UAV-Enabled Image Capture and Wireless Delivery for On-Demand Surveillance Tasks

This work examines the task assignment, transmission scheduling, and trajectory design of image-surveillance UAVs dispatched to serve on-demand image capture and delivery services to ground users, e.g., from drivers seeking images of traffic jams or security units requesting images of private homes. In each task, the UAVs are required to capture the image of a specified surveillance region and deliver the image to the requesting user before the deadline. The task assignment, transmission scheduling, and trajectory design are jointly determined to maximize the total surveillance area of the completed tasks. We first examine the single-UAV problem and propose an alternating optimization approach that adopts the exact penalty method to promote near-binary solutions and employ successive convex approximation to deal with the nonconvex trajectory optimization. Then, we extend to the multiple-UAV scenario where cross-UAV tasks may require images to be captured and delivered by different UAVs. To enable distributed implementation, we introduce auxiliary deadlines to limit the time available for local tasks and, thus, decouple the joint optimization problem into multiple single-UAV problems that can be solved in parallel following the procedure derived in the previous case. Numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solutions. © 2024 IEEE.

Side lobe level reduction(SLL)of antenna arrays significantly enhances the signal-to-interference ratio and improves the quality of service(QOS)in recent and future wireless communication systems starting from 5G up to ***,it improves the array gain and directivity,increasing the detection range and angular resolution of radar *** study proposes two highly efficient SLL reduction *** techniques are based on the hybridization between either the single convolution or the double convolution algorithms and the genetic algorithm(GA)to develop the Conv/GA andDConv/GA,*** convolution process determines the element’s excitations while the GA optimizes the element *** M elements linear antenna array(LAA),the convolution of the excitation coefficients vector by itself provides a new vector of excitations of length N=(2M−1).This new vector is divided into three different sets of excitations including the odd excitations,even excitations,and middle excitations of lengths M,M−1,andM,*** the same element spacing as the original LAA is used,it is noticed that the odd and even excitations provide a much lower SLL than that of the LAA but with amuch wider half-power beamwidth(HPBW).While the middle excitations give the same HPBWas the original LAA with a relatively higher *** the increased HPBWof the odd and even excitations,the element spacing is optimized using the ***,the synthesized arrays have the same HPBW as the original LAA with a two-fold reduction in the ***,for extreme SLL reduction,the DConv/GA is *** this technique,the same procedure of the aforementioned Conv/GA technique is performed on the resultant even and odd excitation *** provides a relatively wider HPBWthan the original LAA with about quad-fold reduction in the SLL.

Cloud computing is the technology that is currently used to provide users with infrastructure,platform,and software services *** this system,Platform as a Service(PaaS)offers a medium headed for a web development platform that uniformly distributes the requests and *** using Denial of service(DoS)and Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks abruptly interrupt these *** though several existing methods like signature-based,statistical anomaly-based,and stateful protocol analysis are available,they are not sufficient enough to get rid of Denial of service(DoS)and Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks and hence there is a great need for a definite *** this issue,we propose an improved hybrid algorithm which is a combination of Multivariate correlation analysis,Spearman coefficient,and mitigation *** can easily differentiate common traffic and attack *** only that,it greatly helps the network to distribute the resources only for authenticated *** effects of comparing with the normalized information have shown an extra encouraging detection accuracy of 99%for the numerous DoS attack as well as DDoS attacks.

Image denoising is a crucial step in image acquisition and processing that helps improve the image quality by removing the unwanted noise. In this paper Gaussian and median filters are used as denoiser and performance is evaluated using some of the key metrics like Mean Squared Error (MSE), Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Feature Similarity Index Measure (FSIM), Structural Similarity Index Measure (SSIM), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Correlation Coefficient. A denoiser with low MSE, high PSNR, values of 1 for SSIM, FSIM, and Correlation Coefficient. Reported results are better in comparison to existing for better image quality. © 2025 IEEE.

