The Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly permeating all aspects of human life, involving a network of devices that share sensitive data. A notable application is the e-healthcare systems, which employ connected sensors, medical servers, and wearable devices. However, the public nature of communication in e-healthcare systems poses challenges such as security, privacy, and authentication of participating entities. Recently, many authentication protocols have been introduced to address these challenges. However, most of these protocols remain vulnerable to various security attacks, including device or medical server impersonation, denial of service, physical or cloning, and de-synchronization attacks. Therefore, we introduce an authenticated key-management protocol utilizing hash functions and Cipher-Block Chaining-Advanced Encryption Standard encryption (CBC-AES) encryption. The proposed protocol also employs the Physical Unclonable Function (PUF), which makes it more robust and efficient in resisting physical or cloning attacks. Additionally, the proposed scheme resists various security threats, including impersonation, session key leakage, ephemeral secret leakage, and de-synchronization attacks. We analyze the scheme’s security and reliability through formal and informal analysis. The informal analysis demonstrates that the scheme encompasses crucial security features, while the formal analysis substantiates. Moreover, performance analysis of the proposed protocol with various competing results indicates that our protocol achieves an average reduction in communication and computation overheads by 36.03.% and 41.79%, respectively. © 2014 IEEE.

The threatening Coronavirus which was assigned as the global pandemic concussed not only the public health but society, economy and every walks of life. Some measurements are taken to stifle the spread and one of the best ways is to carry out some precautions to prevent the contagion of SARS-CoV-2 virus to uninfected populaces. Injecting prevention vaccines is one of the precaution steps under the grandiose blueprint. Among all vaccines, it is found that mRNA vaccine which shows no side effect with marvellous effectiveness is the most preferable candidates to be considered. However, degradation had become its biggest drawback to be implemented. Hereby, this study is held with desideratum to develop prediction models specifically to predict the degradation rate of mRNA vaccine for COVID-19. Two machine learning algorithms, which are, Linear Regression (LR) and Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LGBM) are proposed for models development using Python language. dataset comprises of thousands of RNA molecules that holds degradation rates at each position from Eterna platform is extracted, pre-processed and encoded with label encoding before loaded into algorithms. The results show that LGBM (0.2447) performs better than LR (0.3957) for this study when evaluated with the RMSE metric. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Multi-modal Image and Radio Frequency Fusion for Optimizing Vehicle Positioning

In this paper, a multi-modal vehicle positioning framework that jointly localizes vehicles with channel state information (CSI) and images is designed. In particular, we consider an outdoor scenario where each vehicle can communicate with only one BS, and hence, it can upload its estimated CSI to only its associated BS. Each BS is equipped with a set of cameras, such that it can collect a small number of labeled CSI, a large number of unlabeled CSI, and the images taken by cameras. To exploit the unlabeled CSI data and position labels obtained from images, we design an meta-learning based hard expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm. Specifically, since we do not know the corresponding relationship between unlabeled CSI and the multiple vehicle locations in images, we formulate the calculation of the training objective as a minimum matching problem. To reduce the impact of label noises caused by incorrect matching between unlabeled CSI and vehicle locations obtained from images and achieve better convergence, we introduce a weighted loss function on the unlabeled datasets, and study the use of a meta-learning algorithm for computing the weighted loss. Subsequently, the model parameters are updated according to the weighted loss function of unlabeled CSI samples and their matched position labels obtained from images. Simulation results show that the proposed method can reduce the positioning error by up to 61% compared to a baseline that does not use images and uses only CSI fingerprint for vehicle positioning. A large number of people and assets are destroyed each year as a result of severe weather, such as cyclones, lightning, storm, or rain. Scientists are developing machine learning approaches that can help forecasters better anticipate these catastrophes by better understanding the underlying mechanisms and generating more accurate empirical models. Temporal structural probability networks have been significantly improved in this research, allowing for autonomous discovery of spatiotemporal correlations and the capacity to learn with any form. Prediction of thunderstorms in Texas and aero plane instability in the United States are the focus of the evaluations of suggested method. As part of the work discussion on how to assess the effectiveness of a machine learning algorithm in the context of severe weather, the system give a collection of instructions cultured for given machine learning techniques and talk about how to implement the proposed strategy.

