Resistive random access memory(RRAM)enables the functionality of operating massively parallel dot prod-ucts and ***-based accelerator is such an effective approach to bridging the gap between Internet of Things devices'constrained resources and deep neural networks'tremendous *** to the huge overhead of Analog to Digital(A/D)and digital accumulations,analog RRAM buffer is introduced to extend the processing in analog and in *** analog RRAM buffer offers potential solutions to A/D conversion issues,the energy consumption is still challenging in resource-constrained environments,especially with enormous intermediate data ***,criti-cal concerns over endurance must also be resolved before the RRAM buffer could be frequently used in reality for DNN in-ference *** we propose LayCO,a layer-centric co-optimizing scheme to address the energy and endurance con-cerns altogether while strictly providing an inference accuracy *** relies on two key ideas:1)co-optimizing with reduced supply voltage and reduced bit-width of accelerator architectures to increase the DNN's error tolerance and achieve the accelerator's energy efficiency,and 2)efficiently mapping and swapping individual DNN data to a correspond-ing RRAM partition in a way that meets the endurance *** evaluation with representative DNN models demonstrates that LayCO outperforms the baseline RRAM buffer based accelerator by 27x improvement in energy effi-ciency(over TIMELY-like configuration),308x in lifetime prolongation and 6x in area reduction(over RAQ)while main-taining the DNN accuracy loss less than 1％.

Beyond the text detection and recognition tasks in image text spotting, video text spotting presents an augmented challenge with the inclusion of tracking. While advanced end-to-end trainable methods have shown commendable performance, the pursuit of multi-task optimization may pose the risk of producing sub-optimal outcomes for individual tasks. In this paper, we identify a main bottleneck in the state-of-the-art video text spotter: the limited recognition capability. In response to this issue, we propose to efficiently turn an off-the-shelf query-based image text spotter into a specialist on video and present a simple baseline termed GoMatching, which focuses the training efforts on tracking while maintaining strong recognition performance. To adapt the image text spotter to video datasets, we add a rescoring head to rescore each detected instance's confidence via efficient tuning, leading to a better tracking candidate pool. Additionally, we design a long-short term matching module, termed LST-Matcher, to enhance the spotter's tracking capability by integrating both long- and short-term matching results via Transformer. Based on the above simple designs, GoMatching delivers new records on ICDAR15-video, DSText, BOVText, and our proposed novel test set with arbitrary-shaped text termed ArTVideo, which demonstrates GoMatching's capability to accommodate general, dense, small, arbitrary-shaped, Chinese and English text scenarios while saving considerable training budgets. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Finding oil spills in the ocean is one of the most crucial tasks in preserving our ecosystem. Using satellite or aerial photographs as input to a deep learning model that makes use of 2D CNN (Convolution Neural Network) and GAN (Generative Adversarial Network). Deep learning assists in automatically detecting oil spills in the ocean. A strong model that may be applied to volumetric data is 2D CNN. To protect the environment and its biodiversity, it is critical to identify and minimize oil spills in delicate maritime environments. Conventional techniques for tracking oil spills in satellite imagery sometimes depend on labor-intensive, human error-prone manual inspection. When deep learning models are taught with a lot of data, they perform well. The Gathering of datasets, however the situation proved to be challenging. As a result, employing Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) to produce new photos by utilizing preexisting ones. As a result, by giving the model a suitable number of photos to use for training and testing, it improves accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

In dusty and hazzy circumstances, pictures caputured tend to be unclear. To tackle this challenge researchers have founded different image-dehazing approaches. Lately, high quality pictures which could be used to extract maximal data from autonomous systems are in great demand. In order to minimize the haze from the picture, this research study uses various deep learning (also known as DL) architectures to identify the information recovered and extract key details from the image. The research paper focuses on utilizing deep learning techniques to remove haze from clear *** first phase of the suggested architecture involves applying multiple pre-processing methods, including estimating the airlight, implementing contextual regularization and boundary constraints, as well as contrast enhancement techniques (CS, CLAHE, HE) and Image Fusion. The subsequent goal of this study is to pinpoint the optimal deep learning model that can produce clear images based on the resulting dehazed images. The quality of the dehazed images is evaluated by comparing them with clear images using metrics such as PSNR and SSIM. Experimental findings shows that Alex Net upon the implementation of pre-processing beats other state of the art techniques with regard to PSNR value and holds its own w.r.t SSIM values. © 2023 IEEE.

