Edge caching is a promising technologies, which enhances content delivery and reduces service latency by caching potentially interested content and services on edge nodes near users. Due to constraints such as limited edge server capacities and unstable communications in a highly dynamic MEC environment, caching and content delivery are prone to failures and inconsistencies. Consequently, redundant caching mechanisms are in high need as counter measures in this paper, we proposes a novel redundant service caching and task offloading Decision (FT-STD) method. Specifically, we utilize the primary backup (PB) approach for offloading fault tolerance and employ a learning-based algorithm for yielding redundant service caching schedules in MEC. Simulation results demonstrate thatclearly outperforms its peers across multiple performance metrics. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Recently Smart Home concept has been a popular choice as a solution for emerging security related problems. The primary objective of this research was to create a cyber-threat free fully functioning smart home monitoring and anti-theft alarming system with enhanced physical security mechanisms. The focus of this research was to create a holistic and secure smart home system, combining cutting-edge physical security measures. The study introduced novel Intruder Access Prevention methods rooted in human behavior and voice pattern recognition, while also incorporating blockchain and network traffic analysis to safeguard the homeowner's data. Furthermore, a pioneering voice-controlled monitoring mechanism, utilizing protective energy-saving plug technology, was devised to enhance safety within contemporary households. The human behavior recognition and voice recognition-based intruder access prevention system demonstrated over 80% accuracy in intruder prevention, while user data protection mechanism prevents the communication channel from cyber hackings. Further, the smart plug demonstrates reliable and accurate physical environment monitoring with minimum latency. These results underscore the system's significant contribution to home security, marking a noteworthy advancement in the Smart Home concept.

Today's computer networks are threatened by Trojan horse assaults and other cybersecurity dangers. We propose and evaluate deep learning methods using the Kaggle-hosted Trojan Detection dataset to detect Trojan horse assaults. This project uses these approaches. Our malware detection technology uses CNN classification for accuracy. We clean and enhance the dataset to make the model more versatile. Due to extensive testing and optimization, Trojan horse detection rates reach 98.47%. We found that the deep learning architecture accurately identifies malware. We also discuss CNN model features that illuminate Trojan horse attacks. The technique offers complete cyber security and expands our knowledge of harmful software. Deep learning may boost cybersecurity defenses against emerging attacks like Trojan horses, according to our study. © 2024 IEEE.

Rapid urbanization and increasing income levels combined with poor and insufficient road network to accommodate vehicles is causing a major traffic problem in Sri Lanka. Additionally, in urban areas, traffic congestion is leading to an increase in air and noise pollution as well. Numerous solutions were tried by authorities, yet no promising results were yielded to address these issues successfully. Contrastingly, increasing road network capacity to solve this problem is very costly and feasible only up to a certain point. Another option is to limit the number of vehicles in the city either by law or by alternative means such as ride-sharing. The best ride-sharing method available is the public transportation, however, due to the limitations of it, upper middle-class opt not to use those hence use their own vehicle to get the expected comfortability. This study is aimed at developing a ride-sharing application by profiling the users based on user reputations, vehicle type, socioeconomic variables such as education, social status, and security concerns of the users, and user ratings. Unlike existing carpooling applications that primarily depend on cost and destination to offer ride options, the proposed application further developed to consider the model of the vehicle for fare calculation. © 2021 IEEE.

Unemployment is a huge problem around the world because a lack of job opportunities. People are unable to find the job opportunities according to their preferences and qualifications. As a solution for this, many countries are attempting to empower self-employment. Most of current world problems have been solved using modern technologies. Therefore, the development of self-employment also can be achieved through modern technology. The objective of our proposed platform, HIRELANCER, is empowering self-employment using modern technologies. HIRELANCER is bringing the consumers, service providers, and suppliers into the same platform. HIRELANCER will consist of innovative features that go beyond comparatively to other platforms such as an advanced mechanism to find best suitable service providers/suppliers for the service, handling the virtual front-desk, cost estimation for the services prior to contacting a service provider, and advanced facility to find a suitable career path for the people who are seeking career guidance. This research paper discusses how the innovative features of HIRELANCER will be beneficial for consumers, service providers, and suppliers and ultimately achieve our main objective, which is empowering self-employment in Sri Lanka. © 2021 IEEE.

