Features Responsible for Spread of Zoonotic Disease Brucella: A Study on Central India Population

Zoonotic diseases pose a growing health risk in developing nations because of the ongoing animal-human interaction. India has experienced significant urbanization in recent years, with a large population migration from rural to urban areas. One of the most common and feared risks to which humans are exposed is zoonotic diseases. Numerous studies conducted in India have identified specific zoonoses, such as Listeriosis, Brucellosis, and Bovine tuberculosis, as extremely important to human health. The rough set method is appropriate for several real-world applications and is a component of the computing strategy. Rough sets offer several noteworthy benefits. The rough sets encounter small data sets and provide helpful techniques for revealing hidden patterns in data. In this work, a cross-sectional study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of zoonosis in the Central India Population. Three states were studied for zoonotic infection prevalence, including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. A total of 7026 samples were recruited by inclusion and exclusion criteria for the study. The lifestyle and animal exposure data of this population was collected and tested for Brucella. On this data, the rough set approach yielded an accuracy of 87.5% for the Brucella-infected case. Our approach has resulted in selecting features responsible for diagnosing the lifestyle parameters which could result in the spread of Brucella. The matching and linear matroid intersection problems are solvable in quasi-NC, meaning that there exist deterministic algorithms that run in polylogarithmic time and use quasi-polynomially many parallel processors. However, such a parallel algorithm is unknown for linear matroid matching, which generalizes both of these problems. In this work, we propose a quasi-NC algorithm for fractional linear matroid matching, which is a relaxation of linear matroid matching and commonly generalizes fractional matching and linear matroid intersection. Our algorithm builds upon the connection of fractional matroid matching to non-commutative Edmonds' problem recently revealed by Oki and Soma (2023). The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the technologies that will be used all over the world in the future, and its security and privacy features are the primary concerns. However, the most critical limitation to overcome before the IoT's widespread use is addressing its security concerns. One of the most critical tasks to address the security problems posed by the IoT is the detection of network intrusions. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) for the IoT face substantial challenges because of the functional and physical diversity of the devices. In the rapidly growing IoT industry, the use of IDS is essential for ensuring security since many devices communicate efficiently. IDS are crucial for continual monitoring and responding to any security risks, ensuring the integrity and reliability of interconnected IoT networks. The primary objective of this research is to develop a feature-selection-based intrusion classification model. Therefore, we develop an IoT-IDS feature selection-based classification model to detect intrusions. We propose a metaheuristic algorithm, the Chaotic Vortex Search (CVS) algorithm, for feature selection. The Fast-Learning Network (FLN), an artificial neural network (ANN) model, is additionally proposed for classification. We use the IDS datasets, such as CIC IDS-2017 and BoT-IoT, to evaluate our research model. To test and validate the proposed model, extensive experiments were performed, and the outcomes stated that the CVS-FLN model achieved 99.77% accuracy, 99.92% specificity, 99.60% precision, 99.81% detection rate, and a 99.72% F1-score in the CIC IDS dataset, and 99.68% accuracy, 99.30% precision, 99.83% specificity, 99.11% detection rate, and a 99.21% F1-score in evaluating the BoT-IoT dataset. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Corrosion poses a significant challenge in industries due to material degradation and high maintenance costs, making effective inhibitors essential. Recent studies suggest expired pharmaceuticals as alternative corrosion inhibitors, but identifying the most efficient compounds can be time-consuming. This study applies machine learning models, particularly Gradient Boosting Regressor (GBR), to predict corrosion inhibition efficiency (CIE). The developed model is integrated into a web-based application, enabling real-time, accurate CIE predictions. Results show GBR as the more precise model for predicting CIE, with low error rates. The streamlit-based web application offers a user-friendly platform, facilitating quick identification of suitable inhibitors. It is flexible, supporting analysis beyond corrosion inhibitors, and significantly enhances the efficiency of the evaluation process. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Cross-Layer Distributed Attack Detection Model for the IoT

