Public speaking is the most common form of fear, and everyone feels uneasy with it. Fear of speaking in public is commonly called "glossophobia, " where people are discouraged from speaking in front of people due to embarrassment and rejection. Public speaking anxiety (PSA) is one of the most universal subtypes of anxiety where people fear, lose their confidence, and become uncomfortable physically and mentally. But public speaking is considered important in the educational sector and workplaces, where people get higher opportunities. Therefore, clubs like Toastmasters help people overcome their fear of public speaking and improve their confidence. We are launching the idea of a Smart Monitoring and Reporting Toastmasters System for people to improve their public speaking so they do not need a supervisor or mentor to train them. This smart monitoring system recognizes the candidate through image processing and deep learning. Moreover, this will analyze some features from the candidates' speeches, such as facial emotion recognition, speech recognition, hand and body gesture recognition, and the candidates' attire and appearance separately. This system will identify their mistakes and flaws and provide overall feedback to the users on the speech provided by the candidate. By implementing this web application, users can train themselves without a supervisor, and they can improve themselves and gain the confidence to participate in a Toastmasters competition as perfect candidates. © 2022 IEEE.

In recent years, the country has released a large number of standard documents related to prefabricated concrete components. Due to the dispersion and complexity of these standards, it is difficult for industry managers to implement them. Therefore, it is imperative to establish a knowledge graph in the field of quality standards for precast concrete components to achieve knowledge management. The construction of knowledge graph first requires named entity recognition, but due to the specificity of the construction industry, entity recognition of the text in this field still suffers from the problems of low recognition accuracy and high resource consumption. Aiming at the low recognition accuracy and high resource consumption in named entity recognition due to the specificity of the industry, this paper proposes a named entity recognition model ALBERT-BiLSTM-SA-CRF for the field of precast concrete component quality standard, which can capture the full text and local feature information more effectively through the combination of BiLSTM and self-attention mechanism, and accurately recognize entities in the standard. Meanwhile, using ALBERT as the word embedding layer can play the role of reducing resource consumption and improving processing efficiency. © 2025 The Authors.

Deep Learning Based Take-Over Performance Prediction and Its Application on Intelligent Vehicles

Take-over performance plays a significant role in evaluating drivers' state, and serves as a crucial reference for enhancing control transitions in the context of conditionally automated driving. In this study, we aim to predict minimum anticipated collision time (min ACT), an indicator of drivers' take-over performance, in expectation of promoting safer take-overs via deep learning, so that drivers' state detriment of take-over safety could be adjusted accordingly with intelligent human-machine interaction algorithms predictably. By incorporating multi-source information including drivers' state, drivers' demographics, surrounding traffic features as well as driver-vehicle interaction characteristics, network model “ACTNet” was proposed to facilitate continuous estimation. Depthwise separable convolution and non-local self-attention were utilized to prevent overfitting and establish spatial dependency over fixation heatmap, respectively. To overcome data distribution imbalance, class balanced loss was used in conjunction with regression loss to realize more accurate predictions. Driving simulator experiment was conducted with dataset collected for the subsequent verification of the proposed algorithm. Potentialities of deep learning methods were highlighted for take-over studies, contributing to the design of intelligent human-machine interaction systems in conditional automation. Our findings present a valid method of deep learning in predicting drivers' take-over performance and meanwhile have implications for the development of intelligent adaptive take-over time budget regulation and dynamic drivers' state adjustment algorithms. Children are the future of this world. Therefore, teaching them to have a better future is very important. Also, as the adults we have to motivate them to overcome the obstacles and challenges they face throughout their lifetime. When considering about the children, there are various types of children in our society. As examples there are children with special needs and there are children who are mentally and physically stable. Children with special needs require special attention than the other children. These kinds of children with special needs have various types of development disabilities. They are children with low psychological maturity level, autism, down syndrome, genetic disorders etc. We have proposed a system to motivate these children who are with low psychological maturity level named as 'STEP-UP'. This system is a combination of four individual modules that have the common goal to motivate these kinds of children which were implemented using gamification, Image processing, machine learning and Human computer Interaction. One individual module is focused on disabled children, and it will motivate those children using gamification. Another two modules are focusing on the children who are with low psychological maturity level. And that will motivate those kinds of children using gamification and HCI based technologies like Virtual Reality. The other module is a protocol to secure the data sent between the system and the database. The common goal of this overall STEP-UP system is to motivate the children with low psychological maturity level and disabled children. © 2022 IEEE.

