A Comparison of Polar Coded 5G NR waveforms-UFMC, F-OFDM, and FBMC in Massive MIMO system

Fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks have the potential to provide seamless connectivity for massive devices with a significantly improved quality of service. In this context, new modulation and coding schemes in small-cell deployment scenarios are implemented at the physical layer of 5G New Radio (NR). With their proven flexibility, Polar codes have emerged as the most adaptable coding technique, achieving Shannon capacity and reducing complexity, targeting mainly control channels. This adaptability of 5 G technology reassures us that it can seamlessly adapt to various scenarios, providing a versatile solution for diverse communication needs. Additionally, more freedom for coordination, Multiple Antenna technology, and Massive Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) provide the vertical spatial domain, where 100 antennas are installed at next-generation Node B (gNB). In this paper, the complete framework for 5G New Radion (NR) based waveforms Filtered-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (F-OFDM), Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC), and Universal Filtered Multi-Carrier (UFMC) systems are designed with Polar coding. Simulation results proved that the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the proposed polar-coded UFMC system is better than polar-coded FBMC and polar-coded F-OFDM by achieving SNR gain of approximately ~2dB and ~12 dB, respectively, over these waveforms in 32x16 MIMO setup. © (2025), (International Hellenic University - School of Science). Metaheuristic algorithm based PID controller using MRAC techniques for control of a nonlinear system

Researchers face a formidable task in devising effective control strategies for highly nonlinear systems. Addressing these challenges, we adopt the MIT rule in our study and employ the Model Reference Adaptive Controller (MRAC) approach to optimize solutions for nonlinear processes. The adaptive controller design, based on MRAC, aims to stabilize a process in the face of large parameter variations and external disturbances affecting the closed-loop system. We apply this technique to analyze a set of closed-loop systems, including Non-Reheat Turbine, Brushless DC Motor (BLDC) and Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) related to process industries. The controller parameter tuning technique, based on Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), is applied to achieve optimal controller performance. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller, we compare the results with the conventional Proportional–Integral–Derivative (PID) and hybridized control techniques. The simulation is performed in the time domain. The time response of Non-Reheat Turbine, BLDC, and CSTR from the ABC-MRAC-MIT controller has a rise time (0.3967 s, 0.4415 s, 0.0850 s), settling time (1.8160 s,2.772 s, 0.4452 s), maximum overshoot (6.30% 3.40% and 6.9279%) respectively. Simulation results reveal the superior time-response characteristics of the proposed ABC-MRAC-MIT technique compared to other existing methods, enhancing the performance of process models and validating the novelty of this work. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The Internet of Things is thriving rapidly in terms of quality and quantity, helping us to provide better services every day. With the wide-spread growth of the Internet of Things, it introduces new technical challenges, such as managing a vast number of devices. In almost every field, like smart homes, smart transactions, automobiles, and healthcare, IoT is being used very effectively. Even though so many architectures and frameworks are proposed to overcome these challenges, security and scalability are major challenges for an IoT system. Additionally, IoT technology has been merged with other advanced technologies, such as cloud computing, big data, and blockchain, to form a strong IoT system. Blockchain is an emerging technology that is based on distributed protocols. It has the potential to ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of an IoT system and can provide secure digital transactions. This paper attempts to identify the current contributions to IoT security using blockchain and highlights various research gaps in this area. The paper concludes with a discussion on open challenges and research issues. © 2024 IEEE.

Intelligent proportional-integral-derivative control techniques for accelerator leg of robot driver

The paper describes the application of the Accelerator Leg of Robot Driver (ALRD) which is applied to automotive tests to save time and cost and improve the accuracy of the tests. The accelerator leg of the robot driver is controlled by Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller technique. PID Control parameters are optimized using proposed Meta-heuristic Techniques such as Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) and Firefly Algorithm (FF) which overcome the limitations of conventional PID controllers. These ABC-PID and FF-PID are employed for automotive tests to obtain coordinated control of the driving test cycle and accurate speed tracking during all types of conditions. Simulation results are then presented to demonstrate improved performance of FF-PID in tracking accuracy compared to the ABC-PID and conventional technique namely Linear-Quadratic-Gaussian (LQG). © Bharati Vidyapeeth's institute of Computer Applications and Management 2024.