The security of IoT that is based on layered approaches has shortcomings such as the redundancy, inflexibility, and inefficiently of security solutions. There are many harmful attacks in IoT networks such as DoS and DDoS attacks, which can compromise the IoT architecture in all layers. Consequently, cross layer approach is proposed as an effective and practical security defending mechanism. Cross-layer distributed attack detection model (CLDAD) is proposed to enhance security solutions for IoT environments. CLDAD presents a general detection method of DDoS in sensing layer, network layer, and application layer. CLDAD is based on big data analytics techniques, which enable the detection process to be performed in a distributed way, so the model can detect DDoS attacks in any layer on-the-fly and the model support the scalability of the IoT environment. CLDAD is tested based on three datasets, namely artificial jamming attack dataset, BoT-IoT dataset, and BoT-IoT-based HTTP. Advancing Brain Tumor Analysis through Dynamic Hierarchical Attention for Improved Segmentation and Survival Prognosis

Gliomas,the most prevalent primary brain tumors,require accurate segmentation for diagnosis and risk *** this paper,we develop a novel deep learning-based method,the Dynamic Hierarchical Attention for Improved Segmentation and Survival Prognosis(DHA-ISSP)*** DHA-ISSP model combines a three-band 3D convolutional neural network(CNN)U-Net architecture with dynamic hierarchical attention mechanisms,enabling precise tumor segmentation and survival *** DHA-ISSP model captures fine-grained details and contextual information by leveraging attention mechanisms at multiple levels,enhancing segmentation *** achieving remarkable results,our approach surpasses 369 competing teams in the 2020 Multimodal Brain Tumor Segmentation *** a Dice similarity coefficient of 0.89 and a Hausdorff distance of 4.8 mm,the DHA-ISSP model demonstrates its effectiveness in accurately segmenting brain *** also extract radio mic characteristics from the segmented tumor areas using the DHA-ISSP *** applying cross-validation of decision trees to the selected features,we identify crucial predictors for glioma survival,enabling personalized treatment *** the DHA-ISSP model and the desired features,we assess patients’overall survival and categorize survivors into short,mid,in addition to long *** proposed work achieved impressive performance metrics,including the highest accuracy of 0.91,precision of 0.84,recall of 0.92,F1 score of 0.88,specificity of 0.94,sensitivity of 0.92,area under the curve(AUC)value of 0.96,and the lowest mean absolute error value of 0.09 and mean squared error value of *** results clearly demonstrate the superiority of the proposed system in accurately segmenting brain tumors and predicting survival outcomes,highlighting its significant merit and potential for clinical applications.

Federated Feature Concatenate Method for Heterogeneous Computing in Federated Learning

Federated learning is an emerging machine learning techniquethat enables clients to collaboratively train a deep learning model withoutuploading raw data to the aggregation server. Each client may be equippedwith different computing resources for model training. The client equippedwith a lower computing capability requires more time for model training,resulting in a prolonged training time in federated learning. Moreover, it mayfail to train the entire model because of the out-of-memory issue. This studyaims to tackle these problems and propose the federated feature concatenate(FedFC) method for federated learning considering heterogeneous *** leverages the model splitting and feature concatenate for offloadinga portion of the training loads from clients to the aggregation server. Eachclient in FedFC can collaboratively train a model with different cutting ***, the specific features learned in the deeper layer of the serversidemodel are more identical for the data class classification. Accordingly,FedFC can reduce the computation loading for the resource-constrainedclient and accelerate the convergence time. The performance effectiveness isverified by considering different dataset scenarios, such as data and classimbalance for the participant clients in the experiments. The performanceimpacts of different cutting layers are evaluated during the model *** experimental results show that the co-adapted features have a criticalimpact on the adequate classification of the deep learning model. Overall,FedFC not only shortens the convergence time, but also improves the bestaccuracy by up to 5.9% and 14.5% when compared to conventional federatedlearning and splitfed, respectively. In conclusion, the proposed approach isfeasible and effective for heterogeneous clients in federated learning.
