This paper overviews recent advances in the field of switched fuzzy systems, switched systems whose subsystems are fuzzy systems, followed by the comparative study for this kind of systems. Starting with the basic ideas of switched fuzzy systems, the comparative study is aimed in introducing the diverse approaches in their model construction, as well as the challeng.s related with the stability analysis and stabilization of such systems. The last includes the issue of stability analysis and finding conditions for existence of switched fuzzy controllers which will stabilize the nonlinear system. © 2012 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a wireless high resolution video transmission system with encryption and authentication. The proposed system is implemented by JPEG 2000 coding. We implement JPEG 2000 coder by GPU in CUDA which is an integrated development environment for GPU, or by JPEG 2000 codec LSI. Moreover, the authentication system can check the user information in encrypted domain using Paillier encryption. Therefore, this system is more secure than conventional systems. We show that the proposed system can achieve 4K size coding by 2.34fps with CUDA, and HD size coding by 29.98 fps with LSI codec. In addition, we demonstrate that the authentication using Paillier encryption is successful.

We consider networked control systems where nodes (sensors, actuators, and controller) are connected via a communication network that allows only one user to transmit at a given time. We tackle the scheduling problem of deciding which node should access the network at each transmission time so as to optimize a quadratic performance objective. Using the framework of dynamic programming, we propose a rollout strategy by which the node elected to transmit at each step is the one that leads to optimal performance over a lookahead horizon assuming that from then on nodes transmit in a periodic order. The proposed strategy leads to a protocol in which a conic state partition determines which node transmits at each step and which can outperform any given periodic protocol. Moreover, we show that some of the protocols previously proposed in the literature, such as the Maximum Error First and the dynamic protocols, can be viewed as rollout strategies for a certain dynamic programming problem. The advantages of using rollout strategies are illustrated by a numerical example.

Our aim is to propose an extension of nD systems by treating uncertain parameters of a system as additional independent variables. We recall known results on deriving equations for the sensitivity of the system state to parameter changes. Then, the problem of optimal control of linear systems extended by sensitivity equations with the quadratic criterion is stated. Its solution is relatively easy using the well known results for LQ optimal systems, but in our case the optimal controller is fed additionally by sensitivity signals. A numerical example indicates that the behavior of control system with reduced sensitivity is different than the behavior of classical systems, which is the price that we pay for parameter uncertainty. © 2011 IEEE.

This paper introduces a new quadrotor manipulation system that consists of a 2-link manipulator attached to the bottom of a quadrotor. This new system presents a solution for the drawbacks found in the current quadrotor manipulation system which uses a gripper fixed to a quadrotor. Unlike the current system, the proposed system enables the end-effector to achieve any arbitrary orientation and thus increases its degrees of freedom from 4 to 6. Also, it provides enough distance between the quadrotor and the object to be manipulated. This is useful in some applications such as demining applications. System kinematics and dynamics are derived which are highly nonlinear. controller is designed based on feedback linearization to track desired trajectories. controlling the movements in the horizontal directions is simplified by utilizing the derived nonholonmic constraints. Finally, the proposed system is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK program. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

This paper introduces Mean Field Games (MFG) as a framework to develop optimal estimators in some sense for a general class of nonlinear systems. We show that under suitable conditions the estimation error converges exponentially fast to zero. computer simulations are performed to illustrate the method. In particular we provide an example where the proposed estimator converges whereas both extended Kalman filter and particle filter diverge. © 2011 INRIA.

Robust H∞ output feedback control problem for a class of switched linear discrete-time systems possessing norm-bounded uncertainty and time-varying delay is investigated. A switched dynamic output feedback controller is sought that can robust exponentially stabilize and reduce to a prescribed level the effect of disturbance input on the controlled output in the closed loop. A delay-dependent linear matrix inequality based sufficient condition for the problem to be solvable is derived via the switched Lyapunov functions. controller design is performed by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. An illustrative example along with simulation results is given to demonstrate the validity of these novel derivations. © 2011 Chamber of Turkish Electric.

The robust H∞ control problem for a class of uncertain switched linear systems by using the variable structure control is investigated. A robust H∞ single sliding surface is shown to exist as long as a convex combination of the subsystems of the switched system is robustly stabilizable with disturbance attenuation level γ. A switching law is constructed via the single Lyapunov function technique. Variable structure controllers of subsystems are designed so as the resulting closed-loop system guarantees the robust H∞ performance. An illustrative example and simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed design method. © 2011 Chamber of Turkish Electric.

This paper proposes the novel emotion dynamic equation for emotion implementation like human's emotion by fuzziness. Almost general method use artificial approach such as neutral networks to classify emotion by using speech and face image data for human's emotion recognition. But high-dimension and large size of this data cause low-speed learning in robot system. The main idea of the proposed dynamic equation method is to dynamically express emotion by fuzzy function. © 2011 Scientific Assoc Infocomm.
