Medication management poses significant challenges for many patients, particularly the elderlies, who often struggle with keeping track of their medication schedules and taking the correct dosages. To address this issue, this study aims to design an AI-integrated Medication Management and Assistive unit (AMMAU) for elderlies with some important features like, schedule reminder, medicine recognition and count, early indication of shortage, sorted slots, and so on. Automated insulin-dose prediction and alert system makes the system unique and more demanding at these current scenarios. For this study, a suitable machine learning model is designed, analyzed, verified, and embedded in the proposed system so that the elderly diabetic patients can get alert, further compare with the current insulin-doses. Though, the proposed system is currently focusing on only the Basal insulin doses prediction, the system will definitely reduce the risks associated with wrong management of medication by degrading the chances of missed doses or taking wrong pills for elderlies at home.

Within the scope of prostate cancer diagnostic imaging, distinguishing lesions is challenging due to their subtle appearance and the prostate gland's complexity. This study employed the nnU-Net, a state-of-the-art medical image segmentation model, on a dataset of 301 patients from 2 openly available datasets to identify whether lesion sizes are affecting the model's performance. By applying t-SNE dimensionality reduction algorithm among dice score and respective lesion sizes, we found that nnU-Net behaves differently for lesions smaller than 9mm compared to lesions larger than 15mm. These insights can inform specialized training approaches for future deep learning models in prostate lesion *** Relevance: The main contributions of this study is, to investigate whether lesion sizes affects nnU-Net's deficiency leading to the development of more specialized models in respect to these factors. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent decades, the concept of sustainability has taken on a key role in the agendas of political decision-makers, businesses, and society. Brands have incorporated attributes associated with the concept of sustainability, making it essential to understand how these attributes are perceived and how they influence purchasing decisions. Young consumers tend to be well informed about social and environmental aspects and are more sensitive than previous generations to environmental issues. Although Gen Z’s purchasing intentions are influenced by the sustainable practices of organizations, their preferences are not fully understood. Recent studies have shown that the sustainability component associated with the brand influences Gen Z’s purchase intentions, and that social and economic aspects are at the root of this, emphasizing the importance of corporate social responsibility and transparent brand communication in terms of sustainability. Understanding how the sustainability component of brands influences the purchasing decisions of young consumers is fundamental for defining future branding strategies. The aim of this paper is to describe the state of the art of the relationship between the sustainability component of the brand and the purchase intention of Gen Z, based on the literature. This study proposes a new prairie dog optimization algorithm version called EPDO. This new version aims to address the issues of premature convergence and slow convergence that were observed in the original PDO algorithm. To improve performance, several modifications are introduced in EPDO. First, a dynamic opposite learning strategy is employed to increase the diversity of the population and prevent premature convergence. This strategy helps the algorithm avoid falling into local optima and promotes global optimization. Additionally, the Lévy dynamic random walk technique is utilized in EPDO. This modified Lévy flight with random walk reduces the algorithm’s running time for the test function’s ideal value, accelerating its convergence. The proposed approach is evaluated using 33 benchmark problems from CEC 2017 and compared against seven other comparative techniques: GWO, MFO, ALO, WOA, DA, SCA, and RSA. Numerical results demonstrate that EPDO produces good outcomes and performs well in solving benchmark problems. To further validate the results and assess reliability, the authors employ average rank tests, the measurement of alternatives, and ranking according to the compromise solution (MARCOS) method, as well as a convergence report of EPDO and other algorithms. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the EPDO algorithm is demonstrated by applying it to five design problems. The results indicate that EPDO achieves impressive outcomes and proves its capability to address practical issues. The algorithm performs well in solving benchmark and practical design problems, as supported by the numerical results and validation methods used in the study. © The Author(s) 2024.

