Unlike deterministic testing, it is unnecessary for scan-based BIST to apply a complete test vector into the circuit via the scan chains. A new scan-based BIST scheme is proposed by properly controlling the test signals of the scan chains. Different weighted random signals are assigned to the test signals of different scan chains. In the proposed test scheme, capture cycles can be inserted at any clock cycle. Testability calculation procedure according to the proposed testing scheme is presented. Techniques for selecting different weights on the test signals of the scan chains are also proposed. Experimental results show that the proposed method can improve the test effectiveness of scan-based BIST greatly, and most circuits can reach complete fault coverage or very close to complete fault coverage.

In this paper, we propose a novel active queue management (AQM) scheme based on the Random Early Detection (RED) of the loss ratio and the total sending rate control, called LRC-RED, to regulate the queue length with small variation and to achieve high utilization with small packet loss. This scheme measures the latest packet loss ratio, and uses it and the total sending rate as complements to queue length in order to dynamically adjust packet drop probability. Further, we also provide the design rules for this scheme based on the well-known TCP control model. On the basis of the design rules, we develop a simple, scalable and systematic rule for tuning the control parameters which can be adaptive to dynamic network conditions. Through ns 2 simulations, we show the faster response time and better robustness of the proposed LRC-RED as compared with the Loss Ratio based RED (LRED) [5] algorithm.

Quality of Service (QoS) management is critical for service-oriented enterprise architectures because services have different QoS characteristics, requesters have different requirements, and service interactions are decoupled. This paper proposes a QoS Management Architecture for dynamic processing of service- and flow-level quality attributes to support QoS requests and analyses in Web-service-oriented architectures. The architecture is implemented using Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL4WS), an interoperable integration model that facilitates automated process integration). The proposed approach extends BPEL4WS by integrating it with Web service-level agreements (WSLA) to support QoS and extending the BPEL4WS language to provide a new " " assertion that describes the location of a document's WSLA document. Under the proposed approach, quality attributes are defined, computed, and acted upon as dynamic characteristics of systems, with values constantly changing in operation The feasibility of the proposed approach is demonstrated using an illustrative travel reservation service flow example.

In recent years, more and more people studied the Bayesian networks learning algorithm that integrates independence test with scoring metric. Based on the proposed hybrid algorithm I-B&B-MDL, a modified method is developed. There are two major contributions. Firstly, order-0 and partial order-1 independence tests are used to obtain an original graph of the network, which reduces the number of independence tests and database passes while effectively restricting the search space. Secondly, by means of the heuristic knowledge of mutual information, sort order for candidate parent nodes increases the cut-offs of the B&B search tree and accelerates search process. The experimental results show that the modified algorithm has high accuracy, and is more efficient in time complexity than other algorithms.

Cheng and Church algorithm is an important approach in biclustering algorithms. In this paper, the process of the extended space in the second stage of Cheng and Church algorithm is improved and the selections of two important parameters are discussed. The results of the improved algorithm used in the gene expression spectrum analysis show that, compared with Cheng and Church algorithm, the quality of clustering results is enhanced obviously, the mining expression models are better, and the data possess a strong consistency with fluctuation on the condition while the computational time does not increase significantly.

They cannot be controlled by direct extension of existing techniques from either standard (termed 1D here) or 2D systems theory.