Completion Time Minimization for UAV-Enabled Surveillance Over Multiple Restricted Regions

This work examines a UAV-enabled surveillance mission over multiple restricted regions and aims to determine the optimal UAV trajectory that minimizes the mission completion time. The UAV is prohibited from entering the restricted regions due to government regulations or adversarial concerns. However, during the surveillance of a region, the UAV can move along the region's boundary to reduce its distance to the next region once the local task is completed. To exploit this advantage, we propose a minimum completion time (MinTime) algorithm that first determines the visiting order of the regions by employing an approximate solution of the traveling salesman problem (TSP) and then optimizes the UAV trajectory over the sequence of restricted regions using dynamic programming. In the presence of obstacles, we further propose an obstacle-aware MinTime (OA-MinTime) algorithm that treats each obstacle as an additional restricted region with zero surveillance duration, allowing the UAV to avoid the obstacles in a more efficient manner. A modified TSP solution is also proposed by taking into consideration the additional distance required to circumvent the obstacles on each inter-POI path. Simulation results show that the proposed MinTime and OA-MinTime algorithms can significantly reduce the total completion time compared to conventional minimum-distance approaches. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

The integration of clusters,grids,clouds,edges and other computing platforms result in contemporary technology of jungle *** novel technique has the aptitude to tackle high performance computation systems and it manages the usage of all computing platforms at a *** learning is a collaborative machine learning approach without centralized training *** proposed system effectively detects the intrusion attack without human intervention and subsequently detects anomalous deviations in device communication behavior,potentially caused by malicious adversaries and it can emerge with new and unknown *** main objective is to learn overall behavior of an intruder while performing attacks to the assumed target ***,the updated system model is send to the centralized server in jungle computing,to detect their *** learning greatly helps the machine to study the type of attack from each device and this technique paves a way to complete dominion over all malicious *** our proposed work,we have implemented an intrusion detection system that has high accuracy,low False Positive Rate(FPR)scalable,and versatile for the jungle computing *** execution time taken to complete a round is less than two seconds,with an accuracy rate of 96%.

On-Demand Coordinated Spectrum and Resource Provisioning under an Open C-RAN Architecture for Dense Small Cell Networks

Mobile networks have seen more than a thousand times traffic increases in the past decade. Network operators face an ever increasing demand and cost to deploy denser networks in order to maintain the quality of services. In view of this paradigm shift, an open cloud radio access network (C-RAN) service model is studied in this work. Integrating the cross-layer functions of spectrum resource sharing, channel and power allocation, and interference management in a C-RAN architecture, we explore the feasibility of providing a scalable yet efficient broadband wireless service with dense small cell networks (DSN). The proposed methods and architecture can be applied to DSN that support the functions of (further enhanced) inter-cell interference cancelation (feICIC/ICIC) techniques of 3GPP standard, and have the potential to provide a cost-effective solution for high-quality DSN. Simulation results across an area of 100 km2 show that the proposed scheme can offer an aggregate downlink throughput of 21 Gbps over a maximum channel bandwidth of 20 MHz, which is 5 times the throughput with a typical ICIC method. Moreover, the service satisfaction degree can reach 85% under the proposed C-RAN architecture, making it a promising and cost-effective solution for future broadband wireless services. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

Watch You under Low-Resolution and Low-Illumination: Face Enhancement via Bi-Factor Degradation Decoupling

Face enhancement aims to improve low-quality face images to a higher-quality level. However, in real-world nighttime scenes, complex degradation factors often affect these images, making it challenging to preserve important facial details. Existing image enhancement algorithms typically focus on independently conducting image super-resolution and brightness enhancement, assuming a fixed degradation level based on simulated training datasets. Nonetheless, real nighttime scenes involve complex degradation processes, where degradation factors dynamically and variably manifest. Therefore, achieving effective face enhancement in such scenarios is particularly daunting. This work analyzes and unveils the multiple factors of low resolution and low illumination during degradation. Based on this analysis, we propose a Bi-factor Degradation Decoupling network. Our method leverages a decoupling network to generate qualitative and quantitative features corresponding to each factor's degradation degree in the low-quality environment. These features are then combined with robust facial feature constraints to recover the details of low-quality faces. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method surpasses state-of-the-art approaches in both enhancement and face super-resolution. © 1991-2012 IEEE.
