This paper describes the approach to information sharing being adopted by Synapses, a pan-European project funded under the EU Health Telematics Programme. The emphasis in Synapses is on developing standards to enable sharing, in whole or in part, of electronic healthcare records between distributed healthcare providers and institutions. The current technological solutions available for data sharing, including federated database systems, gateways, data warehousing, messaging and the web are insufficient on their own to meet the needs of Synapses. Thus in Synapses several different, bur complementary technologies are merged in an open, distributed object-oriented environment. Furthermore, in order to safeguard the legal, ethical and clinical integrity of the record, it is essential not only to preserve the meaning of the data being transferred, but also its context and structure. Synapses solves this problem by defining a standard architecture for the federated electronic healthcare record.

This paper presents a novel method of modeling spatial communication activity in wireless sensor network (WSN). We define native aspects of communication in WSN. Focusing on local/global activity dilemma, cooperation, interference, network topology, and optimization aspects. A neighborhood abstraction is defined and we involve three binary relations: subordination, tolerance and collision to describe the cooperation in WSN. Using digital terrain model tools we model communication activity aspects as surfaces, stretched over WSN network. A network topology features are modeled using bare drainage surface. It is a component of a topographic map, which gives a direction towards the base station, determined by a slope of the modeled surface. Modeling node's instant energy level, we construct another surface represents node's instant level of consumed energy. Finally, we construct a drainage surface spread over each node neighborhood as superposition of bare drainage surface, energy consumed and relational surfaces.

Recently, generative adversarial networks(GANs)have become a research focus of artificial intelligence. Inspired by two-player zero-sum game, GANs comprise a generator and a discriminator, both trained under the adversarial learning *** goal of GANs is to estimate the potential distribution of real data samples and generate new samples from that *** their initiation, GANs have been widely studied due to their enormous prospect for applications, including image and vision computing, speech and language processing, etc. In this review paper, we summarize the state of the art of GANs and look into the future. Firstly, we survey GANs' proposal background,theoretic and implementation models, and application ***, we discuss GANs' advantages and disadvantages, and their development trends. In particular, we investigate the relation between GANs and parallel intelligence,with the conclusion that GANs have a great potential in parallel systems research in terms of virtual-real interaction and integration. Clearly, GANs can provide substantial algorithmic support for parallel intelligence.

In this paper, a low-cost dualtone radio interferometric positioning system using a single mobile anchor is proposed to locate multiple targets at the same time. We name it mDRIPS. In mDRIPS, each target continuously transmits a dual-tone signal with its dedicated frequencies, and the mobile anchor receives the signals at different positions along its trajectory, Neither time synchronization between the mobile anchor and the targets nor time synchronization among the targets is required. We take the instability of targets clocks into consideration and develop an ESPRIT-type algorithm to estimate frequencies of each dual-tone signal. Furthermore, the time of arrival (TOA) of each target signal is extracted from the phase estimates of the received dual-tone signals. After measuring several TOAs at different locations along the anchor's trajectory, each target can be located. Since the frequency difference of the two tones of each dualtone signal is designed to be smaller than the channel coherence bandwidth, the same fading effect on these two tones can be eliminated. Moreover, the integer ambiguity problem due to phase wrapping is investigated, and a localization algorithm to deal with a simplified ambiguity problem is proposed. Numerical results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed mDRIPS.