Semi-rPPG: Semi-Supervised Remote Physiological Measurement with Curriculum Pseudo-Labeling

Remote Photoplethysmography (rPPG) is a promising technique to monitor physiological signals such as heart rate from facial videos. However, the labeled facial videos in this research are challenging to collect. Current rPPG research is mainly based on several small public datasets collected in simple environments, which limits the generalization and scale of the AI models. Semi-supervised methods that leverage a small amount of labeled data and abundant unlabeled data can fill this gap for rPPG learning. In this study, a novel semi-supervised learning method named Semi-rPPG that combines curriculum pseudo-labeling and consistency regularization is proposed to extract intrinsic physiological features from unlabelled data without impairing the model from noises. Specifically, a curriculum pseudo-labeling strategy with signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) criteria is proposed to annotate the unlabelled data while adaptively filtering out the low-quality unlabelled data. Besides, a novel consistency regularization term for quasi-periodic signals is proposed through weak and strong augmented clips. To benefit the research on semi-supervised rPPG measurement, we establish a novel semi-supervised benchmark for rPPG learning through intra-dataset and cross-dataset evaluation on four public datasets. The proposed Semi-rPPG method achieves the best results compared with three classical semi-supervised methods under different protocols. Existing face forgery detection methods achieve promising performance when training and testing forgery data are from identical manipulation types, while they fail to generalize well to unseen samples. In this paper, we experimentally investigate and find that the poor generalization of the methods mainly arises from their overfitting on the known fake patterns. Excessively focused on seen fakes, those detectors fail to effectively learn image-intrinsic information and the distributional disparity between real and fake images. Then, to address this issue, we redefine fake learning as real-fake distributional disparity learning. We propose a novel deepfake detection framework learning distributional disparity based on the differentiated reconstruction on real and fake images for improved generalization. Specifically, distributional disparity learning on differentiated reconstruction of the real and fake images, enforces the model to learn image-invariant intrinsic representations. The reconstruction on real and fake images forces the decoders to learn the distribution of real and fake images, respectively. Moreover, to avoid the influence from the specificalization of the known fake patterns, we further propose the information interaction learning on the encoded intrinsic information and the pixel disparity between the input image and its reconstruction to distinguish face forgeries that are even unknown. Extensive experiments on large-scale benchmark datasets demonstrated the effectiveness of addressing the overfitting issue of the classification network, and verified the superior performance of our method. Accurately synthesizing talking face videos and capturing fine facial features for individuals with long hair presents a significant challenge. To tackle these challenges in existing methods, we propose a decomposed per-embedding Gaussian fields (DEGSTalk), a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS)-based talking face synthesis method for generating realistic talking faces with long hairs. Our DEGSTalk employs Deformable Pre-Embedding Gaussian Fields, which dynamically adjust pre-embedding Gaussian primitives using implicit expression coefficients. This enables precise capture of dynamic facial regions and subtle expressions. Additionally, we propose a Dynamic Hair-Preserving Portrait Rendering technique to enhance the realism of long hair motions in the synthesized videos. Results show that DEGSTalk achieves improved realism and synthesis quality compared to existing approaches, particularly in handling complex facial dynamics and hair preservation. High-resolution point clouds (HRPCD) anomaly detection (AD) plays a critical role in precision machining and high-end equipment manufacturing. Despite considerable 3D-AD methods that have been proposed recently, they still cannot meet the requirements of the HRPCD-AD task. There are several challenges: i) It is difficult to directly capture HRPCD information due to large amounts of points at the sample level;ii) The advanced transformer-based methods usually obtain anisotropic features, leading to degradation of the representation;iii) The proportion of abnormal areas is very small, which makes it difficult to characterize. To address these challenges, we propose a novel group-level feature-based network, called Group3AD, which has a significantly efficient representation ability. First, we design an Intercluster Uniformity Network (IUN) to present the mapping of different groups in the feature space as several clusters, and obtain a more uniform distribution between clusters representing different parts of the point clouds in the feature space. Then, an Intracluster Alignment Network (IAN) is designed to encourage groups within the cluster to be distributed tightly in the feature space. In addition, we propose an Adaptive Group-Center Selection (AGCS) based on geometric information to improve the pixel density of potential anomalous regions during inference. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of our proposed Group3AD, which surpasses Reg3D-AD by the margin of 5% in terms of object-level AUROC on Real3D-AD. The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, big data, and generative AI models has ushered in significant transformations across various sectors, including education. Digital Human Technique, an innovative technology grounded in advanced computer science and artificial intelligence, is reshaping educational paradigms by enabling virtual humans to simulate human behavior, express emotions, and interact with users. This paper explores the application of Digital Human Technique in education reform, focusing on creating immersive, intelligent classroom experiences that foster meaningful interactions between teachers and students. We define Digital Human Technique and delve into its key technical components such as character modeling and rendering, natural language processing, computer vision, and augmented reality technologies. Our methodology involves analyzing the role of educational digital humans created through these technologies, assessing their impact on educational processes, and examining various application scenarios in educational reform. Results indicate that Digital Human Technique significantly enhances the learning experience by enabling personalized teaching, increasing engagement, and fostering emotional connections. Educational digital humans serve as virtual teachers, interactive learning aids, and facilitators of emotional interaction, effectively addressing the challenges of traditional educational methods.
