In our previous work, we have proposed a method that links character string having a certain semantic meaning on papers in real world to the digital content in cyberspace, and call it "Ultimate Link." Ultimate Link adds additional information to characters by drawing colored circles on top of the characters without changing the shape of the characters. A URL can be generated by connecting additional information of semantically organized character strings from an image taken with a digital device. The conventional Ultimate Link drew markers to normalize the drawn circles (markers for projective transformation), similar to the finder pattern in a QR code. In order to achieve a more realistic application, it is desirable it. We report on an improved Ultimate Link that can handle complex multiple character strings. Specifically, improvements were made to enable extraction of information by identifying character strings with embedded additional information from sheets of paper printed with multiple character strings. As a result of experiments, we confirmed that information could be successfully embedded and extracted for both character strings in the target image.

Estimating high-dimensional covariance matrices is crucial in various domains. This work considers a scenario where two collaborating agents access disjoint dimensions of m samples from a high-dimensional random vector, and they can only communicate a limited number of bits to a central server, which wants to accurately approximate the covariance matrix. We analyze the fundamental trade-off between communication cost, number of samples, and estimation accuracy. We prove a lower bound on the error achievable by any estimator, highlighting the impact of dimensions, number of samples, and communication budget. Furthermore, we present an algorithm that achieves this lower bound up to a logarithmic factor, demonstrating its near-optimality in practical settings. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

Short-term GPS data based taxi pick-up area recommendation can improve the efficiency and reduce the *** how to alleviate sparsity and further enhance accuracy is still *** at these issues,we propose to fuse spatio-temporal contexts into deep factorization machine(STC_DeepFM)offline for pick-up area recommendation,and within the area to recommend pick-up points online using factorization machine(FM).Firstly,we divide the urban area into several grids with equal ***-temporal contexts are destilled from pick-up points or points-of-interest(POIs)belonged to the preceding ***,the contexts are integrated into deep factorization machine(DeepFM)to mine high-order interaction relationships from *** a novel algorithm named STC_DeepFM is presented for offline pick-up area ***,we devise the architecture of offline-to-online(O2O)recommendation respectively based on DeepFM and FM model in order to tradeoff the accuracy and *** experiments are designed on the DiDi dataset to evaluate step by step the performance of spatio-temporal contexts,different recommendation models,and the O2O *** results show that the proposed STC_DeepFM algorithm exceeds several state-of-the-art methods,and the O2O architecture achieves excellent real-time performance.
