The growth of consumer electronic products is encouraged by innovations and has stimulated the persistent development of earphones for high-quality sound reproduction. Earbud earphone is located in the concha of the human ear facing an ear-canal. The placement of earphones in the concha plays a remarkable role in the sound pressure level response of an earphone. In this study, ten earphones were tested for frequency response and total harmonic distortion using head and torso simulator in an anechoic chamber. Three positions and two orientations of earphones in the concha were identified for measurement. Based on the responses of all earphones at all orientations and positions, it is concluded that there is a variation in the frequency response and total harmonic distortion. Even though the variation is small in magnitude, its effect on sound perception, sound exposure, and the hearing threshold is phenomenal. Based on the proposition presented in this work and the safe daily sound exposure, it has been determined that the variation in the frequency response affects the perceived loudness of sound and can cause signif-icant differences in the daily sound exposure limit for a human being. © 2020, Canadian Acoustical Association. New test results for samples of the titanium alloy VT3-1 in the region of very high cycle fatigue at the loading frequency of 20 kHz are obtained. Using the metallographic analysis on the sections of the compressor disk from which samples were made to study the stamped material, significant heterogeneity in the distribution of two-phase plate structure is revealed. At the asymmetry of the cycle R =–1, the behavior of the extruded and stamped material differs little from each other, and at the asymmetry of the cycle R = 0.1, the extruded material has better fatigue characteristics. The compressing part of the cycle balances the effect of structural heterogeneity on the accumulation of defects in VT3-1 alloy. © 2018, Pleiades Publishing, Ltd.

Introduction: Exposure to rotenone could directly affects the function of mitochondrial which leads to neurodegeneration. This study evaluated the therapeutic potential of taxifolin (Huāqí sōng dài;花旗松甙) to alleviate metabolic and neurochemical alterations in the hippocampal and cortical region of brain of rotenone-toxified rats. Methods: Male Wistar rats were subcutaneously administered 1.5 mg/kg rotenone for 10 days, followed by post-treatment with varying doses of taxifolin (0.25, 0.5 and 1.0 mg/kg) for 3 days through the same route. Activities of mitochondrial complex I, membrane ion pump and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) were evaluated in the hippocampus and cortex of the brain of rotenone-toxified rats. Markers of neurotransmitter metabolism and oxidative stress were also biochemically estimated and molecular interaction between taxifolin and tyrosine hydroxylase, monoamine oxidase, glutamine synthetase and Na⁺/K⁺ATPase was determined by in silico simulation. Results: Taxifolin attenuated dysfunction of mitochondrial, Na⁺/K⁺ATPase, LDH and modulate neurotransmitter metabolism. Also, the elicited oxidative stress was mitigated by taxifolin in the hippocampus and cortex of the brain of rotenone-toxified rats. Furthermore, taxifolin showed excellent interactions with targeted enzymes in silico. The highest binding affinity was recorded in taxifolin-tyrosine hydroxylase complex. Hydrogen bond and hydrophobic interactions were the two key molecular interaction between the taxifolin and targeted enzymes. Discussion: Taxifolin alleviates metabolic and neurochemical aberrations in rotenone-induced neurotoxicity model in rats in vivo and exhibits promising interactions with specific target enzymes that are key to neurotransmission in silico. © 2024 The Authors

The article is dedicated to the consideration of new methods for the synthesis of digital environmental monitoring systems, inclusive to the analysis through the methodology of machine learning. The role of circuit components proposed for implementation is considered. Attention is paid to the specifics of the analysis of already measured data and to the memory device of information-measuring systems. Androgen receptor(AR) is a ligand-activated transcription factor that plays a pivotal role in the development and progression of many severe diseases such as prostate cancer, muscle atrophy, and osteoporosis. Binding of ligands to AR triggers the conformational changes in AR that may affect the recruitment of coactivators and downstream response of AR signaling ***, AR ligands have great potential to treat these diseases. In this study, we searched for novel AR ligands by performing a docking-based virtual screening(VS) on the basis of the crystal structure of the AR ligand binding domain(LBD) in complex with its agonist. A total of 58 structurally diverse compounds were selected and subjected to LBD affinity assay, with five of them(HBP1-3, HBP1-17, HBP1-38, HBP1-51, and HBP1-58) exhibiting strong binding to AR-LBD. The IC50 values of HBP1-51 and HBP1-58 are 3.96 m M and 4.92 m M, respectively, which are even lower than that of enzalutamide(Enz, IC50= 13.87 m M), a marketed second-generation AR antagonist. Further bioactivity assays suggest that HBP1-51 is an AR agonist, whereas HBP1-58 is an AR antagonist. In addition, molecular dynamics(MD) simulations and principal components analysis(PCA) were carried out to reveal the binding principle of the newlyidentified AR ligands toward AR. Our modeling results indicate that the conformational changes of helix 12 induced by the bindings of antagonist and agonist are visibly different. In summary,the current study provides a highly efficient way to discover novel AR ligands, which could serve as the starting point for development of new therapeutics for AR-related diseases.

