Autonomous Vehicle (AV) decision-making in ur-ban environments is inherently challenging due to the dynamic interactions with surrounding vehicles. For safe planning, AV/ego must understand the weightage of various spatiotemporal interactions in a scene. Contemporary works use colos-sal transformer architectures to encode interactions mainly for trajectory prediction, resulting in increased computational complexity. To address this issue without compromising spatiotemporal understanding and performance, we propose the simple Deep Attention Driven Reinforcement Learning (DAD-RL) framework, which dynamically assigns and incorporates the significance of surrounding vehicles into the ego's RL-driven decision-making process. We introduce an AV-centric spatiotemporal attention encoding (STAE) mechanism for learning the dynamic interactions with different surrounding vehicles. To understand map and route context, we employ a context encoder to extract features from context maps. The spatiotemporal representations combined with contextual encoding provide a comprehensive state representation. The resulting model is trained using the Soft-Actor Critic (SAC) algorithm. We evaluate the proposed framework on the SMARTS urban benchmarking scenarios without traffic signals to demonstrate that DAD-RL outperforms recent state-of-the-art methods. Furthermore, an ablation study underscores the importance of the context-encoder and spatiotemporal attention encoder in achieving superior performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Building an Adaptive Cooperative Transmission Mechanism for Multimedia Convergence System

In people's daily lives, electronic mail, audio-visual media platforms, and communication software all have the need for file transmission. This article proposes a digital aggregation system with an adaptive collaborative transmission mechanism. By using traditional UDP and TCP transmission protocols, the file transmission method is adaptively adjusted based on the file type, file size, and network conditions of the device. Through these selection parameters, the file has the most suitable and optimized transmission and upload mode during the transmission process. This article proposes a transmission mode that combines transmission speed and file integrity, systematically examining the existing transmission environment and improving traditional transmission protocols. The communication protocol method proposed through this method is 2.5% faster than traditional transmission protocols for image file transmission. Compared to traditional transmission protocols, the transmission speed of audio files is 1.07% faster. Compared to traditional transmission protocols, video file transmission speed is 1.21% faster. This study adopts a collaborative communication transmission mechanism, which accelerates the transmission speed of multiple clients obtaining files from the server by 1.2% compared to a non-collaborative communication transmission mechanism. The client can still connect to the server at a slower time. This mechanism can accelerate download speed and make it easier to obtain files. Combining with the transmission platform, examining the environmental conditions of the device can be applied to optimize the transmission between servers and clients. We consider word-of-mouth social learning involving m Kalman filter agents that operate sequentially. The first Kalman filter receives the raw observations, while each subsequent Kalman filter receives a noisy measurement of the conditional mean of the previous Kalman filter. The prior is updated by the m-th Kalman filter. When m=2, and the observations are noisy measurements of a Gaussian random variable, the covariance goes to zero as k-1/3 for 7kappa;observations, instead of O(k-1) in the standard Kalman filter. In this paper we prove that for m agents, the covariance decreases to zero as k-(2m-1), i.e, the learning slows down exponentially with the number of agents. We also show that by artificially weighing the prior at each time, the learning rate can be made optimal as k-1. The implication is that in word-of-mouth social learning, artificially re-weighing the prior can yield the optimal learning rate. © 2024 IEEE.

People take various types of cereals every day in their regular meals, but most people do not know their importance while consuming them. Each cereal has its benefit. One such cereal content is dry beans. Dry beans are a variety of beans that are produced in pods. These dry beans can be cooked and eaten, and it has numerous proteins and vitamins and are highly beneficial for our health. It also provides excellent immunity. Each bean has its characteristics, which can be identified with its unique features. These can be oval or kidney-shaped or even without a proper shape. According to their shape and features, they are classified separately. These nutrient-rich beans have to be classified based on their shapes. Human eyes sometimes may oversee or misclassify these tiny cereals for classification. This work involves the classification of 7 such dry bean varieties utilizing a deep learning context. The dataset utilized in this paper includes 13611 dry bean data for seven different UCI Machine learning repositories. In this work, we have taken seven different categorical labels: the dry bean varieties. The classification is done using deep learning techniques, and here we have utilized the Keras Sequential Algorithm for the classification. It is a supervised learning concept of machine learning used to predict two or more categorical labels. With the help of the deep learning approach, these dry beans are classified and obtained an accuracy of 94.88%. © 2023 IEEE.

