In this paper, we investigate an accurate synchronization between a physical network and its digital network twin (DNT) that is a virtual representation of the physical network. The considered network includes a physical network where a base station (BS) serves a set of users, and a DNT that evolves with the status of both DNT and the physical network. The BS must use its limited spectrum resources to serve the users, as well as transmit the physical network information to the cloud server for DNT synchronization. Since the DNT can predict the physical network status, the BS may not need to transmit physical network information to the server at each time slot thus saving spectrum resources to serve users. However, if the BS does not transmit physical information to the DNT over a long period of time, the DNT may not be able to represent the physical network accurately. To this end, the BS must determine whether to send physical network information to the server to update DNT and the spectrum resources used for physical network information transmission and serving users. We formulate this resources allocation problem as an optimization problem aiming to maximize the sum of data rates of all users, while minimizing the gap between the states of the physical network and the DNT. The formulated problem is challenging to solve by conventional optimization methods, since the BS may not be able to know the future status of the DNT. To solve this problem, we design a gate recurrent unit (GRU) and soft action-critic (SAC) based algorithm. The GRU enables the DNT to predict its future states by using historical state data, and updating the DNT when the BS does not transmit physical network information. The SAC based algorithm enables the BS to learn the relationship between the physical network information transmission and the future status estimation accuracy of the DNT thus determining whether to transmit physical network information to the cloud server, ensuring an accurac

We propose a novel recurrent variational network, SegMorph, to perform concurrent segmentation and motion estimation on cardiac cine magnetic resonance image (CMR) sequences. Our model establishes a recurrent latent space that captures spatiotemporal features from cine-MRI sequences for multitask inference and synthesis. The proposed model follows a recurrent variational auto-encoder framework and adopts a learnt prior from the temporal inputs. We utilise a multi-branch decoder to handle bi-ventricular segmentation and motion estimation simultaneously. In addition to the spatiotemporal features from the latent space, motion estimation enriches the supervision of sequential segmentation tasks by providing pseudo-ground truth. On the other hand, the segmentation branch helps with motion estimation by predicting deformation vector fields (DVFs) based on anatomical information. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method performs better than state-of-the-art approaches qualitatively and quantitatively for both segmentation and motion estimation tasks. We achieved an 81% average Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) and a less than 3.5 mm average Hausdorff distance on segmentation. Meanwhile, we achieved a motion estimation Dice Similarity Coefficient of over 79%, with approximately 0.14% of pixels displaying a negative Jacobian determinant in the estimated DVFs. IEEE

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the world economy, and Malaysia is no exception. Due to the closure of businesses, the rate of unemployment has been recorded at an all-time high. The Malaysian Government through its agencies is assisting citizens through an online platform for incentives and an aid-giving platform. The current architecture of data sharing is using centralized, organization-oriented authentication and is not immutable for audit capability. In addition, the blockchain network is still a proof of concept in the digital government ecosystem. This paper studies the current aid data-sharing ecosystem and analyzes the potential of having a state government consortium blockchain framework that will be used in the Government Network Infrastructure for decentralized, transparent data sharing with audit capability. Several works involving Blockchain adoption based on domain, Blockchain consortium architecture and Government applications using blockchain are being presented. The need for a framework in implementing decentralized data sharing using consortium blockchain architecture for multi-agencies data sharing focusing on Malaysia Government Aid Management is discussed in this paper to provide the opportunity for the research domain. The findings in this paper will be used for future work on the requirement of a proposed government multi-layer consortium blockchain framework for data sharing in the Malaysian Government specifically for the Johore State Government ecosystem. © 2023 IEEE.

As the largest source of technical information around the world, patents are regarded as an essential crystallization and carrier of knowledge and technological innovation. Patent transformation is conducive not only to enhancing economic efficiency, but also to improving productivity and the rational utilization of resources. There is an imbalance between high patent ownership and low transformation rates. We try to predict the occurrence of transformation events from the patent assignment. However, there are some challenges in predicting patent transformation: (1) how to capture transformation features of patents, especially combined with the transfer time factor. (2) how to predict patent transfer time effectively. To address these challenges, a Patent Transfer Time Forecasting Model (PTTFM) is proposed. The model includes: (1) extraction of time-varying features of patents. (2) the patent transfer time is forecast using a Neural Temporal Point Process. By testing the model on patents under different classifications, the experimental results are obtained to show that the proposed model is applicable to predict the timing of patent assignment within a certain time frame, especially one month. Our work may facilitate patent transformation while interpretability is ensured for transformation events. © 2023 IEEE.

Mobile prices play a pivotal role in determining their popularity amongst consumers and their competitive standing within the market. As customers consider their budget while evaluating a mobile phone's specifications and design, estimating the price beforehand becomes essential to cater to their needs and expectations. Hence, accurately forecasting mobile phone prices is a vital step in the product launch process to remain competitive and assess the market dynamics and competitors. The primary aim of this research is to determine the true market value of mobile phones. In this research, the dataset was extracted by means of utilizing a web scraping process from the flipkart website. The main objective of this research is to fetch the most recent dataset based on the most recent features. The extracted dataset is fitted into regression models such as linear regression, decision tree regressor, random forest regressor, KNN regressor, and gradient boosting regressor and performs the comparative analysis. The models are evaluated based on the mean absolute error metric.

