It is crucial to predict the outputs of a thickening system,including the underflow concentration(UC)and mud pressure,for optimal control of the *** proliferation of industrial sensors and the availability of thickening-system data make this ***,the unique properties of thickening systems,such as the non-linearities,long-time delays,partially observed data,and continuous time evolution pose challenges on building data-driven predictive *** address the above challenges,we establish an integrated,deep-learning,continuous time network structure that consists of a sequential encoder,a state decoder,and a derivative module to learn the deterministic state space model from thickening *** a case study,we examine our methods with a tailing thickener manufactured by the FLSmidth installed with massive sensors and obtain extensive experimental *** results demonstrate that the proposed continuous-time model with the sequential encoder achieves better prediction performances than the existing discrete-time models and reduces the negative effects from long time delays by extracting features from historical system *** proposed method also demonstrates outstanding performances for both short and long term prediction tasks with the two proposed derivative types.

In the domain of traffic management, road toll collection, and parking lot systems, vehicle number plate detection and identification play a pivotal role. Unlike conventional methods that treat license plate detection and character recognition as separate tasks, the system simultaneously addresses both challenges within a single neural network. Our Proposed methodology capitalizes on the efficiency and accuracy of the one-stage object detection algorithm known as YOLO (You Only Look Once) to locate license plates under diverse and challenging conditions. To augment the quality of input images with low resolution or poor clarity, we employ super-resolution generative adversarial networks (SRGANs). The image enhancement process substantially improves the visual quality of captured license plate images, facilitating more precise character recognition. Quantitative assessment of propounded system reveals compelling results. The license plate detection component achieves an outstanding average accuracy rate of 98.5%, surpassing previous methods by 15.2%. This comprehensive approach not only reduces the dependency on manual labour but also elevates processing precision. It seamlessly integrates into existing transportation infrastructure, resulting in heightened operational efficiency, reduced traffic congestion, and enhanced security measures. The rapid evolution of neural networks and deep learning techniques has streamlined the deployment of such applications, revolutionizing the field of traffic monitoring and management with unprecedented ease and precision. One-stage object detector, widely referred to as YOLO, is used to find licence plates in difficult circumstances. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

Deep learning mechanisms allow computers to solve complex real-time problems with complex neural networks, it employs a vital role in health sector, for assisting the medical practitioners with quick and accurate decision making. Various studies on this research area proves that deep learning approaches are more effective in detecting facial paralysis, a common visible symptom of acute stroke. The sealing sign of stroke is facial weakness which destroys the newline muscle movements in the face on one or both sides of the nerves in the brain stream. Accurate and timely detection is most important and need of the golden hour, to patients effectively. Human assessment and traditional diagnostic methods have demonstrated poor inter rated reliability, demanding improved diagnostic tools. By analysing facial asymmetry and other relevant features like Face feature analysis, extracting characteristics such as eye shape, movement, and wrinkles from static images to detect facial weakness is done using various deep learning techniques. This work encompass the real-time challenges such as curating datasets, ethical concerns and data privacy of patients. The objective of this paper is to review the potentiality of various traditional to deep learning algorithms in automising the facial paralysis detection for accurate stroke diagnosis in patients. AI models can provide objective assessments that enhance the reliability of stroke detection. © 2025 IEEE.

Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) is the highest cause of childhood blindness globally with babies born preterm having a higher probability of contracting the disease. The disease diagnosis remains an economic burden to many countries, lack of enough ophthalmologists for the disease diagnosis coupled with non-existent national screening guidelines still remains a challenge. To diagnose the disease, a fundus photography is conducted, printout images are analyzed to determine the presence or absence of the disease. With the increase in the development of smartphones having advanced image capturing and processing features, the utilization of smartphones to capture retina image for disease diagnosis is becoming a common trend. For regions where ophthalmologists are few and/or for low resource regions with few or no retina capturing equipment, the use of smartphones to capture retina images for retina diseases is an effective method. This, however, is challenged: different smartphones produce images of different resolutions;some images are darker others lighter and with different resolution. A smartphone retina image capturing has a smaller field of view ranging between 450-900 which is a major limitation. A lens to support a bigger view can be combined with this approach to provide a wide view of 1300. This enlargement however distorts the image quality and may result in losing some image features. To overcome these challenges, this work develops an improved U-Net model to preprocess images captured using smartphones for ROP disease diagnosis. Our focus is to determine the presence or absence of the disease from smartphone captured images. Because the images are captured under a smaller field of view (FOV), we develop an improved U-Net model by adding patches to enhance image circumference and extract all features from the image and use the extracted features to train a U-Net model for the disease diagnosis. This research involves examining whether sentiment on climate change can be accounted as a systematic risk factor within sustainable finance. Tweets related to climate change from 2014-2022 are collected via the Twitter API. RoBERTa is then deployed to label the collected tweets according to sentiment polarity. Thereafter, DistilBERT is utilised to classify tweets according to their different climate change topics Aggregated, Impact, Politics &icy, Mitigation, Rootcause. Using these sentiment and topic labels, monthly sentiment scores are aggregated from the frequency of sentiment polarity (number of positive, and negative tweets), and segmented according to the topics that the tweets are classified under. On the other hand, we collect the monthly returns of various green ETFs, alongside ETFs that contain stocks from other sectors (technology, oil and gas), as well as 2 baskets of stocks (sustainable and heavy-polluting). We run Fama-French regressions by conducting time series regression of monthly returns on the traditional 3 factors, with specific addition of sentiment scores. © 2024 IEEE.