The access technology in fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks must meet the demands of high throughput, reliability, and secured connectivity. The 5G New Radio (NR) air interface is a major transition to fulfill dynamic and flexible service requirements. New channel coding techniques need to be analyzed to reduce redundancy and complexity in wireless communication networks. The major channel coding techniques of 5G NR are low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes and polar codes. The channel coding schemes are expected to provide flexibility for block length and code rates. This paper is focused on the design aspects of channel coding required fsor short burst transmissions. In the work, a mathematical model of encoding and decoding algorithms for LDPC and Polar codes is presented, and the key parameter of performance analysis considered is Block error rate (BLER). Simulations are performed to evaluate the BLER performance, and the impact of higher Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) mapping and variable code rate is presented. The major outcome of the work is that the Polar codes are more flexible with less computational complexity than LDPC codes. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In Wireless sensor network (WSN) lifetime of sensors is a critical issue because the sensor nodes having limited power. Therefore, organization of nodes in a proper manner (clustering) becomes one of the major techniques to expand the lifetime and improve the throughput of the network. In this paper we propose a Hybrid Energy Efficient Distributed Protocol (HEED) for clustering in Sensor Network to improve the lifetime of network. The simulation result show that the propose scheme has higher network throughput in terms of higher data packets received than existing LEACH protocol. © Grenze Scientific Society, 2024.

Cloud Computing has received significant attention as it has changed the way of computation. Looking at the benefits of a cloud, more demand for cloud computing services and Multitenancy. Multitenancy offers various advantages including low infrastructure cost, low maintenance, and reducing the application hosting cost. This paper proposes a Multitenant Multiservice SaaS model for designing Multitenant SaaS applications. The model provides a configurable service accessed by different Tenants. The paper further evaluates the Performance implementing this model using data layer patterns as Tenant Specific and Tenant Shared and generates results using Apache JMeter. Our results show that under the Tenant Specific as a Single tenant, Response time is better than Tenant Shared for increasing load defined by the number of concurrent users. With Tenant Shared schema handling multiple tenants with a single instance, the Response time with an increasing number of tenants and concurrent users is almost stable. Since the Tenant Shared model is resource efficient as compared to Tenant Specific, its performance is affected due to shared instances instead of separate application instances for each tenant. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Cryptography is essential to ensure data security in embedded devices that handle sensitive data. SRAM boosts overall performance by temporarily storing cryptographic keys. However, attackers can use side-channel, such as Power Analysis, to exploit power consumption patterns and extract secret keys. Once a key is compromised, encrypted data becomes vulnerable. There are many secure SRAM cell designs available in the literature, but they often degrade other performance parameters. This article presents a novel 10-T SRAM cell design that provides protection against power analysis side-channel attacks (SCA) across all three cell operations, while also maintaining the performance of other key parameters. Monte Carlo simulations were conducted on 1,000 samples each for case when BL = Q and BL ≠ Q during reading, writing, and holding data, using Cadence Virtuoso with a 45-nm technology node at 1V/270°C. Based on these simulations, the mean power difference was evaluated. The proposed P-10T SRAM cell exhibits a 0% mean power difference in all three modes of operation, demonstrating complete resilience to power analysis SCA. The design achieves 84.87% reliability with hold stability, read stability, and write ability values of 429 mV, 242 mV, and 250 mV, respectively. Furthermore, the write power dissipation of P-10T cell is 57.44 μW, which is 1.80 × lower than the power consumed by the conventional 6T cell. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). The Batch Reactor is a commonly used apparatus in various process industries to produce a diverse range of products. However, the inherent nonlinearity and instability associated with chemical reactors pose significant challenges for designing effective control schemes that can reject disturbances and maintain reactor temperature at a reference value to ensure high-quality product manufacturing. In this paper, the conventional PID-Tuner method is used for tuning the controller for reactor, but it may not always provide effective results. Therefore, a GA-PID technique is used to optimize the control gains of the PID controller. These techniques utilize the Genetic Algorithm (GA) to minimize the cost function and derive the optimal PID controller gains. The proposed techniques offer fast computation and error reduction and improve the tracking and robustness behaviour of the chemical reactor system. The MATLAB simulation is conducted to analyse and compare the performance of the PID -Tuner and GA-PID controllers, and the results show a significant improvement in terms of peak overshoot, settling time, peak time, rise time, for the designed controllers. © 2023 IEEE.
