Compressed sensing realizes the sub-sampling of the sparse signal but with high computational effort. For this, many hardware implementations based on Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm have been researched, avoiding the direct matrix inversion calculation by Cholesky or QR decomposition. However, the computational complexity is still high, and the reconstruction precision is poor, which is unfavorable for extension. In order to address this problem, a high performance hardware implementation was proposed in this paper which used Coordinate Rotation Digital computer (CORDIC) method constituting a systolic array to perform QR decomposition. This hardware architecture improves systolic array module and corresponding scheduling processing module by adding delay units, and can recover an 8-sparse signal of column dimension 256 in the order of columns, with the speed nearly 13 times faster than the software. Meanwhile, since the mean square error has a boltzmann relationship with the sparsity of the signals, the hardware performs well when the sparsity is below 8. Moreover, the curve fittings for software and hardware match well further proves the reconstruction ability of this hardware architecture. Finally, based on this hardware structure, a single photon imaging system was constructed, showing that, it can significantly speed up the imaging speed.

This paper presents distributed parameter dynamical modeling capabilities of single-mast stacker crane structures. In the frame structure of stacker cranes due to external excitation or inertial forces undesirable structural vibrations may arise. These vibrations reduce the stability and positioning accuracy of stacker crane and causes increasing cycle time of storage/ retrieval operation. Thus it is necessary to investigate of these vibrations. In this paper the dynamical behavior of single-mast stacker cranes is approximated by means of distributed parameter models. The first model is a cantilever beam model with uniform material and cross-sectional properties. This model is used to demonstrate fundamental properties of Euler-Bernoulli beam models. The second model is cantilever beam model with variable cross-sectional properties and lumped masses. The eigenfrequencies and mode shapes of this mast-model are determined by means transfer matrix method. In the third model the whole structure of single-mast stacker crane is modeled. Beside the eigenfrequencies and mode shapes of this model the Bodediagrams of frequency response function is also calculated.

It is well known that vertical take-off and landing(VTOL) aircraft system is a complex multi-variable nonlinear system with large disturbances. In order to control the VTOL aircraft system ef ciently, it is necessary to explore new optimal control methods to stabilize the system states. In this paper, we apply dual heuristic programming(DHP) to design the optimal controller for VTOL aircraft system. As a framework of approximate dynamic programming(ADP) algorithm, DHP consists of three modules: model, critic and actor. The critic module output partial derivatives of cost function with respect to state. It has many advantages such as good dynamics, fast convergence rate, and high control resolution. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of optimal controller for VTOL aircraft system based on the DHP algorithm.

The security of source has become an increasingly important issue in quantum cryptography. Based on the framework of measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDI-QKD), the source becomes the only region exploitable by a potential eavesdropper (Eve). Phase randomization is a cornerstone assumption in most discrete-variable (DV) quantum communication protocols (e.g., QKD, quantum coin tossing, weak-coherent-state blind quantum computing, and so on), and the violation of such an assumption is thus fatal to the security of those protocols. In this paper, we show a simple quantum hacking strategy, with commercial and homemade pulsed lasers, by Eve that allows her to actively tamper with the source and violate such an assumption, without leaving a trace afterwards. Furthermore, our attack may also be valid for continuous-variable (CV) QKD, which is another main class of QKD protocol, since, excepting the phase random assumption, other parameters (e.g., intensity) could also be changed, which directly determine the security of CV-QKD.

Integration of large scale wind power is both economical and environmentally-friendly. However, stochasticity and intermittency of wind power bring new challenges to frequency stability issue of the wind power system. The frequency regulation capacity limitation of the power system is one of the most important reasons limiting integration capacity of wind power. The power output of energy storage system (ESS) can be regulated very rapidly. Hence, it is feasible and effective for ESS to participate in system frequency regulation. This will increase overall system frequency regulation capacity and thus helps accommodating more wind power integrated into the power grid. A novel strategy for ESS to participate in frequency regulation is proposed in this paper. The control strategy includes two stages: in the first stage, ESS regulates its power output based on the wind power prediction information, in the second stage, frequency feedback is used to regulate the ESS power output to further reduce steady state frequency deviation. Since the ESS power output can be regulated before the frequency deviation happens, the dynamic response speed of frequency regulation of ESS can be significantly improved. Besides, frequency deviation can be decreased thanks to the step command in the first stage. Simulation of a wind power system is performed in Real Time Digital Simualtor (RTDS) and the results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