Stroke and related neurological disorders are difficult to classify accurately, hence new computational approaches are needed to enhance diagnosis. In order to transform the categorization of brain strokes, this study presents Neuro-Xception, a novel framework that combines the Xception architecture with Extreme Learning Machines (ELM). The rapid learning speed and enhanced generalisation capability of ELMs are combined with the feature extraction expertise of Xception to create Neuro-Xception. Through training on large neuroimaging datasets, Neuro-Xception learns complex patterns that are essential for differentiating between different types and intensities of stroke. By means of extensive testing on various datasets, Neuro-Xception exhibits notable gains in performance compared to traditional techniques, indicating its potential to revolutionise stroke detection in medical environments. Furthermore, Neuro-Xception's scalability and flexibility are enhanced by the combination of Xception and ELMs, which makes it a viable tool for real-time clinical decision support systems and personalised medicine. This study highlights how merging Xception and ELMs can revolutionise neurological healthcare and this development could lead to more accurate and efficient diagnostic techniques for treating stroke patients. Neuro-Xception offers a potential path for increasing diagnosis accuracy and expediting timely medical intervention. It is a major step forward in the use of artificial intelligence to enhance patient outcomes and advance the profession of stroke care. © 2024 IEEE.

Land subsidence is a natural disaster caused by the extraction of the earth's material strength on the surface that causes the earth's surface to settle and sink. Land subsidence can also result in significant financial losses since it causes structural damage and expensive maintenance costs for roads, trains, barriers, pipelines, ground water, oil, natural gas, mines, and buildings. The Geographic Information System (GIS) and Google Earth Platform (GEP) can be used to map this land subsidence. This provides a comprehensive view of land pattern subsidence and its interactions with other geographical elements. It applies to both progressive subsidence caused by fluid extraction (groundwater, oil, or natural gas) and rapid surface subsidence caused by the collapse of an underground mine. Risk mitigation is the most effective way to deal with the experimental model. This research study focuses on the use of Predictive Data Analysis (PDA), a powerful environment in data analytics that provides a set of tools that make it easier to evaluate optimal models. The proposed model makes use of a dataset that includes specific land subsidence circumstances as input. The prediction result is achieved using a hybrid machine learning technique that combines Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD) with Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and is compared to K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Generative Adversarial Network (GAN), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). The proposed system employs LSTM and SGD as optimizers, resulting in a hybrid model that improves accuracy. Among the four algorithms investigated the LSTM-SGD network has the highest accuracy (97%), followed by KNN (96%), GAN (90%), and ANN (89%). Due to their ability to capture complicated nonlinear correlations in data and manage temporal dependencies, optimized hybrid ML models LSTM-SGD and KNN models appear to be particularly well-suited for land subsidence prediction. © 2024 The Authors. In this paper, we conduct a comparative analysis of LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) architectures, including GPU LSTM and Convolutional LSTM, for sentiment analysis tasks on an e-commerce dataset. The evaluation is based on precision, recall, and F1-score metrics for classifying positive and negative sentiments in product reviews. Both GPU LSTM and Convolutional LSTM models demonstrate strong performance in classifying positive sentiments. Moreover, these models achieve high precision, recall, and F1-score. However, they struggle with negative sentiment classification, exhibiting zero precision, recall, and F1-score for this class. Overall, both models achieve an accuracy of 0.97, indicating their effectiveness in sentiment analysis tasks. Furthermore, our study underscores the importance of further research to enhance the ability of the LSTM model to classify negative sentiments in e-commerce datasets accurately. © 2024 IEEE.
