In response to the escalating demand for electricity, the aging process and inherent failures in power lines have become unavoidable challenges in their operational integrity. This research addresses the imperative need for a robust method to detect damage in power insulator disc images, introducing a novel feature extraction technique grounded in color intensity profile transformation and ensemble learning. For the purposes of the research, a specific dataset was developed based on publicly available images of power insulators. The collection consists of 9232 images of insulator discs which included 2184 images of damaged discs. The discernible damages include breakages and burnouts. Two distinct analysis variants were employed. In the first variant (V1), two classification groups were selected: disc with damages and disc without damages. In the second variant (V2), three classification groups were selected: discs without damage, broken discs, and burnout discs. The described research was divided into two successive stages. In the first of them (S1), the transformed color intensity profiles for the prepared data set were built and various machine learning models for their classification were trained and evaluated. In the next stage (S2), previously developed, highest efficient machine learning models, were used to make the detection of various damaged types of overhead line insulator discs. For the first stage of research high-performance results and a high value of the F1 score parameters were obtained (F1 score = 0.999 for the first variant (S1V1) and F1 score = 0.992 for the second variant (S1V2). In the second stage of research and the first variant (S2V1), the highest result of the F1 score was 0.932 and for the second variant (S2V2) F1 score was 0.930. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Ad hoc, on-demand distance vector routing and dynamic video streaming techniques are used with the aim of increasing the throughput of the video streaming application. Two categories have been distinguished. Dynamic video streaming is the purview of Group 1, and vector routing is the domain of Group 2. The dynamic video streaming method was run with a sample size of 155, an enrolment ratio of 1.1, alpha and beta values of 0.05 and 0.5, and a 95% confidence level. It was also run with a variable number of trials. For this research, the G-power Pretest value is 85%. When it comes to wormhole prediction, the dynamic video streaming mechanism yields 1.57 throughput, while the distance vector navigation on-demand and ad hoc mechanism yields 1.76. Given the circumstances the healthcare system, the Internet of Things (IoT) is crucial. IoT gadgets offer patient data for the framework of healthcare monitoring. IoT is a key component in every aspect of the health care management system since people can use smart devices to check on their health. Lung cancer is a fatal malignancy, and the likelihood of survival is increased by early identification. Because of the computational difficulty involved in gathering characteristics, it is imperative to design an approach using machine learning techniques for categorising cancer disease because the classification results given by the current methods are inadequate. With the use of the synthetic minority oversampling methods (SMOTE) methodology, the incoming data is pre-processed and balanced. With the help of the binary grey wolf optimisation algorithm (BGWOA), the pertinent features are best chosen. Finally, the suggested model's hyper-parameters are best chosen by the tunicate swarm optimisation (TSA) model, and the classification is carried out by the extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) model. The experimental analysis demonstrates that the suggested model attained accuracy and recall values of 98% and 95%, respectively, compared to 95% and 95%, respectively, for the identical proposed model without the feature selection (FS) method. © 2023 IEEE.

By introducing this collaborative filtering algorithm, which is dependent on machine learning that can be used in enhancing the user-based recommendation systems, this paper is trying to achieve more advanced personalized recommendation systems. Utilizing recent innovative designs of networks together with relevant contextual information, the algorithm provides high accuracy recommendation, scalability, and aids in improving user experience than traditional approaches. The model is shown to perform exceedingly well in all respects by its being subjected to a thorough assessment and compared with the baseline and enhanced models. It joins ranks with the best in all the indices of performance like precision, recall, F1-score, mean average precision and user satisfaction. In addition, hyperparameter tuning, and scalability metrics, so ending efficiency for model configuring and deployment recommendation models which could deal with large-scale datasets and offer users timely suggestions are of vital importance. To summarize, these results highlight the disruptive character of the latest machine learning algorithms that might create a new reality of recommendation systems with the trend of the time of individualization of relationships in the digital world. ©2024 IEEE.

