Within the field of software security we have yet to find efficient ways on how to learn from past mistakes and integrate security as a natural part of software development. This situation can be improved by using an online repository, the SHIELDS SVRS, that facilitates fast and easy interchange of security artefacts between security experts, software developers and their assisting tools. Such security artefacts are embedded in or represented as security models containing the needed information to detect, remove and prevent vulnerabilities in software, independent of the applied development process. The purpose of this paper is to explain the main reference architecture description of the repository and the more general tool stereotypes that can communicate with it.

Asynchronous motor is widely used in every field and department of people's daily life and in industry and agriculture. Electricity consumption of asynchronous motor is the main asynchronous motor. Now the whole society is calling for energy-saving and environment-protection. It is important to improve AC motor's energy efficiency level for energy-saving, environment-protection and fund-saving. The manual computation of stray load loss in electric motor is very complex and has low precision so the stray load loss test system for three-phase asynchronous motor was designed. It discussed the application of linear regression analysis method in stray loss analysis in detail, and the computation was implemented by MATLAB, and a DLL was generated, last the VC program does data acquisition and calls the DLL to fulfill computation.

Color laser printers are nowadays abused to print or forge official documents and bills. Identifying color laser printers will be a step for media forensics. This paper presents a new method to identify color laser printers with printed color images. First, 39 noise features of color printed images are extracted from the statistical analysis of the HH sub-band on discrete wavelet transform. Then, these features are applied to train and classify the support vector machine for identifying the color laser printer. In the experiment, 9 models of 4 brands, Xerox, Konica, HP, Canon, are tested to classify the brand of color laser printer, the color toner, and the model of color laser printer. The results prove that the presented identification method performs well using the noise features of color printed images.

Traffic accident scene processing is a significant content to traffic supervisory work. The development and application of photographic survey and the digital picture processing technology provide the powerful tool for solved this difficult problem. This article proposed applies binocular ranging to the traffic accident processes. We have priority introduced the technology of survey principle, image filtering and image match which used in this method.

Entity Homepage Recognition(EHR) is an important part of entity finding. In this paper, a method of EHR based on AdaBoost is proposed. With the help of Google, this method recalls pages related to answer entities and recognizes to obtain the relevant entity homepage. In detail, Person, Organization and Product, three types of entities are analyzed respectively and 3148 entities and the corresponding entity homepages are collected, besides, on the basis of entity characteristic, we define the entity features related to the features of link and webpage content, as well as, these features are extracted to form a training data set;And then using different learning algorithms with different features to identify the homepage to find the most effective classification features and homepage recognition learning algorithm. Experiments were done by employing the test data set of entity task in TREC-2009 and the method of 10-fold cross validation, the results show the best effects have been achieved by adopting the method of AdaBoost, specifically, combined with the features of link and webpage content, the recognition accuracy rate for right homepage reaches 91.34%. 1553-9105/ Copyright © 2009 Binary information Press.

This report summarizes the proceedings of the first day of the Metagenomics, Metadata and MetaAnalysis (M3) workshop held at the Intelligent Systems for Molecular Biology 2010 conference. The second day, which was dedicated to the inaugural meeting of the BioSharing initiative is presented in a separate report. The Genomic Standards Consortium (GSC) hosted the first day of this Special Interest Group (SIG) at ISMB to continue exploring the bottlenecks and emerging solutions for obtaining biological insights through large-scale comparative analysis of metagenomic datasets. The M3 SIG included invited and selected talks and a panel discussion at the end of the day involving the plenary speakers. In multicore environment, using multiple threads is a common useful approach to improve application performance. Nevertheless, even in many simple applications, the performance might degrade when the number of threads increases. Users usually impute this phenomenon to the overhead of creation or termination of threads. However, in our observation, the more significant effect is the dispatching of threads. We discuss the problems on using threads, and present a novel user dispatching mechanism (UDispatch) that provides controllability in user space to improve application performance. Since user threads cannot directly control system resources, a virtual device is adopted between user space and operating system for portability and efficiency instead of adding new system calls through kernel modification. We also experiment UDispatch through multithreading multimedia applications. The results show that a skipline application speeds up to 111.3% and 111.6% on a 4-core machine and an 8-core machine, respectively, and an optimized H.264/AVC decoder speeds up to 18.4% on a 4-core machine.

It is possible for vehicles moving on a highway to communicate with each other, if they are equipped with wireless interfaces. These vehicles, equipped with wireless connectivity, are referred to as nodes in a Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET). The more the number of nodes involved in a network at a time, the more is the power consumed by them, thereby adding to the average power consumption of the network and the transmission time. In this paper, we propose an efficient routing protocol, named as Efficient Angular Routing (EAR), which finds the minimum possible path length between a source and a destination involving minimum nodes to transmit data. information regarding the angular position of the nodes is exploited in selecting the most suitable node for transmission, thereby, achieving proper network connectivity among nodes with minimum power consumption. The proposed protocol has been compared with Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and DSR-with stale route removed (DSR-SRR). The results achieved establish the fact that the proposed protocol, EAR, outperforms DSR and DSR-SRR in terms of the average power consumption during transmission and the number of control packets used. The proposed protocol proves to work relatively better even under dense traffic conditions.

Repetitive processes are a distinct class of two-dimensional (2D) systems (i.e. information propagation in two independent directions occurs) of both systems theoretic and applications interest. They cannot be controlled by direct extension of existing techniques from either standard (termed 1D here) or (often) 2D systems theory. In this paper we begin the development a systems theory for a model of these processes necessary to represent terms which arise in some applications areas but are not included in the currently used models.

This paper is based on a course run in the fall semester 2008 with students from Sweden and USA where they addressed an open problem in the health sector. Part of the course for the students has been to review how the collaboration actually worked and with special attention to the collaboration platform used. The background to the course and process of choosing the collaborative platform, ClockingIT, is presented. The students' review was informed by engineering education research in order to understand the role of the technology used in their collaboration. The methods adopted by the students are outlined including their application of the Collaborative Technology Fit framework as introduced in the thesis by Clear. The role of 'ClockingIT', its effectiveness in supporting collaboration and the effectiveness of 'students as researchers' as a method for insightful reflection are presented.