Recent research has shown that a small perturbation to an input may forcibly change the prediction of a machine learning (ML) model. Such variants are commonly referred to as adversarial examples. Early studies have focused mostly on ML models for image processing and expanded to other applications, including those for malware classification. In this article, we focus on the problem of finding adversarial examples against ML-based portable document format (PDF) malware *** deem that our problem is more challenging than those againstMLmodels for image processing because of the highly complex data structure of PDF and of an additional constraint that the generated PDF should exhibit malicious behavior. To resolve our problem, we propose a variant of generative adversarial networks that generate evasive variant PDF malware (without any crash), which can be classified as benign by various existing classifiers yetmaintaining the original malicious behavior. Our model exploits the target classifier as the second discriminator to rapidly generate an evasive variant PDF with our new feature selection process that includes unique features extracted from malicious PDF files. We evaluate our technique against three representative PDF malware classifiers (Hidost 13, Hidost 16, and PDFrate-v2) and further examine its effectiveness with AntiVirus engines from VirusTotal. To the best of our knowledge, our work is the first to analyze the performance against the commercial AntiVirus engines. Our model finds, with great speed, evasive variants for all selected seeds against state-of-The-Art PDF malware classifiers and raises a serious security concern in the presence of adversaries. © 2021 institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. Organizational, technical and methodological approaches to the creation and application of virtual reality in additional education are considered. Particularly for use and development of a digital radiography simulator in non-destructive testing of products and materials. It is noted that virtual reality technologies are most widely used in training and knowledge testing of engineering and technical personnel and workers in production, as well as in technological preparation during complex and exacting operations, including products and materials testing. The pilot solutions obtained and tested to date allow us to evaluate the results of complex scientific research. The prospects of expanding the applicability range of software and hardware virtual reality solutions, including those based on network interfaces, protocols and telecommunications solutions, are determined. © 2021 institute of Physics Publishing. Recently, many studies have used evolutionary algorithms (EAs) to optimize complex problems across various fields, including mechanical structure design, robotics, and cloud computing. EAs simulate the process of evolution to improve solutions to a given problem iteratively. However, EAs encounter significant challenges when dealing with high-dimensional expensive problems (HEPs). The large solution space and high computing cost of fitness evaluations (FEs) make optimization with limited FEs particularly difficult. To tackle this problem, an Adaptive Multi-stage Evolution Algorithm named AMEA is proposed. In AMEA, an adaptively enhanced teaching-learning-based optimization algorithm is adopted to explore the search space and find potential areas quickly. Then, in the next stage, the Gaussian process surrogate model and a genetic learning particle swarm optimization algorithm are adopted for further exploitation. Besides, this work proposes an adaptive stage switching criterion and an individual screening mechanism to enhance the optimization ability. AMEA demonstrates strong optimization performance when applied to HEPs. We compare AMEA with several state-of-the-art HEP optimization algorithms through seven benchmark functions, and the results show that it performs competitively with other algorithms. Finally, we also validate AMEA's effectiveness with a real-world computation offloading problem.

During the coal seam drilling process, the drill string is subject to compressive deformation, compounded by unpredictable variations in formation hardness and borehole wall friction, leading to challenges in maintaining a stable feeding speed. This paper presents a novel approach by introducing uncertain parameters to describe the effects of formation hardness and borehole wall friction. Drill string axial movement model is modeled as a polyhedral system based on a lumped parameter representation. To meet industrial performance requirements, we design a robust $H_{\infty}$ controller to achieve consistent feeding speed control. Our simulation results demonstrate the controller's effectiveness in ensuring system stability despite fluctuations in formation hardness and drill string friction.

Graph Structure Learning (GSL) has recently garnered considerable attention due to its ability to optimize both the parameters of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and the computation graph structure simultaneously. Despite the proliferation of GSL methods developed in recent years, there is no standard experimental setting or fair comparison for performance evaluation, which creates a great obstacle to understanding the progress in this field. To fill this gap, we systematically analyze the performance of GSL in different scenarios and develop a comprehensive Graph Structure Learning Benchmark (GSLB) curated from 20 diverse graph datasets and 16 distinct GSL algorithms. Specifically, GSLB systematically investigates the characteristics of GSL in terms of three dimensions: effectiveness, robustness, and complexity. We comprehensively evaluate state-of-the-art GSL algorithms in node- and graph-level tasks, and analyze their performance in robust learning and model complexity. Further, to facilitate reproducible research, we have developed an easy-to-use library for training, evaluating, and visualizing different GSL methods. Empirical results of our extensive experiments demonstrate the ability of GSL and reveal its potential benefits on various downstream tasks, offering insights and opportunities for future research. In view of the complexity of the flux density harmonic components of bilateral-excitation flux modulation (BFM) machines, it is not easy to analyze the role of air-gap flux density harmonics on the electromagnetic torque of BFM machines. In this digest, Taking the novel asymmetric stator tooth (AST) BFM machine as the research object, the flux modulation phenomena of the PM magneto motive-force (MMF) and armature winding MMF are analyzed in detail. Meanwhile, based on the air-gap field modulation theory and Maxwell stress tensor equation, the contribution of air-gap flux density harmonics to the electromagnetic torque of the BFM machine is obtained.
