Synchronization is an important concept in parallel computing. Students are usually introduced to this topic during their undergraduate studies in courses devoted to operating systems or parallel computing. In this paper, we present some aspects of teaching a synchronization module in a parallel computing course and discuss the advantages of assigning students practical programming problems inspired by classical synchronization challenges, such as the "Dining Philosophers"problem. © 2023 IEEE.

A network with critical data streams, where the timing of incoming and outgoing data is a necessity, is called a deterministic network. These networks are mostly used in association with real-time systems that use periodic hard-real-time data which need to be scheduled. The algorithm proposed in this paper is focused on achieving the lowest possible latency within the specified network topology depending on the physical parameters of the network and the periodic requirements of the communicating nodes. The algorithm allows to add priorities to the data flow between nodes and also the option to specify if preemption is allowed within the network, since not all devices support it. The result is a schedule of hard-real-time data communication within a specified network topology where all requirements of communicating nodes are met if such a solution is possible. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

In the context of serious game design and development, it is important to consider the role of game-based pedagogies and didactics, which are also key elements of the game development. The ever-changing landscape of technology and the evolving processes of games themselves necessitate the development of novel methodologies that are grounded in pedagogical and didactic principles. This is crucial to ensure that the game effectively fulfils its primary objective, which is to facilitate the acquisition and comprehension of the subject matter by students. Game-based pedagogies employ the use of serious games as a means of achieving desired learning outcomes. In order to achieve the aforementioned goals, it is essential to be aware of the specific pedagogical and didactic principles that will be employed during the various stages of the game, which can be understood as game mechanics. © 2024 IEEE.

The theses is in line with works aimed at studying the possibility of using mathematical algorithms for parallel processing of information in reverse blockchain technology. The paper examines the use of parallel signal processing algorithms to improve the speed and quality of control systems for autonomous dynamic objects using reverse blockchain technology. The use of reverse blockchain technology is due to the possibility of loss of control signals and, at the same time, the inadmissibility of loss of control in the event of changes in the conditions and parameters of the operation of the obj ect. The purpose of the work is to analyze the implementation of solutions for parallel information processing for various models of industrially produced equipment and to develop solutions to increase the efficiency of reverse blockchain technology when using parallel data processing. © 2024 IEEE.

Serious games have emerged as valuable tools for training in various domains, making them an essential component of training and coaching programs aimed at enhancing skills and knowledge. This study aims to explore the potential of SGs in collecting and analyzing data using neuro and biofeedback techniques. Specifically, we focus on selected methods for data analysis, including eye-tracking, electroencephalography (EEG), heart rate variability (HRV), and electro-dermal activity (EDA). The objective is to investigate how playing SGs can facilitate the collection and analysis of these types of data. © 2023 IEEE.

The attack surface refers to all potential points of entry in a system that an attacker could exploit. In this work, we present an advanced metric for calculating the attack surface of web applications by leveraging the capabilities of large language models (LLMs) and introducing new features based on recent evaluations of the OWASP Top 10 security risks. Incorporating 28 parameters across 9 main categories and drawing on past studies to address previously identified limitations, this metric provides a comprehensive assessment of the attack surface. The Euclidean norm of the metric allows for quantitative comparisons, enabling precise evaluation and monitoring of security risks. Additionally, we develop a tool to facilitate the calculation of attack surface parameters, with the source code available as open source. The tool features an interface that visualizes the attack surface vector, presenting the metrics of web applications in graphical form. Among its many uses, web security analysts can employ our metric and tool to monitor changes in an application's attack surface across different versions. We also provide recommendations for further improving attack surface metric calculations using LLMs. © 2024 IEEE.

The pervasive integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across diverse sectors, from economy to health, has brought forth transformative benefits. Yet, this transformation is accompanied by intricate ethical quandaries and potential hazards. These include privacy breaches, bias, discrimination, opacity, and the erosion of human dignity. Such concerns hold the potential to erode public trust and impede the societal and legal advancement of AI systems. Consequently, ensuring an ethical and responsible AI development approach that upholds human values and rights becomes imperative. This paper offers an extensive and critical examination of the central ethical challenges originating from the emergence and deployment of AI systems. It also delves into established ethical frameworks, such as those introduced by the European Commission, IEEE, and OECD, while highlighting existing gaps like enforceability, inclusivity, and stakeholder engagement. Furthermore, the paper proposes recommendations and best practices that facilitate the alignment of AI with human values and the promotion of societal welfare. Mathematical models to solve optimization connection problems in non-simply connected regions under typical technological restrictions on geometric and topological parameters of routes are investigated and developed. The issue is investigated as the development of the construction of the structures of models and the methodology of their use that could enable the constructive and effective modelling and examination of various models and algorithms that preserve the geometricity and invariance of the models, which are necessary for their specific use in the conditions of the acceptability of the use of various output data structures. © 2023, Politechnica University of Bucharest.
