The rapid growth of internet population poses a serious challenge to the security of internet resources. The security is directly affected by the hits of Denial of Services (DoS) attack which is rampant nowadays. With this evolving threat, designing a cutting-edge method is difficult from a cyber-security perspective. In this study, we propose a deep learning-based system for detecting Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, which utilizes Logistic Regression, K- Nearest Neighbor, and Random Forest algorithms. We assess proposed models using a recently updated NSL KDD dataset. Our research's findings also demonstrate that proposed model is highly accurate in detecting Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Our results show that our proposed model significantly improves upon current state-of-the-art attack detection methods. © 2023 IEEE.

In this study, we examined the use of computational techniques for accurately processing acoustic signals of human speech using digital media. Specifically, we focused on the Sanskrit language and applied a language modeling approach to improve recognition by machines. Our implementation of this approach for Sanskrit speech represents a novel approach in the field and has the potential to extract valuable information through automated processing. The ability to accurately process speech is crucial for effective human communication, and our research contributes to the development of more efficient and effective methods for achieving this goal... © 2023 IEEE.

Offshore wind power transmission systems require high capacity, and LCC-based HVDC transmission systems are well-suited to meet this demand. Nevertheless, LCCs are dependent on the grid to supply commutation voltage, and in the event of voltage dips or distortions in the grid, commutation failures can readily occur. This results in significant oscillations between the AC and DC sides, thereby compromising the system’s safe and stable operation. This paper introduces a method to enhance the system’s resilience to commutation failures by integrating an MMC-based VSC-HVDC system in parallel with an LCC-HVDC inverter station. The MMC offers the advantage of decoupled control of active and reactive power, enabling it to stabilize the AC bus voltage. By maintaining the stability of the AC bus voltage, the resilience of the parallel system to commutation failures is augmented, thereby improving the overall stability of the combined transmission system. Subsequently, a parallel hybrid HVDC system model was developed in PSCAD/EMTDC to simulate AC grid faults, and a coordinated control strategy was formulated. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control method significantly enhances the system’s capability to withstand commutation failures. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2025.

LR3S: A lightweight semantic segmentation model for road scenes based on improved DeepLabV3+

In the field of autonomous driving, driving systems need to understand and quickly respond to changes in road scenes, which makes it equally important to enhance the accuracy and real-time performance of semantic segmentation tasks in road scenes. This article proposes a lightweight road scene semantic segmentation model LR3S that integrates global contextual information based on the DeepLabV3+ framework. LR3S utilizes a lightweight GhostNetV2 network as the backbone to capture rich semantic information in images, and uses ASPP_eSE module to enhance the capture of multi-scale and detail level semantic information. In addition, a lightweight CARAFE upsampling operator is utilized to upsample feature maps, taking advantage of CARAFE's large receptive field and low computational cost to prevent the loss of fine-grained features and ensure the integrity of semantic information. Experimental results demonstrate that LR3S achieves an MIoU of 74.47% on the Cityscapes dataset and obtains an MIoU of 76.01% on the PASCAL VOC 2012 dataset. Compared to baseline semantic segmentation models, LR3S significantly reduces the parameter amount while maintaining segmentation accuracy, achieving a good balance between model accuracy and real-time performance. © 2024 - IOS Press. With the development of vehicle autonomous driving technology and wireless network communication technology, the mix platoon of connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) and connected human-driven vehicles (CHVs) is becoming inevitable. The abnormal V2V communication and uncertain vehicle dynamics may affect the CAV control performance. Considering time-varying communication delays and random packet loss, an event-trigger-based robust control strategy is proposed based on the stability theory of stochastic time-delay systems. The Bernoulli packet loss model is constructed to solve the random packet loss problem. The robust controller with the event-triggered mechanism designed using the Lyapunov functional stability theory of stochastic systems ensures the stability of the mix platoon with vehicle heterogeneity and the stability of CAV. The simulation comparison has verified that the proposed control strategy can better suppress the fluctuation of the preceding vehicle and more quickly reach the desired value when both time delay and packet loss are present. © 2024 IEEE.

Rainfall plays a significant role in managing the water level in the *** unpredictable amount of rainfall due to the climate change can cause either overflow or dry in the *** individuals,especially those in the agricultural sector,rely on rain *** rainfall is challenging because of the changing nature of the *** area of Jimma in southwest Oromia,Ethiopia is the subject of this research,which aims to develop a rainfall forecasting *** estimate Jimma's daily rainfall,we propose a novel approach based on optimizing the parameters of long short-term memory(LSTM)using Al-Biruni earth radius(BER)optimization algorithm for boosting the fore-casting accuracy.N ash-Sutcliffe model eficiency(NSE),mean square error(MSE),root MSE(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R2 were all used in the conducted experiments to assess the proposed approach,with final scores of(0.61),(430.81),(19.12),and(11.09),***,we compared the proposed model to current machine-learning regression models;such as non-optimized LSTM,bidirectional LSTM(BiLSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and convolutional LSTM(ConvLSTM).It was found that the proposed approach achieved the lowest RMSE of(19.12).In addition,the experimental results show that the proposed model has R-with a value outperforming the other models,which confirms the superiority of the proposed *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance and stability of the proposed approach and the recorded results proved the expected perfomance.

The uncertainty of risk factors in infrastructure construction presents significant challenges to the management of construction progress. To effectively control construction progress while ensuring quality and reducing costs, we propose an adaptive scheduling method for infrastructure construction progress based on digital twin. First, we establish a digital twin model that reflects the construction progress by considering relevant progress information. Subsequently, taking into account the uncertainties associated with human factors, construction processes, and environmental factors, we develop a safety assessment method for power infrastructure and formulate a construction stoppage model. Then, we design an adaptive scheduling method that considers the uncertainties related to construction stoppage risks. Finally, the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed methods are validated through a comparative analysis of different cases. © 2024 IEEE.

Selecting the most relevant subset of features from a dataset is a vital step in data mining and machine *** feature in a dataset has 2n possible subsets,making it challenging to select the optimum collection of features using typical *** a result,a new metaheuristicsbased feature selection method based on the dipper-throated and grey-wolf optimization(DTO-GW)algorithms has been developed in this *** can result when the selection of features is subject to metaheuristics,which can lead to a wide range of ***,we adopted hybrid optimization in our method of optimizing,which allowed us to better balance exploration and harvesting chores more *** propose utilizing the binary DTO-GW search approach we previously devised for selecting the optimal subset of *** the proposed method,the number of features selected is minimized,while classification accuracy is *** test the proposed method’s performance against eleven other state-of-theart approaches,eight datasets from the UCI repository were used,such as binary grey wolf search(bGWO),binary hybrid grey wolf,and particle swarm optimization(bGWO-PSO),bPSO,binary stochastic fractal search(bSFS),binary whale optimization algorithm(bWOA),binary modified grey wolf optimization(bMGWO),binary multiverse optimization(bMVO),binary bowerbird optimization(bSBO),binary hysteresis optimization(bHy),and binary hysteresis optimization(bHWO).The suggested method is superior 4532 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 and successful in handling the problem of feature selection,according to the results of the experiments.