The important result of the iron core collapse simulation is the formation of the convec-tively unstable regions in the center and in the region of the accretion. The large region near the center suitable for the convective insatiability exists during 10 ms. In the frame of 3D hydrodynamic simulations with taking into account self-gravity I illustrate the possibility of the developing of the large-scale convection during such short time. Another important result from the viewpoint supernova explosion is the huge neutrino energy in the degenerate convective bubble about 100 MeV in compare with the thermal neutrino 10 MeV from the neutrino-sphere. A QUANTIZED STATISTICAL MODEL OF FLOW STRESS AND GENERALIZED HALL–PETCH LAW FOR DEFORMABLE POLYCRYSTALLINE MATERIALS. A TEMPERATURE-DIMENSION EFFECT

A theory of flow stress is proposed, including the yield strength σy of polycrystalline materials in the case of quasi-static plastic deformations depending on the average size d of a crystallite (grain) in the range of 10-8 –10-2 m. The dependence is based on a statistical model of energy spectrum distribution in each crystallite of a single-mode polycrystalline material with respect to quasi-stationary levels under plastic loading, with the highest level equal to the maximal dislocation energy in the framework of a disclination-dislocation deformation mechanism. A statistically calculated distribution of equilibrium scalar dislocation density in each crystallite leads to a flow stress due to Taylor’s strain hardening mechanism containing the usual (normal) and anomalous Hall–Petch relations with Ε=0.002 for coarse and nanocrystalline grains, respectively, and reaches the maximum at flow stress values for an extreme grain size d0 of the order of 10-8–10-7 m. The maximum undergoes a shift to the region of larger grains for decreasing temperatures and increasing strains Ε. Coincidence is established between the theoretical and experimental data on σy for the materials with BCC (α- Fe), FCC (Cu, Al, Ni) and HCP (α-Ti, Zr) crystal lattices with closely-packed grains at T=300K. The temperature dependence of the strength characteristics is studied. It is shown using the example of Al that yield strength grows with a decrease in temperature for all the grains with d larger than 3d0, and then σy decreases in the nano-crystalline region, thus determining a temperature-dimension effect. Stress-strain theoretical curves σ=σ(Ε) are plotted for the pure crystalline phase of α- Fe with Backofen-Considére fracture criterion validity. The one-phase model of polycrystalline material is extended by including a softening grain boundary phase into a two-phase model, and then by including dispersion (un)hardening. Continual models of solid media with a discrete set of slip planes (layered, block media) and with nonlinear slip conditions at the contact boundaries of structural elements are constructed. The constitutive equations of the resulting system of equations contain a small viscosity parameter in the denominator of nonlinear free terms. For a stable numerical solution of a system of differential equations, an explicit-implicit method is proposed with an explicit approximation of the equations of motion and an implicit approximation of the constitutive relations containing a small parameter. From implicit nonlinear difference approximations analytically, using the perturbation method, various effective formulas for the correction of stress components after an elastic time step are obtained. To calculate the elastic step, we used a grid-characteristic method on hexahedral grids, which allowed us to significantly increase the speed of calculations and simulate a non-stationary three-dimensional problem of generating a response from an oriented layered or block cracked cluster located in a homogeneous medium. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The article deals with the aspectology of determining the classification of problems in the metrological apparatus of medical support. Attention is paid to the design and synthesis of the principles of diagnostics and direct measurements in medicine. The functional and semantic component of modern computer diagnostic methods is indicated, their synergistic effect is determined. The importance of promising measurement control methods - expert systems of new generations is substantiated.