Affective picture databases provide a standardized set of images to elicit controlled and consistent emotional responses in research participants. They are a valuable tool for studying various emotion-related phenomena across several research domains. These domains include emotion perception, emotion regulation, and the neural basis of emotion. However, affective picture databases have diverse schemas, structures, and content, making them difficult to use. Searching and retrieving optimal pictures relevant to affective stimulation may be challenging and time-consuming. In this context, we surveyed domain experts about their practices and experiences working with affective multimedia databases such as IAPS, NAPS, OASIS, GAPED, and others. The survey identified a need for novel data observatory software. This finding motivates the authors' intention to develop and validate such software platform that relies on AI. Such a platform would describe better, retrieve, and integrate various semi-structured affective multimedia datasets. The results prominently indicate the overwhelming dissatisfaction regarding stimuli content diversity and cultural bias, specifically regarding emotional and semantic context. The main driver of satisfaction from users of existing automated retrieval software is the quality of semantic descriptors available. This points to the direction AI should take in novel data observatory software. This survey follows up on a similar survey conducted ten years ago and explores the differences in researchers' opinions and experiences during that time. DFRC Waveform Design for Ground-Air System Under Inaccurate Target Angle

In ground-air networks, dual-function radar and communication (DFRC) enables a base station (BS) to sense and send communication signals to unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) simultaneously, which has enormous potential. The emphasis of this letter is on the design of DFRC waveform for ground-air system under inaccurate target angle. The desired covariance matrix is considered to have the best radar performance in the presence of inaccurate target angle and the waveform design objective is to make the corresponding covariance matrix approximated to it. The constraints conclude multi-user interference (MUI) energy for high quality of communication and constant modulus for avoiding signal distortion. To address the problem that minimizes the covariance matrix difference under the constraints, we propose a block coordinate descent (BCD) method. Moreover, to ensure the problem feasible, we design an initial value acquisition strategy using bisection-based alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM). Numerical results indicate that better communication and radar performance are achieved by the proposed method compared with existing methods. © 1994-2012 IEEE.

Nowadays, people spend a lot of time in travel, and road safety has become an important area of research. As a result, self-driving cars have been gaining popularity in recent years because they have a lot of benefits in terms of reducing traffic congestion and improving road safety, thereby reducing accidents. They also have an environmental benefit as they reduce travel times and hence reduce the usage of fuel. Though a lot of research has already been done in this field, there are always new problems being created and new solutions being found. Apart from self-driving cars, automated navigation also has a huge number of applications. Therefore, it is important to stay up to date about the latest developments in this field. This research is a comprehensive survey that explores and evaluates the different object-detecting algorithms that have been used throughout the years, their advantages, disadvantages, and trade-offs. It also analyses the datasets and benchmarks that have been used for evaluating the models. Learning in sinusoidal spaces with physics-informed neural networks

A physics-informed neural network (PINN) uses physics-Augmented loss functions, e.g., incorporating the residual term from governing partial differential equations (PDEs), to ensure its output is consistent with fundamental physics laws. However, it turns out to be difficult to train an accurate PINN model for many problems in practice. In this article, we present a novel perspective of the merits of learning in sinusoidal spaces with PINNs. By analyzing behavior at model initialization, we first show that a PINN of increasing expressiveness induces an initial bias around flat output functions. Notably, this initial solution can be very close to satisfying many physics PDEs, i.e., falling into a localminimum of the PINN loss that onlyminimizes PDE residuals, while still being far from the true solution that jointly minimizes PDE residuals and the initial and/or boundary conditions. It is difficult for gradient descent optimization to escape from such a local minimum trap, often causing the training to stall. We then prove that the sinusoidalmapping of inputs-in an architecture we label as sf-PINN-is effective to increase input gradient variability, thus avoiding being trapped in such deceptive local minimum. The level of variability can be effectively modulated to match high-frequency patterns in the problem at hand. A key facet of this article is the comprehensive empirical study that demonstrates the efficacy of learning in sinusoidal spaces with PINNs for a wide range of forward and inversemodeling problems spanning multiple physics domains.
