In the workplace, risk prevention helps detect the risks and prevent accidents. To achieve this, workers' mental and physical parameters related to their health should be focused on and analyzed. It helps improve the workers' mental health and thus improves organizational performance. There are a lot of mental illnesses due to excess work and a lack of professional knowledge. It affects the performance of the worker. So, the organization needs to conduct competency training programs to improve their professional skills and the mindset to tackle the work pressure. There are several competency training programs given in various organizations to mold the workers, and it considerably reduces workplaces risks. Competency training in the workplace teaches integrity, honesty, managerial skills, and other workers. Developing organizational skills is the primary concern in this competency training. This paper enabled one of the best machine learning algorithms to be chosen to predict the hazards in the workplace and provide a healthy environment to the workers. For that, several classification methods such as Logistic Regression, Decision trees, AdaBoost classifier, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting classifier, and XGBoost classifier are implemented experimented with, and the performance is verified with python software. From the comparison, it has been found that the XGBoost classifier is selected as the best classifier and identified that it is highly suitable for analyzing and predicting workplace risks data. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Clever system that can look at pictures of fruits and figure out what kind of fruit each picture shows. AI algorithms like deep learning, which is like giving the Machine learning model a crash course in fruit recognition. This method teaches the ML Model we clearly explained the Model using application's agent using PEAS and the application's task environment using the 6 dimensions by showing it tons of fruit images, so over time, it gets really good at spotting the differences and similarities between, say, a banana and a grape. We also used another technique called pattern recognition, which helps the computer pay attention to specific details like the fruit's color, shape, size and texture. Overcoming multiple obstacles in order to automatically identify the type of fruit from the picture. The variety of images is influencing the color, texture, and shape of many different types of fruits. When it came to fruit picture detection, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) Algorithm outperformed standard support-vector-machine-based approaches using handcrafted features in terms of accuracy also, it is a lot faster to implement for new fruits. By integrating deep learning and pattern recognition techniques such as Convolutional Neural Network Algorithm we have got the accuracy of 84%, our system efficiently identified different fruit types from images, demonstrating the power and effectiveness of our methods. The goal of our project is to create a tool that can quickly and correctly identify many types of fruits in photos, which could be useful for things like sorting fruits in a grocery store or helping people learn about different fruits by using Convolutional Neural Network Algorithm. This is not just about teaching a computer to recognize fruits;it is about making technology that can understand and interact with the world in a way that is helpful to us. © 2025 IEEE.

DELTa: Dynamic Energy-and-Latency-aware Task scheduling for Fog-Cloud Paradigm

The rapid proliferation of IoT devices like smartphones, smartwatches, etc. has significantly elevated the quantity of data requiring execution. It poses challenges for centralized Cloud computing servers, such as latency overhead and increased consumption of energy. To address this, Fog computing has been incorporated in this research as a complementary paradigm to the Cloud-based computing model. It thereby reduces the huge distance between end-user IoT gadgets and the Cloud computing servers. In order to improve the latency and waiting time this research employs a Multi-Level Queue (MLQ) for classifying tasks based on their priority. For parallel processing, a Self-adaptive Fuzzy C-means++ (SaFCm++) approach has been applied to cluster the Fog computing nodes depending on the heterogeneity of the computational nodes. For efficient scheduling, a Dynamic Energy-and-Latency-aware Task scheduling (DELTa) approach has been proposed to optimize latency, makespan, and utilization of resources. Extensive simulations are carried out for different test cases considering task and machine heterogeneity, followed by a statistical analysis. The overall improvements of the proposed method over other baselines are 9.75% for makespan, 64.59% for service latency, 13.90% for resource utilization, and 12.75% for energy consumption. The proposed energy-efficient scheduling method effectively manages diverse tasks and resources, enhancing task processing efficiency while minimizing energy consumption and maximizing resource utilization. Furthermore, the value of the Friedman statistics FF for the proposed model is estimated at 5.44, which shows superiority over the crucial value for four methodologies and four evaluation matrices. © 2013 IEEE.

