patternrecognition methods were used to treat the experimentally measured data of Pitzer’s coefficients of 107 electrolytes, to find the relationships between the ionic structural parameters of these electrolytes and Pitzer’s coefficients. It is found that these relationships can be approximately expressed as linear equations of four dimensionless numbers, (R_+/R_-), (R_++R_-)/Z_+Z_-, (Z_+/Z_-) and (R_t/R_l), where R_+ and R_- are the cationic and anionic radii respectively; Z_+ and Z_- are the cationic and anionic charge numbers respectively, and (R_t/R_l) denotes the nonsphericity of some non-spherical ions. Besides, it is found that the difference of the nuclear magnetic resonance measured rotational relaxation time of water molecules around cations and anions, |Δτ|, has good correlation with Pitzer’s coefficients. The relationships can be interpreted by the theory of corresponding states of ionic solutions. Based on the relationships, an example of application to some hydrometallurgical process was discussed.

The design and realization of a videoconference system based on international recommendation are introduced in this paper, and the hardware implementation of video codec based on ITU-T H. 261 is briefly discussed. Furthermore, the buffer control method and the adaptive control strategy for quantization are proposed, which are adaptive and robust. This system can be operated under the transmission rate ranging from 128kb/s to 2Mb/s. With these strategies for the videoconference system, the high quality image is obtained. The time delay of the system is about half a second.

In conventional image matching methods, the image matching process is mostly based on image statistic information. One aspect neglected by all these methods is that there is much fuzzy information contained in these images. A new fuzzy matching algorithm based on fuzzy similarity for navigation is presented in this paper. Because the fuzzy theory is of the ability of making good description of the fuzzy information contained in images, the image matching method based on fuzzy similarity would look forward to producing good performance results. In this paper, we propose a novel and robust tracking framework based on online discriminative and low-rank dictionary learning. The primary aim of this paper is to obtain compact and low-rank dictionaries that can provide good discriminative representations of both target and background. We accomplish this by exploiting the recovery ability of low-rank matrices. That is if we assume that the data from the same class are linearly correlated, then the corresponding basis vectors learned from the training set of each class shall render the dictionary to become approximately low-rank. The proposed dictionary learning technique incorporates a reconstruction error that improves the reliability of classification. Also, a multiconstraint objective function is designed to enable active learning of a discriminative and robust dictionary. Further, an optimal solution is obtained by iteratively computing the dictionary, coefficients, and by simultaneously learning the classifier parameters. Finally, a simple yet effective likelihood function is implemented to estimate the optimal state of the target during tracking. Moreover, to make the dictionary adaptive to the variations of the target and background during tracking, an online update criterion is employed while learning the new dictionary. Experimental results on a publicly available benchmark dataset have demonstrated that the proposed tracking algorithm performs better than other state-of-the-art trackers.
