The decisions of the Navier-Stokes equations in approximation of a thin layer describing a flow of the delta wing with sharp edges are received at various Reynolds numbers Re. The flow is characterized by the large variety of possible pictures of flow on upper surface. At numbers Re from 3.55/spl middot/10/sup 3/ to 3.55/spl middot/10/sup 5/ a stationary picture of flow with consecutive change of quantity of vortex from 1 to 5 is realized. At the further increase of number Re and formation of new vortex the stationary picture is replaced by a nonstationary one.

"The augmented man" presents a vision of a new media technology, blending real and virtual worlds, and has been developed in the context of an artistic exhibition. The visitor meets a virtual man, who seems to have emotions and who tries to get in contact by talking and asking questions. The application consists of augmented stereo videos, which are projected on a wall projection screen. The visitor sees himself as if in a 3D mirror, but with a new virtual person walking beside him. The augmented man reacts to people by approaching them or avoiding them. This paper gives a complete overview of the exhibition and presents the artistic concepts and the technical realization. After explanations about our motivation and background ideas, the modelling and the behavioural coding of the virtual man are described. Rendering aspects, like multi-texturing and 3D augmented videos are discussed in detail. The determination of the positions of the visitors is achieved by processing the images of a camera fixed on the room's ceiling. Combined with the stereo front-facing cameras, we show how occlusions between the real person and the virtual man can be handled. The system works in real-time on a single machine with three video input streams and two graphic outputs.

The report is devoted to the numerical analysis of specific features of a spatiallynonstationary progress of Rayleigh-Taylor instability. Considered are the single-mode problem, the problem of evolution of three-dimensional structures from the initial two-dimensional perturbation, and the problem of growth of thickness of the turbulent mixingzone. The coefficient of turbulent mixing was measured numerically. The results obtained are in a good agreement with other data of analytical and experimental investigations.

For the investigation of transitional (from 2D to 3D unsteady) regimes of separated fluid flows around a sphere and a circular cylinder the direct numerical simulation is used. Transitional (from 2D axisymmetrical to 3D unsteady) regimes for a sphere were obtained for 210.5 e≤603. For 210.5 e≤297 the flow is steady but not axisymmetrical with non zero lift/side and torque moment coefficients (so called double-thread wake). For 298 e≤603 the flow is unsteady and periodical but again with non zero time-average lift/side and torque moment coefficients. Only for Re≥604 these time-average coefficients are equal to zero. Transitional (from 2D periodical to 3D unsteady) regimes of separated fluid flows around a circular cylinder with periodical boundary conditions along the axis of the cylinder were obtained for 200 e≤400. These periodical 3D flows are corresponding to known mode A (with periodical structures along the axis of the cylinder equal to 3.5d ≤4d, where d is a diameter of a cylinder). For Re=400 obtained periodical structures have additional length 0.72d ≤0.88d approximately, what is in agreement with known mode B. The Splitting on physical factors Method for Incompressible Fluid flows (SMIF) with hybrid explicit finite difference scheme (second order of accuracy in space, minimum scheme viscosity and dispersion, workable in wide range of Reynolds numbers and monotonous) and O-type grids are used.

We present a novel coverification concept for embedded microcontrollers that satisfies industrial requirements. Based on a commercially available CPU in-circuit emulator coupled with FPGA boards, it verifies the correctness of an implementation in terms of function and timing within a real-world environment. Using our system, the software engineer can write, test and optimize programs for a chip that is not yet physically existent. In addition the system is used to obtain software module characterization data required for system partitioning. Its ability to integrate analog circuitry enables verification of the complete system-on-chip. Our methodology is fully integrated into the ASIC design flow providing ease of use and a high level of verification accuracy.

This paper presents a complete codesign environment for embedded systems which combines automatic partitioning with reuse from a module database. Special emphasis has been put on satisfying the requirements of industrial design practice and on the technical and economic constraints associated with automotive control applications. The object-oriented database architecture allows efficient management of a large number of modules. The problem under consideration is delivery time and cost estimation in batch manufacturing of mechanical parts. We consider non-linear process planning with explicit resource modeling. We present a two-level Petri net class which are high level nets extended with time that allow the interleaving of transitions. They consist of a system net modeling the job shop layout (including the machines) and token nets modeling the jobs and setups. We calculate the optimum delivery time and associated cost of a batch of one type of mechanical workpiece together with the associated resources.
