In recent years, the role of computational methods such as machine learning and deep learning has evolved to help better understand an individual’s response to drugs. Through advancements in the discipline of precision medicine, cancer therapies are made based on an individual's pharmacogenomics data. In this way, doctors can make informed decisions about patient outcomes and reduce treatment costs. Beyond these advancements, there is enough void to precisely predict drug response. A drug’s response to therapy is dependent on a number of factors such as the drug’s physicochemical properties, pharmacokinetics, metabolism, protein, mutation, somatic variation, environment, and much more. Studying the correlation of more of these factors and their association with the drug is one of the promising ways to bridge the gap in improving results. Extra tree regression is an ensemble-based algorithm and is less prone to overfitting than other ensemble learning algorithms particularly when low bias and reduced overfitting are desired, and computational efficiency is important. In this paper, we have applied the drug’s physicochemical properties to predict the Inhibition values using an enhanced extra tree regression (EETR) algorithm. The EETR algorithm prediction outperformed both the random forest and original ETR algorithm in terms of both MSE and R2 score. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Gridlet allocation in a computational grid environment is a major research issue to obtain not only the efficient gridlet allocation technique but also the time needed to obtain the efficient allocation technique. Grid computing networks have various nodes to process user jobs. To achieve the high performance of computational grid, task scheduling is an important issue. The users who are using services of grid systems are more cautious about time to complete their job. Hence, this work concentrates on gridlet allocation method used for time reduction by a genetic algorithm with the MapReduce programming model for independent tasks in computational grid. In computational grid environment, multi-objective problem formulation minimization of makespan and flowtime is considered. In this proposed technique, fitness function formulation for makespan and flowtime has been formulated mathematically. The genetic algorithm with the MapReduce programming model is implemented using MapReduce written in Java and then combined with GridSim. The experimental outcome with regard to time needed, flowtime, and makespan clearly reveals that the genetic algorithm with the MapReduce model effectively optimizes time, makespan, and flowtime in computational grid environment. A comparative study of performance efficiency among genetic algorithm with the MapReduce and sequential genetic algorithm (SGA) and parallel genetic algorithm (PGA) depicts the usefulness of the model. The execution time achieved by GA with the MapReduce model in small grid is 10.48 s, medium grid is 18.76 s, and large grid is 33.73 s. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature.

In this fast-paced Digital Age, Natural Language Processing (NLP) can prove beneficial in consuming quality information efficiently. With the ever-growing number of learning resources, it is becoming onerous for students to choose the best-suited learning resource. Furthermore, many students find it difficult to understand and retain highly factual information. To overcome these issues, this paper proposes a novel Automated TExt Summarization of scholastic text in Table format (Auto-TEST) to provide information at a glance by mimicking the student’s style of note-making. The Auto-TEST framework is achieved through two steps which is Summarization and Tabulation. Initially, the Extractive Single Document Text Summarization (ESDTS) method is adopted to identify the salient information from the non-fictional (scholastic) text which is extracted and grouped together to form a concise summary. A Named Entity Recognition (NER) method is implemented to extract noun chunks and then arrange them in a tabulation format that aids in memorizing essential facts and figures by enabling effortless retrieval. The performance of the Auto-TEST framework is gauged by using scholastic domain-specific dataset using ROUGE as an evaluation metric. The extracted entities gives an average Recall of 71.40%, an average Precision score of 75.80% and an average F-score of 73.54% for the dataset respectively. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The usage of machine learning and deep learning algorithms have necessitated Artificial Intelligence'. AI is aimed at automating things by limiting human interference. It is widely used in IT, healthcare, finance, and agriculture. It is achieved through several deep learning algorithms that reflect the human brain's intelligence. These AI algorithms can be manipulated according to changing needs and improved efficiency. This paper tries to utilize the developments made in AI technology to classify the images and recognize the objects present in them. One widely used AI algorithm is CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks). The CNN is a deep learning-based algorithm that consists of various layers that extract and filters the parameters present in the images. Some additional layers of ResNet50 and the CNN algorithm are used to extract the parameters to improve image recognition accuracy. The image dataset taken for training and testing the proposed model is imageNet. The images are initially processed before sending them to the proposed model. The proposed model is trained, validated, and tested through the images obtained after the initial processing. The same process is repeated several times until getting the maximum accuracy. The accuracy of the proposed model in terms of image recognition is recorded. The obtained results are compared with other image classification algorithms like VGG16 and VGG19. This study investigates the design and execution of an automated attendance tracking system using facial recognition CCTV based. Facial recognition technology and CCTV cameras are integrated in this system to provide a seamless, frictionless way to track and record attendance in real time. In addition to boosting attendance record accuracy, the approach reduces the administrative burden associated with using traditional methods. The suggested system is designed to recognise people when they enter or leave a monitored area by leveraging developments in computer vision. It accomplishes this automatically and requires no interaction from humans. Furthermore, the system's use of the Internet of Things makes it flexible and scalable to a variety of business situations, including offices, schools, and large-scale events. This is made feasible via real-time data synchronising and reporting. © 2025 IEEE.

Modernization and intense industrialization have led to a substantial improvement in people’s quality of life. However, the aspiration for achieving an improved quality of life results in environmental contamination. A primary consequence of environmental degradation is air pollution, resulting from rising levels of poisonous chemicals in the atmosphere, which may induce detrimental health conditions in humans. It is harmful to both humans and agriculture. Given that the effects of air pollution on plants may not be readily apparent, it is important to analyse the necessary data and compute the outcomes. Farmers prioritise on pests and plant diseases, frequently neglecting the detrimental impacts of air pollution. Some plant species can withstand high amounts of pollution from suspended particulate matter and accumulated gases, while others are more susceptible to harm. Therefore, plants’ reaction to air pollution is influenced by the kind of harmful compounds, their levels, and the plant’s susceptibility to them. The LSTM +CNN Proposed Ensemble method may be used to analyse the impact of air pollution on agriculture by examining trends in crop production over time and predicting which crop is more resistant based on the pollution data. The initiative created for this aim may assist farmers in determining the most suitable crop to cultivate in their fields to minimize the impact of air pollution on agricultural yield. The findings show deep learning algorithms correctly predict hourly pollutant concentrations such as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ground-level ozone, and particulate matter 2.5, along with the hourly Air Quality Index (AQI) for California. A proposed model used test RMSE values as a measure to evaluate prediction performance, achieving the best possible results. © 2025 SCPE.
