Deepfakes are artificial intelligence-generated multimedia, primarily videos or audio, that effectively edit or invent information by superimposing one person's likeness or voice onto that of another. They use deep learning techniques such as GAN s to generate hyper-realistic simulations that blur the line between reality and fiction. Deepfakes encompass everything from political satire to possible concerns in the fields of disinformation, privacy invasion, and cybersecurity. Understanding deepfakes is critical in an age when manipulated media may influence public opinion and undermine confidence. The primary objective of this paper is to provide a holistic overview of deepfake technology, shedding light on both its creative potential and inherent risks. Through a systematic exploration of the evolution, applications, techniques, and detection strategies, we aim to equip readers with an informed perspective on this ever-evolving field. By synthesizing existing knowledge and insights, this paper intends to contribute to the ongoing discourse surrounding deepfakes, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions, develop effective countermeasures, and anticipate the future trajectory of this technology. Ultimately, our work strives to foster awareness and preparedness in an age where discerning the truth has never been more vital. © 2023 IEEE.

The applicability of drug molecules in various clinical scenarios is significantly influenced by a diverse range of molecular properties. By leveraging self-supervised conditions such as atom attributes and interatomic bonds, existing advanced molecular foundation models can generate expressive representations of these molecules. However, such models often overlook the fixed association patterns within molecules that influence physiological or chemical properties. In this paper, we introduce a novel association pattern-aware message passing method, which can serve as an effective yet general plug- and-play plugin, thereby enhancing the atom representations generated by molecular foundation models without requiring additional pretraining. Additionally, molecular property-specific pattern libraries are constructed to collect the generated interpretable common patterns that bind to these properties. Extensive experiments conducted on 11 benchmark molecular property prediction tasks across 8 advanced molecular foundation models demonstrate significant superiority of the proposed method, with performance improvements of up to approximately 20%. Furthermore, a property-specific pattern library is tailored for blood-brain barrier penetration, which has undergone corresponding mechanistic validation. The development of industrial areas is frequently thought to have a good impact on society because it helps to meet the population's requirements. However, it also negatively impacts the environment, such as river pollution. If a country experiences rapid economic growth without considering the effects of industrial development on the environment, then human well-being will be affected. In this context, advanced development is attained by a developed nation while ensuring the well-being of society. Uncontrolled and unsustainable development increases environmental pollution, adversely affecting human health. As water is essential for human life, water resources, such as rivers, must be properly managed and protected to ensure human well-being. Thus, the study conducted on the changes in the water quality of the Kim Kim River provides insights into how unintended consequences of urban and industrial development can be identified and addressed using three sets of satellite imagery data from 2015, 2019 and 2020. The study was led to identify research problems and achieve the study objectives to obtain research results. The results of image classification analyses indicate that the development area near Sungai Kim Kim increased to 50%, with 38% from industrial areas. The RMSE for the image classification is 1.51, significantly better than the minimum allowed value of 2.00. It provides an understanding of the change in river water quality because of urban and industrial development. By highlighting the importance of sustainable development and the need to balance economic growth with environmental protection, this study contributes to the development of effective policies and strategies for the sustainable development of industrial areas. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper has demonstrated the high efficient net gain and low noise figure based vertical cavity semiconductor light amplifiers for wavelength division multiplexing applications. Previous study on the chip reflective gain variations versus SOA current under temperature effects is clarified. We have transferred light semiconductor amplifiers for wavelength multiplexing schemes applications. Amplifier output power is demonstrated with bias current and amplifier active layer region length variations based input signal power of 3, 6.5, 10 dBm, 1550 nm wavelength and optimum amplifier confinement factor of 0.45. The amplifier output noise variations are clarified against the bias current and amplifier active layer region width variations based input signal power of 3, 6.5, 10 dBm, 1550 nm wavelength and optimum amplifier confinement factor of 0.45. The output OSNR variations are studied clearly and deeply against the bias current and amplifier active layer region length variations based input signal power of 3, 6.5, 10 dBm, 1550 nm wavelength and optimum amplifier confinement factor of 0.45. The signal loss is demonstrated versus both active layer width/length and temperature based optimum 30 % gallium core dopant ratio and 28 % arsenide cladding dopant ratio at optimum input signal power of 10 dBm, 1550 nm wavelength and optimum amplifier confinement factor of 0.45. SOA amplifier output power can be enhance with the management of both bias current and input signal power and the reduction of active amplifier length. Recommender systems often suffer from popularity bias, where popular items are overly recommended while sacrificing unpopular items. Existing researches generally focus on ensuring the number of recommendations (exposure) of each item is equal or proportional, using inverse propensity weighting, causal intervention, or adversarial training. However, increasing the exposure of unpopular items may not bring more clicks or interactions, resulting in skewed benefits and failing in achieving real reasonable popularity debiasing. In this paper, we propose a new criterion for popularity debiasing, i.e., in an unbiased recommender system, both popular and unpopular items should receive Interactions Proportional to the number of users who Like it, namely IPL criterion. Under the guidance of the criterion, we then propose a debiasing framework with IPL regularization term which is theoretically shown to achieve a win-win situation of both popularity debiasing and recommendation performance. Experiments conducted on four public datasets demonstrate that when equipping two representative collaborative filtering models with our framework, the popularity bias is effectively alleviated while maintaining the recommendation performance. © 2023, CC BY.

