This paper theoretically studies the axisymmetric frictionless indentation of a transversely isotropic piezoelectric semiconductor(PSC)half-space subject to a rigid flatended cylindrical *** contact area and other surface of the PSC half-space are assumed to be electrically *** the Hankel integral transformation,the problem is reduced to the Fredholm integral equation of the second *** equation is solved numerically to obtain the indentation behaviors of the PSC half-space,mainly including the indentation force-depth relation and the electric potential-depth *** results show that the effect of the semiconductor property on the indentation responses is limited within a certain range of variation of the steady carrier *** dependence of indentation behavior on material properties is also analyzed by two different kinds of *** element simulations are conducted to verify the results calculated by the integral equation technique,and good agreement is demonstrated.

Numerical Investigation of a Viscous Two-Dimensional Fluid Flow in a Closed Cell

Abstract: A two-dimensional flow of a viscous fluid in a cell of finite size is studied numerically. Theflow arises as a result of an inverse cascade supported by a constant pumping. Several distinctstates are observed. One of them is dominated by a large eddy with a well-defined average velocityprofile. In the second state, strong chaotic large-scale fluctuations predominate. A laminar flow isobserved in the third state. The nature of the resulting state depends on the fluid kinematicviscosity coefficient, the magnitude of the external pumping force wave vector, and the value ofthe bottom friction factor. When the values of the kinematic viscosity and wave vector are fixed, asmall value of the bottom friction factor leads to the appearance of the first state. As thecoefficient of the bottom friction factor increases, there occurs a transition from a flow with onelarge vortex to a laminar flow through a series of states with several unstable vortices, which wecall chaotic motion. The paper presents the results of numerical simulation of a weaklycompressible viscous fluid flow in a closed cell with no-slip boundary conditions on the *** is carried out by a static force periodic in space in two directions. One of the most important areas of robotics is the search for new solutions for the creation of biomorphic robots. This paper focuses on propulsion design for an underwater robot in a fish form factor based on the principles of soft robotics. The biomimetic robot is designed using a flexible torso and an oscillating tail, which is controlled by a DC motor optimized for speed through numerical and experimental calculations, and a servo motor that allows you to set the direction of movement. The use of a DC motor to drive the robot reduces losses compared to other oscillatory propulsion systems that are driven by one or more mi servomotors. © 2023 IEEE.

The numerical simulation of the hypersonic viscous gas flow around the landing module intended for descent in the Martian atmosphere is considered. When modeling the special attention is paid to the study of non-stationary flow structure near the lateral surface and bottom regions of the descent module located at different attack angles. The patterns of the non-stationary spatial vortex flow near the descent module are presented. Numerical simulation is based on the conservative method of finite volumes for the Navier–Stokes model of medium. Vibratory equipment is widely used in various fields of mechanical, industrial, and manufacturing engineering. Particularly, such machines can be effectively implemented while carrying out finishing technological operations, e.g., glazing, polishing, and lapping of different machine parts. The present paper is focused on developing the control system for the novel design of a vibratory lapping-polishing machine driven by six solenoids. The main purpose consists in providing the circular trajectory of the working member and ensuring the machining uniformity at each point of the surface being treated. In such a case, it is proposed to actuate the solenoids with the specified time shift depending on the forced frequency needed to be provided. The duration of the signal actuating the solenoid is equal to one-sixth of the total duration of a cycle (period) of the working body oscillation. The corresponding control approach is developed and simulated in the Tinkercad application, while the control system is designed based on the Arduino hardware and software. In addition, the laboratory prototype of the vibratory lapping-polishing machine and the corresponding control system are implemented in practice. The performed laboratory studies and experimental tests substantiate the possibilities of generating the circular oscillations of the working member of the vibration-driven lapping-polishing machine. The obtained results may be useful for engineers and technologists dealing with control systems of various vibratory technological equipment based on electromagnetic and solenoid-type drives. © 2023 IEEE.

The purpose of the study has been to build a self-consistent gas-dynamic model of the accretion disk of a compact astrophysical object with allowance for viscosity. The matter falling on a compact object consists of proton gas, electrons, and radiation arising from the braking of a rotating gas at a speed comparable to light one. Physical proton viscosity is not sufficient in the gas-dynamic accretion model with laminar flow. It is necessary to introduce the so-called turbulent viscosity probably arising from the development of instabilities to explain the loss of the disk angular momentum. With a quantitative mathematical model of gas dynamics with allowance for the generally accepted turbulent viscosity, we want to demonstrate a solution with such instability. In a recently published study on Kepler disk braking, we have been able to obtain only large-scale vortex structures arising from azimuthal perturbations, for example, due to tidal effects and demonstrated an increase in disk braking against a neutron star due to these vortex structures. While the development of small-scale shear instability on the surface of a neutron star for a Kepler disk has not been demonstrated in calculations. In this study, we have examined a non-Keplerian disk with a non-zero negative radial velocity ensuring the flow of matter to the surface of a compact star, as a result of which shear instability and turbulence appear.

The growing dependence on personal vehicles has intensified challenges in traffic management, violation monitoring, and locating stolen cars. Addressing these issues, this study introduces a real-time, smart system for detecting and recognizing Syrian car license plates using surveillance camera image processing. The system is built on a decentralized architecture with edge computers, notably the Khadas Vim3 equipped with Neural Processing Units (NPUs). It utilizes two YoloV4-tiny networks trained on a dataset of over 1100 images of Syrian license plate. The first network detects cars and plates with high accuracy, while the second recognizes numbers on the plates with 87% accuracy. Adhering to Internet of Things (IoT) principles, the system processes up to 16 frames per second for detection and 8 frames per second for broadcasting results, maintaining uninterrupted operation even if an edge computer is offline, thereby providing a consistent and efficient solution for traffic management challenges. © 2024 IEEE.

This study proposes a proposed combined DGS array antenna for multiband applications. Advanced quantum communication relies on large array antennas, pivotal for transmitting and receiving quantum information. This study introduces a combined array antenna for Multiband quantum 5G, with resonance frequency spanning 24–40 GHz, featuring 20 elements, combining circular central feeding. The proposed antenna has a 1.6 mm height with a roger substrate with 20 mm length and width, respectively, and the proposed antenna resonates with Multiband beam coverage with gain increased as 7.8 and 7.6 dBi at resonate frequencies of 28.82 and 35.44 GHz, respectively. The proposed antenna radiated power in a given direction with a directivity of 6.72 dB and 8.1 dB, respectively. The proposed antennae with 5G NR bands have more radiation concerning resonate frequencies in the 24–40 GHz range with Φ = 00, Φ = 900, and θ = 900, respectively. Furthermore, its 5G NR bands application covers bandwidths of 2.75 and 2.03 GHz with good return losses of 49.38 and 60.85 dB concerning resonate frequency as 28.82 and 35.44 GHz, respectively, and cover 5 G quantum mm-wave applications and NR 5G bands as n257, n258, n260, and ground-based navigation in range of 27.85 to 34.62 GHz and 30.6 to 36.65 GHz have resonating notches as 24.39, 29, 29.7, 32.4, 36.25, and 39.07 GHz with return losses of 18.5, 26.3, 22.3, 21.6, 21.2, and 15.1 respectively and have received power measured as -50 dBm, respectively and has been implemented and validated using CST, VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, and Power Sensor with an Absorber. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.
