In an era where technological skills are essential, integrating coding curriculum within Macao's primary education is becoming increasingly prevalent. However, fostering programming skills among young learners is challenging, particularly when low motivation impedes learning. ***, a block-based programming website, has recently seen increasing use in universities, high schools, and primary schools. It incorporates gamification elements, allowing students to learn programming through a game-based challenge. This study employed a quasi-experimental approach to explore the impact of *** on enhancing students' motivation to learn coding. The participants comprised 20 grade three students who received three weeks of instruction, with six lessons each week, each lasting 40 minutes. The effectiveness of the *** intervention was assessed using the Instructional Materials Motivation Survey (IMMS), which measures the dimensions of the ARCS motivation model: Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction. The findings revealed a significant boost in learning motivation across all ARCS dimensions following the *** course. The study also demonstrated a strong correlation between these dimensions within the block-based coding curriculum provided by ***, suggesting the value of such platforms in motivating and improving programming education in primary schools. © 2024 IEEE.

PDF inaccessibility is an ongoing challenge that hinders individuals with visual impairments from reading and navigating PDFs using screen readers. This paper presents a step-by-step process for both novice and experienced users to create accessible PDF documents, including an approach for creating alternative text for mathematical formulas without expert knowledge. In a study involving nineteen participants, we evaluated our prototype PAVE 2.0 by comparing it against Adobe Acrobat Pro, the existing standard for remediating PDFs. Our study shows that experienced users improved their tagging scores from 42.0% to 80.1%, and novice users from 39.2% to 75.2% with PAVE 2.0. Overall, fifteen participants stated that they would prefer to use PAVE 2.0 in the future, and all participants would recommend it for novice users. Our work demonstrates PAVE 2.0's potential for increasing PDF accessibility for people with visual impairments and highlights remaining challenges. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Precision agriculture, driven by advancements in technology, aims to optimize farming practices by utilizing data and technology to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability This research introduces an innovative pilot investigation centered on the convergence of two revolutionary technologies are the Internet of Things (IoT) and Deep Learning. With a specific focus on advancing precision agriculture, the primary objective of this study is to evaluate the combined effects of data collection facilitated by IoT and analytical capabilities of deep learning in enhancing and optimizing various agricultural processes. Autism is a complex neuro - developmental condition characterized by challenges in social interaction and communication. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for effective support. This paper presents a novel approach for autism detection leveraging Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to analyze eye gaze patterns. The proposed method aims to provide an objective and efficient tool for the early screening of Autism. We begin by collecting eye gaze data from a diverse sample of individuals, including both Autism -diagnosed and non Autism individuals. The dataset is preprocessed to extract relevant features from the eye gaze sequences, capturing subtle but significant differences in gaze patterns between the two groups. A CNN architecture is designed and trained on this preprocessed dataset. The network is optimized to automatically learn discriminative features that distinguish between Autism and non Autism gaze patterns. Transfer learning techniques mobilenetv2 are employed to further enhance model performance. The trained CNN demonstrates promising results in accurately classifying individuals into Autism and neurotypical categories. Comprehensive evaluation metrics, including accuracy and loss, attest to the model's effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

This study demonstrates the application of second-generation quantum sensors in one-dimensional tracking. Due to their compact size, these magnetic field-sensitive sensors are particularly advantageous for medical and industrial settings where conventional sensors may be too large or vulnerable to electromagnetic interference. The proposed sensor setup achieves an average resolution of 1.22 mV/mm for tracking within a 100 mm range. The study also explores the nature and impact of various noise sources and discusses potential future techniques for mitigating these interferences. © 2024 IEEE.

Block interception attack, also known as block withholding attack, is an attack method in the blockchain. The attacker penetrates the target mining pool for passive mining to destroy the target mining pool. This paper briefly introduces the mining mechanism and the working principle of block interception attack, summarizes several models of block interception attack, studies the attack methods and benefits of the existing block interception attack models, and analyses their attack effects. A block interception attack model is constructed to increase the rate of return while increasing the rate of return. The completed model is verified through simulated mining experiments. The typical and made models are compared and analyzed based on the rate of return. Finally, the applicable environments of different attack models are given based on the experimental results. © 2024 The Author(s).

Privacy and security issues concerning mobile devices have substantial consequences for individuals, groups, governments, and businesses. The Android operating system bolsters smartphone data protection by imposing restrictions on app behavior. Nevertheless, attackers conduct systematic resource analyses and divert privacy-sensitive information from plain view. They employ evasive mechanisms to evade system monitoring and create an illusion of benign and non-sensitive communication. Furthermore, covert channels amplify the impact of these malicious activities by facilitating information transfer through non-standard methods. The purpose of this research is to shed light on these novel threats targeting Android systems. The study delves into security and privacy attacks that compromise sensitive user information. The methodology leverages evasion concepts and employs sound-specific covert channel communication, particularly ultrasonic channels. This research work introduces novel evasive attacks, namely Prime-Composite Evasive Information Invasion (PCEII) and File-lock-based Evasive Information Invasion (FEII), both relying on covert channel communication. These unique variants of attacks successfully evade user data within a few milliseconds for both noisy as well as non-noisy environments and do not show any signs of detection by antivirus mechanisms like Anti-Virus Guard (AVG), 360 security, etc. and state-of-the-art tools such as TaintDroid, MockDroid and others. The paper not only assesses their impact on the privacy and security of information but also introduces avenues for their detection and mitigation. © 2023 The Authors