A linear constraint loop is specified by a system of linear inequalities that define the relation between the values of the program variables before and after a single execution of the loop body. In this paper we consider the problem of determining whether such a loop terminates, i.e., whether all maximal executions are finite, regardless of how the loop is initialised and how the non-determinism in the loop body is resolved. We focus on the variant of the termination problem in which the loop variables range over R. Our main result is that the termination problem is decidable over the reals in dimension 2. The development of the industrial Internet of Things and smart grid networks has emphasized the importance of secure smart grid communication for the future of electric power transmission. However, the current deployment of smart meters and wireless communication methods presents several security concerns that must be addressed to ensure sustainable and resilient smart grid networks for Industry 5.0, with a focus on consumer-centric technologies. In this context, we propose a privacy-focused authentication solution for secure consumer-centric demand response management in smart grid networks, incorporating consumer electronics. Our proposed protocol utilizes blockchain-based authentication to enhance resistance against potential attacks and ensure the integrity of demand response data. Additionally, we have incorporated a PUF to prevent physical attacks. We have conducted informal and formal security analyses to verify the effectiveness of our proposed protocol against various threats and to confirm the session key security. Our comparison study has demonstrated that our protocol provides superior security and added functionalities, with lower computation and communication costs compared to similar protocols. Furthermore, we have measured the computational time for implementing the blockchain component of our protocol while considering the impact of varying numbers of block additions and transactions per block. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

By harnessing the capabilities of large language models (LLMs), recent large multimodal models (LMMs) have shown remarkable versatility in open-world multimodal understanding. Nevertheless, they are usually parameter-heavy and computation-intensive, thus hindering their applicability in resource-constrained scenarios. To this end, several lightweight LMMs have been proposed successively to maximize the capabilities under constrained scale (e.g., 3B). Despite the encouraging results achieved by these methods, most of them only focus on one or two aspects of the design space, and the key design choices that influence model capability have not yet been thoroughly investigated. In this paper, we conduct a systematic study for lightweight LMMs from the aspects of model architecture, training strategy, and training data. Based on our findings, we obtain Imp - a family of highly capable LMMs at the 2B ∼ 4B scales. Notably, our Imp-3B model steadily outperforms all the existing lightweight LMMs of similar size, and even surpasses the state-of-the-art LMMs at the 13B scale. With low-bit quantization and resolution reduction techniques, our Imp model can be deployed on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Gen3 mobile chip with a high inference speed of about 13 tokens/s. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

Transformers have emerged as a groundbreaking architecture in the field of computer vision, offering a compelling alternative to traditional convolutional neural networks (CNNs) by enabling the modeling of long-range dependencies and global context through self-attention mechanisms. Originally developed for natural language processing, transformers have now been successfully adapted for a wide range of vision tasks, leading to significant improvements in performance and generalization. This survey provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental principles of transformer architectures, highlighting the core mechanisms such as self-attention, multi-head attention, and positional encoding that distinguish them from CNNs. We delve into the theoretical adaptations required to apply transformers to visual data, including image tokenization and the integration of positional embeddings. A detailed analysis of key transformer-based vision architectures such as ViT, DeiT, Swin Transformer, PVT, Twins, and CrossViT are presented, alongside their practical applications in image classification, object detection, video understanding, medical imaging, and cross-modal tasks. The paper further compares the performance of vision transformers with CNNs, examining their respective strengths, limitations, and the emergence of hybrid models. Finally, current challenges in deploying ViTs, such as computational cost, data efficiency, and interpretability, and explore recent advancements and future research directions including efficient architectures, self-supervised learning, and multimodal integration are discussed. © 2013 IEEE.