Recognition of cursive handwritten text from photographs is a method for finding handwritten text. Identification is difficult because every author has a distinctive writing style. The proposed work uses cutting-edge technologies including RNN, KNN, MLP, and CRNN twith VGG16 to push the boundaries of character and handwriting recognition. Additionally, it compares neural networks to CNNwith VGG16 and finds that neural networks are more accurate. In the first stage, image acquisition, the scanned image is acquired along with its normalization, feature extraction, and segmentation. Additionally, it combines with the most effective feature extraction technique to improve the accuracy of our model. It also compares the accuracy with six uniquepretreat. approach, which are image segmentation image data generator data augmentation closed loop pre-processing, sigmoid Stretching and geometric *** provides the highest accuracy (98.36%) when using data augmentation. CNN has the highest accuracy (95.25%) when using picture segmentation. The third experiment's results for the image data generator show that CNN produced the best results (92.47%), while the highest model, RNN, gave closed loop processing accuracy of 92.20%. a change in geometry KNN has the highest accuracy at 95.39%.

In light of the challenges associated with enhancing multimodal knowledge graph retrieval and improving embodied intelligence in dynamic environments, we propose the Multimodal Knowledge Graph Vision-Language System (MKGVL). This system is designed to enhance the reasoning and feedback capabilities of embodied intelligent systems by continuously updating the knowledge graph through real-time feedback from the Vision-Language Model (VLM). By integrating visual encoders, language models, and knowledge graph networks, MKGVL constructs a unified multimodal representation that enables adaptive decision-making and responsiveness to environmental changes. Experimental results show that MKGVL outperforms existing models in fine-grained retrieval tasks, achieving an 11.5% improvement in Rank1 accuracy and a mean Average Precision (mAP) of 97.49%. Further evaluations conducted on datasets such as ARKitScenes, MultiScan, and 3RScan highlight the model's robustness and adaptability. Additionally, MKGVL's deployment on embedded platforms like Jetson Orin demonstrates its efficiency in real-time multimodal tasks, particularly in resource-constrained environments. These findings underscore MKGVL's ability to deliver accurate and efficient multimodal processing, making it a strong solution for adaptive knowledge-based systems in complex settings. © 2024 IEEE.

Artificial intelligence(AI) systems surpass certain human intelligence abilities in a statistical sense as a whole, but are not yet the true realization of these human intelligence abilities and behaviors. There are differences, and even contradictions, between the cognition and behavior of AI systems and humans. With the goal of achieving general AI, this study contains a review of the role of cognitive science in inspiring the development of the three mainstream academic branches of AI based on the three-layer framework proposed by David Marr, and the limitations of the current development of AI are explored and analyzed. The differences and inconsistencies between the cognition mechanisms of the human brain and the computation mechanisms of AI systems are analyzed. They are found to be the cause of the differences and contradictions between the cognition and behavior of AI systems and humans. Additionally, eight important research directions and their scientific issues that need to focus on braininspired AI research are proposed: highly imitated bionic information processing, a large-scale deep learning model that balances structure and function, multi-granularity joint problem solving bidirectionally driven by data and knowledge, AI models that simulate specific brain structures, a collaborative processing mechanism with the physical separation of perceptual processing and interpretive analysis, embodied intelligence that integrates the brain cognitive mechanism and AI computation mechanisms,intelligence simulation from individual intelligence to group intelligence(social intelligence), and AI-assisted brain cognitive intelligence.

Cryptocurrency, as a typical application scene of blockchain, has attracted broad interests from both industrial and academic communities. With its rapid development, the cryptocurrency transaction network embedding(CTNE) has become a hot topic. It embeds transaction nodes into low-dimensional feature space while effectively maintaining a network structure,thereby discovering desired patterns demonstrating involved users' normal and abnormal behaviors. Based on a wide investigation into the state-of-the-art CTNE, this survey has made the following efforts: 1) categorizing recent progress of CTNE methods, 2) summarizing the publicly available cryptocurrency transaction network datasets, 3) evaluating several widely-adopted methods to show their performance in several typical evaluation protocols, and 4) discussing the future trends of CTNE. By doing so, it strives to provide a systematic and comprehensive overview of existing CTNE methods from static to dynamic perspectives,thereby promoting further research into this emerging and important field.

Protein structure prediction is an interdisciplinary research topic that has attracted researchers from multiple fields,including biochemistry,medicine,physics,mathematics,and computer *** researchers adopt various research paradigms to attack the same structure prediction problem:biochemists and physicists attempt to reveal the principles governing protein folding;mathematicians,especially statisticians,usually start from assuming a probability distribution of protein structures given a target sequence and then find the most likely structure,while computer scientists formulate protein structure prediction as an optimization problem-finding the structural conformation with the lowest energy or minimizing the difference between predicted structure and native *** research paradigms fall into the two statistical modeling cultures proposed by Leo Breiman,namely,data modeling and algorithmic ***,we have also witnessed the great success of deep learning in protein structure *** this review,we present a survey of the efforts for protein structure *** compare the research paradigms adopted by researchers from different fields,with an emphasis on the shift of research paradigms in the era of deep *** short,the algorithmic modeling techniques,especially deep neural networks,have considerably improved the accuracy of protein structure prediction;however,theories interpreting the neural networks and knowledge on protein folding are still highly desired.