Perturbed Decision-Focused Learning for Modeling Strategic Energy Storage

This paper presents a novel decision-focused framework integrating the physical energy storage model into machine learning pipelines. Motivated by the model predictive control for energy storage, our end-to-end method incorporates the prior knowledge of the storage model and infers the hidden reward that incentivizes energy storage decisions. This is achieved through a dual-layer framework, combining a prediction layer with an optimization layer. We introduce the perturbation idea into the designed decision-focused loss function to ensure the differentiability over linear storage models, supported by a theoretical analysis of the perturbed loss function. We also develop a hybrid loss function for effective model training. We provide two challenging applications for our proposed framework: energy storage arbitrage, and energy storage behavior prediction. The numerical experiments on real price data demonstrate that our arbitrage approach achieves the highest profit against existing methods. The numerical experiments on synthetic and real-world energy storage data show that our approach achieves the best behavior prediction performance against existing benchmark methods, which shows the effectiveness of our method. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Researchers have recently created several deep learning strategies for various tasks, and facial recognition has made remarkable progress in employing these techniques. Face recognition is a noncontact, nonobligatory, acceptable, and harmonious biometric recognition method with a promising national and social security future. The purpose of this paper is to improve the existing face recognition algorithm, investigate extensive data-driven face recognition methods, and propose a unique automated face recognition methodology based on generative adversarial networks (GANs) and the center symmetric multivariable local binary pattern (CS-MLBP). To begin, this paper employs the center symmetric multivariant local binary pattern (CS-MLBP) algorithm to extract the texture features of the face, addressing the issue that C2DPCA (column-based two-dimensional principle component analysis) does an excellent job of removing the global characteristics of the face but struggles to process the local features of the face under large samples. The extracted texture features are combined with the international features retrieved using C2DPCA to generate a multifeatured face. The proposed method, GAN-CS-MLBP, syndicates the power of GAN with the robustness of CS-MLBP, resulting in an accurate and efficient face recognition system. Deep learning algorithms, mainly neural networks, automatically extract discriminative properties from facial images. The learned features capture low-level information and high-level meanings, permitting the model to distinguish among dissimilar persons more successfully. To assess the proposed technique’s GAN-CS-MLBP performance, extensive experiments are performed on benchmark face recognition datasets such as LFW, YTF, and CASIA-WebFace. Giving to the findings, our method exceeds state-of-the-art facial recognition systems in terms of recognition accuracy and resilience. This study presents an overview on intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)-enabled sensing and communication for the forthcoming sixth-generation(6G) wireless networks, in which IRSs are strategically deployed to proactively reconfigure wireless environments to improve both sensing and communication(S&C) performance. First, we exploit a single IRS to enable wireless sensing in the base station's(BS's) non-line-of-sight(NLoS) area. In particular, we present three IRS-enabled NLoS target sensing architectures with fully-passive, semi-passive, and active IRSs, respectively. We compare their pros and cons by analyzing the fundamental sensing performance limits for target detection and parameter estimation. Next, we consider a single IRS to facilitate integrated sensing and communication(ISAC), in which the transmit signals at the BS are used for achieving both S&C functionalities, aided by the IRS through reflective beamforming. We present joint transmit signal and receiver processing designs for realizing efficient ISAC, and jointly optimize the transmit beamforming at the BS and reflective beamforming at the IRS to balance the fundamental performance tradeoff between S&C. Furthermore, we discuss multi-IRS networked ISAC, by particularly focusing on multi-IRS-enabled multi-link ISAC, multi-region ISAC, and ISAC signal routing, respectively. Finally, we highlight various promising research topics in this area to motivate future work.

Software Defect Prediction (SDP) is critical in identifying fault-prone modules during the software development life cycle, enhancing software quality, and reducing maintenance costs. However, existing SDP models face significant challenges, including high false positive rates and severe class imbalance between defect-prone and non-defect modules, which hinder practical model training and accurate defect detection. To overcome these challenges, this study proposes a robust and efficient SDP architecture that integrates several advanced techniques to enhance predictive accuracy and model reliability. The methodology begins with comprehensive data preprocessing, incorporating normalization to standardize feature scales and outlier detection to eliminate noise and improve data quality. To address the inherent class imbalance in the dataset, the minority oversampling by synthetic data (MOSD) technique is employed to generate synthetic samples for the minority class, thus achieving a more balanced distribution. Following this, an Adaptive sequential K-best (ASKB) feature selection strategy is implemented to identify and retain the most relevant features, effectively reducing dimensionality while preserving critical information. Finally, the weighted random forest (WRF) classifier is utilized, which assigns appropriate weights to training instances, enabling improved classification performance, especially for minority class instances. The proposed methodology achieved an accuracy of 99.119%, a precision of 99.431%, a recall of 99.122%, and an F1-score of 99.333%. © The Author(s) 2025.

Securing data transmission in a digital era is a difficult one due to the broad application of the Internet, personal computers, and mobile phones for communication. Traditional video steganography techniques sometimes fail to identify the best pixels for encoding hidden data, resulting in lowerquality and robustness. To solve this issue, this article proposes an innovative steganography technique that improves the security and quality of data hiding. The proposed method takes cover video and secret images as input. The Structural Similarity Index Measurement (SSIM) first collects key frames from the input video. The adaptive sailfish optimizer (ASFO) is then used to find the best regions within these keyframes to insert the secret data in. To improve security, the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is applied to the specified region, and the LL band is used for the hiding process. The secret image is encrypted by Adaptive elliptical curve cryptography (AECC) and transformed to binary bits, which then get embedded in the chosen band. This method leads to the construction of a stego-video. The extraction procedure is repeated using the same approach, which ensures secure and robust data transmission. Performance metrics, including PSNR, BER, NAE, TAF, and NC are analyzed to compare each method's efficacy. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's institute of Computer Applications and Management 2025.
