Effects of the speed relaxation time on the optimal velocity car-following model (OVM) with delay time due to driver reaction time proposed by Bando et al.(1995) were studied by numerical methods. Results showed that the OVM including the delay is not physically sensitive to the speed relaxation times. A modified car-following model is proposed to overcome the deficiency. Analyses of the linear stability of the modified model were conducted. It is shown that coexisting flows appear if the initial homogeneous headway of the traffic flow is between critical values. In addition, phase transitions occur on varying the initially homogeneous headway.

A new model-based speech enhancement algorithm by variational Bayesian learning was proposed in this paper. Autoregressive process was used to model speech signal and its order was determined automatically. Clean speech signal could be estimated using a variational Kalman smoother. Moreover, overfitting was avoided in the learning of model parameter and model structure. Experimental results compared with Kalman filter-based enhancement and spectral subtraction methods demonstrate the performance of our algorithm.

A novel video scrambling algorithm based on generalized Fibonacci numbers is given in this paper. The experiment results show that the algorithm has better robust than the traditional video scrambling algorithm. Based on the property of uniformity of the corresponding Fibonacci transformation, the suggested method has the following advantages: (1) Encoding and decoding are very simple and they can be applied in real-time situations. (2) The algorithm can endure severe attacks such as extreme noise levels, very high loss in its data or data packets. (3) The algorithm is independent on any video format or encode mode.

Automatically assessment of photo quality in different categories is of great interest in the recent years. And there are many researches work on it. In this paper, we use several new global and regional features to describe the photo quality. In one image, there is an area where attract the most attention of humans eyes. We call this area subject area. We use two different methods to extract the subject area while dealing with different kinds of images. Then we extract the regional feature from the subject area and background separately. Photos taken by professional photographer have obvious difference between subject area and background. We combine global features and regional features, and our method performs quite well in the database.