A Bi-selection Method Based on Consistent Matrix for Large-Scale datasets

Biselection (feature and sample selection) enhances the efficiency and accuracy of machine learning models when handling large-scale data. Fuzzy rough sets, an uncertainty mathematics model known for its excellent interpretability, are widely used in machine learning, particularly for feature selection. While the consistent matrix has significantly improved the computational efficiency and scalability of feature selection, like most fuzzy rough set-based methods, it focuses only on feature selection and seldom incorporates sample selection. This feature-centric approach can limit classification performance, particularly in noisy and large-scale datasets where both features and samples require judicious selection. To overcome these limitations, this article explores the integration of sample selection with feature selection. First, we introduce a β-consistent granulation method to generate more accurate and concise fuzzy information granules, reducing the impact of noisy samples. In addition, a novel membership function is employed to distinguish noise while simultaneously evaluating both features and samples. As a result, a biselection algorithm with linear computation complexity is proposed to select high-quality features and samples. Numerical experiments demonstrate that, compared to eleven representative algorithms, our proposed method achieves an average accuracy improvement of 9.66% and a 933-fold increase in efficiency. © 2025 IEEE.

As the mobile ad hoc networks infrastructure has no centralized points of connections, the traffic from a source to a destination passes through number of intermediate nodes. When more than one neighbor node is available, the traffic passes through one of them based on some criteria. If a node behaves maliciously in all of the connections and drops the traffic, it creates a security blackhole, while a malicious node that behaves normally is some of the connections creates a security grayhole. Since the malicious node behaves normally in some connections, mitigating this attack is challenging. In this paper, we proposed 3L-AODV, a security protocol that uses three layers of protection and detection to mitigate the grayhole attack. As it does not require any modification on the AODV protocol, it can be implemented on any network that its routing is based on AODV. The analysis of our results shows that 3L-AODV could mitigate the grayhole attack without affecting the performance of the network. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Patch Correctness Checking is the task of detecting automated-program-repair-generated patches that can pass the test suite but are still buggy. In this study, we investigated a new feature to improve the classification performance for automated patch correctness checking. Our approach involved leveraging code-change information at a finer granular level by embedding the code edits and combining them with existing code-change vectors. Through extensive experiments, the results revealed gains up to 3.4% and 3.2% on the Fl-score and AUC.

The emerging vehicular metaverse embodies the next-generation vehicular networking paradigm. In the vehicular metaverses, Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) technology as a powerful content generation tool, is capable of providing an immersive experience for Vehicular Metaverse Users (VMUs). Due to limited computational resources within vehicles, VMUs rely on AIGC Service Providers (ASPs) to execute resource-intensive AIGC tasks within vehicular metaverses. However, large-scale AIGC service requests can lead to resource scarcity within the ASP, ultimately leading to declining service quality for VMUs. To tackle this challenge, we introduce a novel Stackelberg game framework utilizing the Generative Diffusion Model (GDM) for AIGC services, in which we experimentally reveal a relationship between image quality and diffusion steps. A Transformer-based Deep Reinforcement Learning (TDRL) algorithm is employed to find the optimal Stackelberg equilibrium under incomplete information. Numerical results indicate that our method converges to equilibrium efficiently, with superior utilities compared to baseline approaches. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Existing face forgery detection usually follows the paradigm of training models in a single domain, which leads to limited generalization capacity when unseen scenarios and unknown attacks occur. In this paper, we elaborately investigate the generalization capacity of deepfake detection models when jointly trained on multiple face forgery detection datasets. We first find a rapid degradation of detection accuracy when models are directly trained on combined datasets due to the discrepancy across collection scenarios and generation methods. To address the above issue, a Generalized Multi-Scenario Deepfake Detection framework (GM-DF) is proposed to serve multiple real-world scenarios by a unified model. First, we propose a hybrid expert modeling approach for domain-specific real/forgery feature extraction. Besides, as for the commonality representation, we use CLIP to extract the common features for better aligning visual and textual features across domains. Meanwhile, we introduce a masked image reconstruction mechanism to force models to capture rich forged details. Finally, we supervise the models via a domain-aware meta-learning strategy to further enhance their generalization capacities. Specifically, we design a novel domain alignment loss to strongly align the distributions of the meta-test domains and meta-train domains. Thus, the updated models are able to represent both specific and common real/forgery features across multiple datasets. In consideration of the lack of study of multi-dataset training, we establish a new benchmark leveraging multi-source data to fairly evaluate the models' generalization capacity on unseen scenarios. Both qualitative and quantitative experiments on five datasets conducted on traditional protocols as well as the proposed benchmark demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.