Video frame interpolation has made great progress in estimating advanced optical flow and synthesizing in-between frames sequentially. However, frame interpolation involving various resolutions and motions remains challenging due to limited or fixed pre-trained networks. Inspired by the success of the coarse-to-fine scheme for video frame interpolation, i.e., gradually interpolating frames of different resolutions, we propose a progressive boosting network (ProBoost-Net) based on a multi-scale framework to achieve flexible recurrent scales and then gradually optimize optical flow estimation and frame interpolation. Specifically, we designed a dense motion boosting (DMB) module to transfer features close to real motion to the decoded features from the later scales, which provides complementary information to refine the motion further. Furthermore, to ensure the accuracy of the estimated motion features at each scale, we propose a motion adaptive fusion (MAF) module that adaptively deals with motions with different receptive fields according to the motion conditions. Thanks to the framework’s flexible recurrent scales, we can customize the number of scales and make trade-offs between computation and quality depending on the application scenario. Extensive experiments with various datasets demonstrated the superiority of our proposed method over state-of-the-art approaches in various scenarios. © 2023 institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc.. One of the segmentation techniques with the greatest degree of success used in numerous recent applications is multi-level thresholding. The selection of appropriate threshold values presents difficulties for traditional methods, however, and, as a result, techniques have been developed to address these difficulties multidimensionally. Such approaches have been shown to be an efficient way of identifying the areas affected in multi-cancer cases in order to define the treatment area. Multi-cancer methods that facilitate a certain degree of competence are thus required. This study tested storing MRI brain scans in a multidimensional image database, which is a significant departure from past studies, as a way to improve the efficacy, efficiency, and sensitivity of cancer detection. The evaluation findings offered success rates for cancer diagnoses of 99.08%, 99.87%, 94%;97.08%, 98.3%, and 93.38% sensitivity;the success rates of in particular were 99.99%;98.23%, 99.53%, and 99.98%. © 2023 Slovene Society Informatika. It is necessary to collect data measured in open lands, whether for example for monitoring purposes or for border protection. The process of data transmission from active nodes and its next level to the cluster head (CH), followed by follow-up to arrive at the base station (BS), with safety and acceptability, are the main objectives of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). The key benefits of wireless systems are low-cost system installation and loss-free data transfer. Weather conditions in the spacious area affect wireless data transmission that is done between sensor nodes in free space. This study attempted to ascertain the influence of atmospheric and meteorological conditions on the loss of data when utilizing the wireless data transmission systems in a wireless sensor network. For this reason, the volume of data transfer losses that happen in free space because of three types of weather conditions is the main discussion point. The meteorological criteria that can be considered in this research are temperature, clear weather, dust, and rain as the weather elements that affect the Iraqi climate. The correlation analysis's outcomes show that the amount of precipitation and the size of raindrops have a main effect on the losses of data transmission. From a practical point of view, there is no confirmed statistical evidence of the amount of loss in the volume of transmitted data as a result of the amount of rainfall with the use of different transmission frequencies. In this research, we designed an objective routing protocol called Fuzzy Clustering with Ant Colony System FCACS, which has been utilized as a simulation program using the MATLAB 2018b application. The practical results of the proposed protocol for data transmission in free space and under different weather conditions were examined, and the simulation results were compared with those of two well-known routing protocols, which are DEEC and Z-SEP. The concept of privacy-by-design has gained considerable attention in the wake of legal requirements that software systems should fulfill. The interconnected knowledge on privacy concepts, legal requirements, and software development artifacts required to implement this concept can be a major burden for organizations. To address this challenge, we propose a knowledge graph-based Exploratory Search system to help organizations complete privacy engineering tasks. We identify major requirements of such systems and develop an Exploratory Search prototype built on privacy engineering knowledge that integrates different information sources. While still preliminary, this work serves as a foundation for future research on integrating privacy knowledge into software development and demonstrates the potential of Exploratory Search Systems to support the cognitive process in privacy tasks such as privacy threat identification. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

A host-switch graph was originally proposed as a graph that represents a network topology of a computer systems with 1-port host computers and (Formula presented.) -port switches. It has been studied from both theoretical and practical aspects in terms of the diameter, the average shortest path length, and the performance of real applications. In recent high-performance computing systems, however, a host computer is connected to multiple switches by using InfiniBand, NVSwitch, or Omni-Path, and consequently they provide high bandwidths. Since a host-switch graph cannot represent such systems, this article extends a host-switch graph so that it can represent such systems. As a result, a host-switch graph can include multi-ported hosts. Furthermore, we propose to use multi-port hosts for reducing the diameter. We show that the diameter minimization is equivalent to solving the degree diameter problem for bipartite graphs of diameter three. Our experimental results show that we can drastically reduce the diameter as well as increasing the bandwidth and improves performance of MPI applications by up to 162% as compared with networks with single-ported hosts. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
