Context-Dependent Propagating-Based Video Recommendation in Multimodal Heterogeneous Information Networks

With the emergence of online social networks (OSNs), video recommendation has come to play a crucial role in mitigating the semantic gap between users and videos. Conventional approaches to video recommendation primarily focus on exploiting content features or simple user-video interactions to model the users’ preferences. Although these methods have achieved promising results, they fail to model the complex video context interdependency, which is obscure/hidden in heterogeneous auxiliary data from OSNs. In this paper, we study the problem of video recommendation in Heterogeneous Information Networks (HINs) due to its excellence in characterizing heterogeneous and complex context information. We propose a Context-Dependent Propagating Recommendation network (CDPRec) to obtain accurate video embedding and capture global context cues among videos in HINs. The CDPRec can iteratively propagate the contexts of a video along links in a graph-structured HIN and explore multiple types of dependencies among the surrounding video nodes. Then, each video is represented as the composition of the multimodal content feature and global dependency structure information using an attention network. The learned video embedding with sequential based recommendation are jointly optimized for the final rating prediction. Experimental results on real-world YouTube video recommendation scenarios demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods compared with strong baselines.

A new interconnection network for multi-core processor, named the triplet-based hierarchical interconnection network (THIN), is presented. The topology of the network is very-simple and it has obvious hierarchical, symmetric and scalable characteristics. The compare results show THIN is superior to 2-D mesh to construct interconnection network when there are not too many nodes. Results of simulation showed that THIN is a promising choice for multi-core processor with low network latency and high throughput.

In order to further improve the velocity and the utilization of information contained in samples,an improved version of the Factor Analysis Algorithm(FAA) in factor spaces is presented in this *** primary algorithm is considered from the whole classes during the selection of the next classified factor,by which a smaller decision domain is generated than that generated by considering from each class,and the deletion of the decision domain is critical in decreasing calculation and increasing the velocity of the ***,based on inheriting the merits of the initial algorithm,the pushing way by each column is changed into that by each class during the selection of the next classified *** change not only decreases the calculation,but also improves the utilization of the sample *** testing results also indicate that the improvement is significant and the testing accuracy rate and velocity are both better than the primary algorithm.

Lottery is a game with many people's dreams. But corruptions of lottery centers make the lottery unfair. To address this unfair issue, fair lottery schemes have been studied for several years. In these schemes, delay functions or aggregation protocols can be used to generate the winning numbers fairly. However, to the best of our knowledge, none of the existing schemes can achieve the winning number generated randomly, while the randomness can be verified fairly. In this article, we first propose a [B]lockchain based sm[a]rt co[n]tract for [F]air and [E]fficient [L]ottery (BanFEL) scheme. We further present a winning number random generation smart contract, by which players submit the purchased numbers and the non-tampering property is protected. Security analysis and experiments show that the fairness of BanFEL is protected better than the existing works. Meanwhile, the verification cost of this scheme are at least 0.03s lower than the traditional Grumbach's scheme between 1000 and 10000 players.

In the last years, research on Web mining has reached maturity and has broadened in scope. Two different but interrelated research threads have emerged, based on the dual nature of the Web: – The Web is a practically in?nite collection of documents: The acquisition and - ploitation of information from these documents asks for intelligent techniques for information categorization, extraction and search, as well as for adaptivity to the interests and background of the organization or person that looks for information. – The Web is a venue for doing business electronically: It is a venue for interaction, information acquisition and service exploitation used by public authorities, n- governmental organizations, communities of interest and private persons. When observed as a venue for the achievement of business goals, a Web presence should be aligned to the objectives of its owner and the requirements of its users. Counterfactual estimation from observations represents a critical endeavor in numerous application fields, such as healthcare and finance, with the primary challenge being the mitigation of treatment bias. The balancing strategy aimed at reducing covariate disparities between different treatment groups serves as a universal solution. However, when it comes to the time series data, the effectiveness of balancing strategies remains an open question, with a thorough analysis of the robustness and applicability of balancing strategies still lacking. This paper revisits counterfactual estimation in the temporal setting and provides a brief overview of recent advancements in balancing strategies. More importantly, we conduct a critical empirical examination for the effectiveness of the balancing strategies within the realm of temporal counterfactual estimation in various settings on multiple datasets. Our findings could be of significant interest to researchers and practitioners and call for a reexamination of the balancing strategy in time series settings. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

Digital transformation in manufacturing has become a trend with the continuous development of cloud computing and edge computing. The production process of firearms components is highly challenging and quality problems in the production process may directly affect the safety of people's lives and property. Thus, this paper proposes a production-quality early warning method for firearms components based on cloud-edge collaboration. Real-time early warning and rapid processing for abnormal conditions in the production process are realized based on cloud data analysis and edge intelligent prediction, thereby improving production efficiency and quality. The cloud edge collaboration framework is developed for cloud training of the long short-term memory models and real-time sample edge acquisition, enhancing the adaptability of quality early warning algorithms under specific conditions and the real-time quality of early warning for firearms components.

Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (KAN) is an emerging neural network architecture in machine learning. It has greatly interested the research community about whether KAN can be a promising alternative of the commonly used Multi-Layer Perceptions (MLP). Experiments in various fields demonstrated that KAN-based machine learning can achieve comparable if not better performance than MLP-based methods, but with much smaller parameter scales and are more explainable. In this paper, we explore the incorporation of KAN into the actor and critic networks for offline reinforcement learning (RL). We evaluated the performance, parameter scales, and training efficiency of various KAN and MLP based conservative Q-learning (CQL) on the the classical D4RL benchmark for offline RL. Our study demonstrates that KAN can achieve performance close to the commonly used MLP with significantly fewer parameters. This provides us an option to choose the base networks according to the requirements of the offline RL tasks. © 2024, CC BY.

When natural or man-made disasters occur at sea, a maritime unmanned rescue system-of-systems (MURSoSs), as an important guarantee for the safety of people's lives and property, has a rapid response to emergency rescue services. In the design process of MURSoSs, it is often faced with problems such as unexplainable mechanisms and inaccurate modeling due to the characteristics of multi-level coupling and irregular emergence. A design method of MURSoSs based on an attention Transformer is proposed. First, this paper decomposes the MURSoSs into a multi-level organizational structure composed of individual performance, group structure, and overall effectiveness. Second, the maritime unmanned rescue simulation environment is constructed, to obtain the multi-level evolution data of group structure and overall effectiveness under different individual performance, and the attention Transformer is used to mine the functional correlation relationship between levels. Finally, the experimental simulation prediction is carried out by using this function relationship. Taking the design of MURSoSs as an example, the results show that the constructed model accurately quantifies the correlation relationship between levels and effectively reveal the internal logic of the emergence process of maritime rescue.