In contemporary urban environments, efficient traffic management stands as a paramount challenge, necessitating innovative solutions to mitigate congestion, enhance safety, and reduce environmental impact. This paper proposes a Smart Internet of Things (IoT)-assisted Traffic Light Controlling and Monitoring System designed to revolutionize traffic management through real-time data acquisition, analysis, and dynamic control mechanisms. The system integrates edge devices equipped with a variety of sensors, cloud-based infrastructure, and intelligent algorithms to optimize traffic flow at intersections. Leveraging technologies such as AWS IoT, Lambda, and QuickSight, alongside communication protocols like MQTT and HTTP, the system enables seamless device management, secure data transmission, and scalable real-time analytics. Hardware components including microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators facilitate precise data collection, allowing for accurate traffic monitoring and adaptive signal control. Through comprehensive traffic flow analysis, congestion reduction strategies, environmental impact assessments, safety enhancements, and system performance optimizations, the proposed system aims to revolutionize urban traffic management, leading to smoother traffic flow, reduced congestion, improved safety, and enhanced environmental sustainability. © 2024 IEEE.

In the realm of modern transportation systems, Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs) play a pivotal role in enabling efficient communication among vehicles and infrastructure elements for enhanced road safety and traffic management. However, the inherent vulnerabilities in VANETs, such as privacy breaches and security threats, necessitate robust frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure secure data transmission. This paper presents a comprehensive architecture for Privacy-Enriched data Communication over VANETs using Software-Defined Network (SDN) assistance. The proposed framework integrates key components including vehicles, Roadside Units (RSUs), and SDN controllers to facilitate secure and privacy-aware communication. Vehicles act as data sources, employing pseudonyms and encryption mechanisms to protect user privacy. RSUs serve as access points, collecting and relaying data while enforcing access control policies. SDN controllers provide centralized management, dynamically allocating resources and enforcing privacy policies through encryption, pseudonymization, and access control mechanisms. Communication protocols such as IEEE 802.11p and LTE enable vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication, while the OpenFlow protocol facilitates communication between SDN controllers and network devices. Additionally, trust management mechanisms evaluate the trustworthiness of network entities based on behavioral analysis, reliability metrics, and security considerations, ensuring the integrity and resilience of the network. By amalgamating SDN-based management with privacy enhancement mechanisms and trust management protocols, the proposed framework offers a robust solution for addressing privacy and security challenges in VANETs, thereby fostering safer and more secure transportation ecosystems. © 2024 IEEE.

Free-Rider and Conflict Aware Collaboration Formation for Cross-Silo Federated Learning

Federated learning (FL) is a machine learning paradigm that allows multiple FL participants (FL-PTs) to collaborate on training models without sharing private data. Due to data heterogeneity, negative transfer may occur in the FL training process. This necessitates FL-PT selection based on their data complementarity. In cross-silo FL, organizations that engage in business activities are key sources of FL-PTs. The resulting FL ecosystem has two features: (i) self-interest, and (ii) competition among FL-PTs. This requires the desirable FL-PT selection strategy to simultaneously mitigate the problems of free riders and conflicts of interest among competitors. To this end, we propose an optimal FL collaboration formation strategy -FedEgoists- which ensures that: (1) a FL-PT can benefit from FL if and only if it benefits the FL ecosystem, and (2) a FL-PT will not contribute to its competitors or their supporters. It provides an efficient clustering solution to group FL-PTs into coalitions, ensuring that within each coalition, FL-PTs share the same interest. We theoretically prove that the FL-PT coalitions formed are optimal since no coalitions can collaborate together to improve the utility of any of their members. Extensive experiments on widely adopted benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of FedEgoists compared to nine state-of-the-art baseline methods, and its ability to establish efficient collaborative networks in cross-silos FL with FL-PTs that engage in business activities. Many methods have been used to forecast stock market trends in the big data age, including real numbers, fuzzy time series data, fuzzy sets design, and conventional time series data. The control of semantic value data is made possible by the use of fuzzy time series data in stock market prediction, which makes accurate value predictions possible. These techniques are mostly used to forecast dynamic, non-linear datasets in a variety of industries, such as stock markets and cryptocurrencies. In order to predict stock prices, artificial intelligence (AI) methods such as neural networks (NN) have become increasingly important. Many methods have been developed to validate parametric and non-parametric theories for predicting trends and gains in the stock market using the feed-forward (FF) NN technique. A variety of soft computing techniques have been investigated in order to provide ways for decision-making based on profit and loss criteria without relying on artificial intelligence. This paper's main goal is to perform a comprehensive examination of the different prediction techniques used to estimate price and return in the stock market. The study includes a comparative review of several approaches as well as a variety of stock market forecasting strategies.
