This paper concerns a control problem for a 3-link planar robot moving in the vertical plane with only the rst joint being actuated by using the energy-based control approach. This robot is of underactuation degree two since the difference of the number of degrees of freedom and that of control input is two which is usually very dif cult to control. The control objective is to control simultaneously the total mechanical energy, the angular velocity and the angle of link 1 of the robot to their values corresponding to those at the upright equilibrium point, where all three links are in the upright position. The main contribution of this paper is to provide a global analysis of the convergence of the energy and the motion of the robot under the derived control law in a systematic way. By presenting a new property with its strict proof about the motion of the robot, without any condition on the mechanical parameters of the robot, we prove that the control objective is achieved for all initial states with the exception of a set of Lebesgue measure zero provided that two conditions on control gains are satis ed. Although there is no theoretical guarantee that there exists time such that the robot can be swung up close to the upright equilibrium point, the numerical simulation shows that this simultaneous control can be applied successfully to the swing-up and stabilizing control for a 3-link robot. This paper reveals the dif culty of the motion analysis of mechanical systems with underactuation degree greater than one.

Study on attenuation law of wireless sensor network signal transmission in a plantation based on BP neural network

Deployment of wireless sensor network nodes is the key problem in the application of the field of forestry and to determine the max effective communication range of network nodes is the key to solve the problem. However, forest environment is complex, the trunks, branches and leaves are playing a big role on signal scattering. What is more, Radio frequency, distance, height, gain and polarization mode of transmitting and receiving antenna are all having a certain effect on wave propagation. Therefore, a multivariate composite model, which takes tree species, height of transmitting antenna, height of receiving antenna and the distance between transmitting antenna and receiving antenna as the independent variables, is established based on the BP neural network in this paper. The experimental site has a typical temperate continental monsoon climate, so for the same climatic conditions of the plantation, the composite model can be used to estimate the wireless signal propagation loss in the plantation. Furthermore, it provides an important basis for determining the max effective communication distance and rational distribution of communication nodes. © 2013 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

The well-known bidimensionality theory provides a method for designing fast, subexponentialtime parameterized algorithms for a vast number of NP-hard problems on sparse graph classes such as planar graphs, bounded genus graphs, or, more generally, graphs with a fixed excluded minor. However, in order to apply the bidimensionality framework the considered problem needs to fulfill a special density property. Some well-known problems do not have this property, unfortunately, with probably the most prominent and important example being the Steiner Tree problem. Hence the question whether a subexponential-time parameterized algorithm for Steiner Tree on planar graphs exists has remained open. In this paper, we answer this question positively and develop an algorithm running in O(2O((k log k)2/3) n) time and polynomial space, where k is the size of the Steiner tree and n is the number of vertices of the graph. Our algorithm does not rely on tools from bidimensionality theory or graph minors theory, apart from Baker's classical approach. Instead, we introduce new tools and concepts to the study of the parameterized complexity of problems on sparse graphs.

Improving the use of energy resources has been a great challenge in the last years. A new complex scenario involving a decentralized bidirectional communication between energy suppliers, distribution system and consumption is nowadays becoming reality. Sometimes cited as the largest and most complex machine ever built, Electric Grids (EG) are been transformed into Smart Grids (SG). Hence, the load forecasting problem has become more difficulty and more autonomous load predictors are needed in this new conjecture. In this paper a novel method, so-called MSES, bio-inspired by Evolution Strategies (ES) combined with Multi-Start (MS) procedure is described. This procedure is mainly based on a self-adaptive algorithm to calibrate the parameters of the fuzzy rules. MSES was implemented in C++ via OptFrame framework. Our main goal is to evaluate the performance of this algorithm in a grid environment. Real data from an electric utility have been used in order to test the proposed methodology. The obtained results are fully described and analyzed.

Fiber bragg grating sensors, which are widely used in health monitor system as high-performance intelligent sensor, are an important tool for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) system. The cycling reactions of the system include three major steps: Denaturation, Annealing and extension and the program design in this paper is focus on the application program in order to achieve precise temperature control, friendly user interface and extremely low-power operation. However, the most commonly measuring method using FBG to get the date effectively is to obtain the wavelength shift information at maximum reflectivity, according to the linear relationship between the wavelength shift and the temperature applied to the axis of the FBG. The inputting signals of thermo-block of the system are constructed with intelligent sensors from a block with 96 narrow tube positions and data storage of the system which are transmitted from Fiber Bragg Gratings is realized in the system. The successful operation is dependent upon its reliable operation under high-precise temperature operating conditions besed on Fiber Bragg Gratings. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method is stable and efficient. © 2013 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

In this paper, we provided an algorithm to reconstruct images with Least Squares Support Vector Machines (LS-SVM) and Simulated Annealing Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO), named SAP. This algorithm introduces simulated annealing ideas into PSO, adopts cooling process functions to replace the inertia weight function and construct the time variant inertia weight function featured in annealing mechanism;takes use of the APSO algorithm to search for the optimized resolution of Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT) reconstruction image. In order to overcome the soft field characteristics of ECT sensitivity field, we exercised some image samples of typical flow pattern with LSSVM so as to predict the capacitance error caused by the soft field characteristics and then construct the fitness function of the particle swarm optimization on basis of the capacitance error. The simulation results show that SAP algorithm is featured in quick convergence rate and higher imaging precision. Compared with Landweber algorithm, the quality of reconstruction image with SAP is significantly improved. © 2013 ACM.

Multicast address allocation is a key and difficult points of HLA simulation system. Multicast address allocation need to select or improve according to the actual application needs. In the data distribution management based HLA simulation grid, for the contradiction of redundant data receives and multicast address demand, we put forward a multicast address allocation of HLA hierarchy structure and described the data forwarding algorithm. Within the site, multicast address allocation use the method based on the data receiver and forwarding server contains a filter allocation table based on the receiver's multicast *** there is a data access, RTIA according to assign tables to forward the data to the appropriate multicast addresses. Using this method, you can avoid node receives data not related *** simulation experiment and results analysis show that: the maximum level of nodes in the multicast reception of the message overhead can be significantly enhanced;using the hierarchical multicast routing aggregation, and based on the aggregation of routing information that is both feasible and effective. © 2013 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

The aim of this work is to present an entropy-like Lyapunov function based dynamic feedback design technique for quasi-polynomial and Lotka-Volterra systems. It is shown, that the dynamic feedback design problem is equivalent to the feasibility of a bilinear matrix inequality. The problem is also formulated as a control Lyapunov function based feedback design when the Lyapunov function parameters are given, the solution of this problem can be obtained by solving a linear matrix inequality. The developed method is illustrated on a simple numerical example. © IFAC.

Consider the nonlinear estimation fusion problem for dynamic stochastic process in sensor networks. Due to bandwidth or energy constraints, only quantized messages of the original information from local sensor are available. For a class of vector state-vector observation model, a quantized cubature particle filter (CPF) method is presented in this paper. Firstly, each sensor quantizes each component of the measurement verbatim and sends to fusion center (FC). Subsequently, FC compresses the quantized messages from local sensors in best linear unbiased estimation (BLUE) fusion rule. Finally, CPF is used to obtain a state estimation. computer simulations show effectiveness of the developed method.
