension technology and presents three ways to use SIMD instructions. It is considered that calling the third party library, which is optimized for the target platform by using those instructions, is the best way to benefit the developers. Next, it introduces the China-developed SW-1600 CPU, and a software package called SW-VML, which consists of many mathematical functions, by using the SIMD extension technology. In order to solve the additional overhead caused by unaligned address access and transformation between vector and scalar array, the paper provides some performance optimized methods, such as aligned address access, simplifying vector condition branch and loop unrolling. An upgrade to SW-VML is also offered to support multi-thread with OpenMP. Finally, functions in the package are tested using arrays of different sizes on SW-1600, and the test results show that high performance is achieved with the technology of the SIMD vectorization. Compared with the traditional methods of the scalar calculation, the average speedup is up to 2.06. The performance speedup of package using 4 threads is up to 2.26 compared to using a single thread. SW-VML is a common vector function package for domestic Sunway processor series, and it can be used as a basic toolkit which is beneficial to high performance computing on Sunway platform. ©2014 ISCAS.

State Key Laboratory for GeoMechanics and Deep Underground Engineering, Deep-Lab for short, has been committed to the study of rock burst. Deep-Lab accumulated a large number of rock-burst data. With the deepening of the research progress, massive-data dilemma, artificial-management-data dilemma and experimental-data-analysis dilemma have become three big problems of rock burst. These dilemmas restrict the development of rock burst research technologies. This article takes big data in rock burst experiment as research objects and innovatively introduces big data technology into rock burst. Digital features of rock-burst experimental data were extracted. On this basis, a big data based data storage systems for rock burst experiment, BDSS for short, was designed and built. Then an integrated rock burst experimental platform was constructed. Experiments show that, BDSS solves three dilemmas of rock burst, and realises the distributed storage system of data. BDSS also realises dynamic and efficient load of rock-burst big data, and its efficient query under complication conditions. Copyright © 2013 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Efficient Handling of Lock Hand-off in DSM Multiprocessors with Buffering Coherence Controllers

Synchronization in parallel programs is a major performance bottleneck in multiprocessor systems. Shared data is protected by locks and a lot of time is spent on the competition arising at the lock hand-off. In order to be serialized, requests to the same cache line can either be bounced （NACKed） or buffered in the coherence controller. In this paper, we focus mainly on systems whose coherence controllers buffer requests. In a lock hand-off, a burst of requests to the same line arrive at the coherence controller. During lock hand-off only the requests from the winning processor contribute to progress of the computation, since the winning processor is the only one that will advance the work. This key observation leads us to propose a hardware mechanism we call request bypassing, which allows requests from the winning processor to bypass the requests buffered in the coherence controller keeping the lock line. We present an inexpensive implementation of request bypassing that reduces the time spent on all the execution phases of a critical section （acquiring the lock, accessing shared data, and releasing the lock） and which, as a consequence, speeds up the whole parallel computation. This mechanism requires neither compiler or programmer support nor ISA or coherence protocol changes. By simulating a 32-processor system, we show that using request bypassing does not degrade but rather improves performance in three applications with low synchronization rates, while in those having a large amount of synchronization activity （the remaining four）, we see reductions in execution time and in lock stall time ranging from 14% to 39% and from 52% to 7170, respectively. We compare request bypassing with a previously proposed technique called read combining and with a system that bounces requests, observing a significantly lower execution time with the bypassing scheme. Finally, we analyze the sensitivity of our results to some key hardware and software parameters.

Wireless mesh networks is a new type of broadband access network. It has very typical network architecture of hybrid mesh network architecture. As wireless mesh network with distributed network architecture, it is relatively fragile and vulnerable to attack. In this paper, we first analyze the characters of hybrid mesh network architecture. The security weaknesses of WMNs mainly reflected in the transmission channel, authentication, physical protection and routing protocols. On the basis of analysis of security defects of WMNs, we design a cross-layer security framework to improve the security of WMNs. At last, we interpret some key Technologies in this security Framework. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH.

A measurement of the Higgs boson mass is presented based on the combined data samples of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in the H→γγ and H→ZZ→4ℓ decay channels. The results are obtained from a simultaneous fit to the reconstructed invariant mass peaks in the two channels and for the two experiments. The measured masses from the individual channels and the two experiments are found to be consistent among themselves. The combined measured mass of the Higgs boson is mH=125.09±0.21 (stat)±0.11 (syst) GeV.

Image Retrieval in Data Stream is becoming very important in recent years with the development of internet and the focus on information security. In Data Stream, image retrieval is different from the traditional image retrieval in that, it requires high efficiency and network adaptive ability, while the traditional image retrieval does not have such hard requirements. In this paper, we propose a novel approach to retrieval image in data stream using Principle Component Analysis(PCA). By subdividing image into several blocks and extracting image principle features, our method can retrieval image very efficiently, this meets the needs of wide band width network traffic. Because the natural character of PCA, our method can be adaptive to the network traffic by simply modify a few parameters by an automatic way. Our experiments show that our approach has high Recall Rate and very low False Positive Rate. © 2012 IEEE.
