The problem of viscous gas flow over a rotating disk is investigated using numerical simulation. The conditions in which axisymmetric flow is destroyed with the formation of almost regular polygonal structures are considered. With a fixed size of a disk rotating at the same speed, the viscosity and the thickness of the layer above the disk determine the flow. The flow maps with a sequential change from an octagon to a quadrilateral were obtained as a result of numerical experiments.