People take various types of cereals every day in their regular meals, but most people do not know their importance while consuming them. Each cereal has its benefit. One such cereal content is dry beans. Dry beans are a variety of beans that are produced in pods. These dry beans can be cooked and eaten, and it has numerous proteins and vitamins and are highly beneficial for our health. It also provides excellent immunity. Each bean has its characteristics, which can be identified with its unique features. These can be oval or kidney-shaped or even without a proper shape. According to their shape and features, they are classified separately. These nutrient-rich beans have to be classified based on their shapes. Human eyes sometimes may oversee or misclassify these tiny cereals for classification. This work involves the classification of 7 such dry bean varieties utilizing a deep learning context. The dataset utilized in this paper includes 13611 dry bean data for seven different UCI Machine learning repositories. In this work, we have taken seven different categorical labels: the dry bean varieties. The classification is done using deep learning techniques, and here we have utilized the Keras Sequential Algorithm for the classification. It is a supervised learning concept of machine learning used to predict two or more categorical labels. With the help of the deep learning approach, these dry beans are classified and obtained an accuracy of 94.88%. © 2023 IEEE.

Molecular subtyping of cancer is recognized as a critical and challenging upstream task for personalized therapy. Existing deep learning methods have achieved significant performance in this domain when abundant data samples are available. However, the acquisition of densely labeled samples for cancer molecular subtypes remains a significant challenge for conventional data-intensive deep learning approaches. In this work, we focus on the few-shot molecular subtype prediction problem in heterogeneous and small cancer datasets, aiming to enhance precise diagnosis and personalized treatment. We first construct a new few-shot dataset for cancer molecular subtype classification and auxiliary cancer classification, named TCGA Few-Shot, from existing publicly available datasets. To effectively leverage the relevant knowledge from both tasks, we introduce a task-specific embedding-based meta-learning framework (TSEML). TSEML leverages the synergistic strengths of a model-agnostic meta-learning (MAML) approach and a prototypical network (ProtoNet) to capture diverse and fine-grained features. Comparative experiments conducted on the TCGA FewShot dataset demonstrate that our TSEML framework achieves superior performance in addressing the problem of few-shot molecular subtype classification. © 2024 IEEE.

Due to its importance in studying people's thoughts on various Web 2.0 services, emotion classification is a critical undertaking. Most existing research is focused on the English language, with little work on low-resource languages. Though sentiment analysis, particularly emotion classification in English, has received increasing attention in recent years, little study has been done in the context of Bangla, one of the world's most widely spoken languages. In this research, we propose a complete set of approaches for identifying and extracting emotions from Bangla texts. We provide a Bangla emotion classifier for six classes, i.e., anger, disgust, fear, joy, sadness, and surprise, from Bangla words using transformer-based models, which exhibit phenomenal results in recent days, especially for high-resource languages. The Unified Bangla Multi-class Emotion Corpus (UBMEC) is used to assess the performance of our models. UBMEC is created by combining two previously released manually labelled datasets of Bangla comments on six emotion classes with fresh manually labelled Bangla comments created by us. The corpus dataset and code we used in this work are publicly available. © 2024 IEEE.

Multi-scale Promoted Self-adjusting Correlation Learning for Facial Action Unit Detection

Facial Action Unit (AU) detection is a crucial task in affective computing and social robotics as it helps to identify emotions expressed through facial expressions. Anatomically, there are innumerable correlations between AUs, which contain rich information and are vital for AU detection. Previous methods used fixed AU correlations based on expert experience or statistical rules on specific benchmarks, but it is challenging to comprehensively reflect complex correlations between AUs via hand-crafted settings. There are alternative methods that employ a fully connected graph to learn these dependencies exhaustively. However, these approaches can result in a computational explosion and high dependency with a large dataset. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel self-adjusting AU-correlation learning (SACL) method with less computation for AU detection. This method adaptively learns and updates AU correlation graphs by efficiently leveraging the characteristics of different levels of AU motion and emotion representation information extracted in different stages of the network. Moreover, this paper explores the role of multi-scale learning in correlation information extraction, and design a simple yet effective multi-scale feature learning (MSFL) method to promote better performance in AU detection. By integrating AU correlation information with multi-scale features, the proposed method obtains a more robust feature representation for the final AU detection. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on widely used AU detection benchmark datasets, with only 28.7% and 12.0% of the parameters and FLOPs of the best method, respectively.
