Predicting water quality is essential to preserving human health and environmental sustainability. Traditional water quality assessment methods often face scalability and real-time monitoring limitations. With accuracies of 62%, 72%, 83%, 69%, 63%, 66%, 71%, 63%, and 64%, respectively, the current techniques utilized were Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forest Regressor, Extreme Gradient Boosting, Naive Bayes, K-nearest neighbors, Support Vector Machine, AdaBoost, and Bagging [9]. This study addresses these challenges by leveraging Adaptive Synthetic Sampling (ADASYN) to balance the dataset and evaluating model performance on datasets of 5,000 and 10,000 entries per class. A robust dataset obtained from Kaggle was used, with five models – Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Feed Forward Neural Network (FFNN), Categorical Boosting (CatBoost), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), and Random Forest – evaluated and compared. The proposed methods demonstrate significant improvements in accuracy, with XGBoost achieving the highest accuracy of 95.53%, followed by Random Forest at 93.98%. This work underscores the importance of advanced machine learning techniques in addressing the limitations of traditional methods, enhancing accuracy, scalability, and adaptability in water quality prediction. These findings contribute to advancing environmental monitoring and management practices with reliable, data-driven insights. © 2025 IEEE.

Child safety and well-being in daycare settings are important, thus it is vital that the persons in charge be attentive to them. This research tries to solve the problem by introducing a smart and detailed monitoring system that utilizes new technology to enhance safety and support caretakers. The system has various innovative features, such as child missing detection, behavior and facial expression analysis, cry analysis and categorization, and fall detection. Using high-resolution cameras and on-device Edge AI capabilities, it ensures real-time surveillance of children's activities while protecting privacy. The approach integrates behavior and facial expression analysis to assess emotional states, cry recognition to discover childcare needs, as well as a useful fall detection system that can tell the difference between falls and other movements. All these parts synergize to hand over the necessary information to the caregivers on time and in a way that they can act upon. The quantitative experiments in real-time childcare centers show high accuracy through all the components, attesting to the system's reliability and durability. This research has important significance in improving the safety and the frequency response in daycare centers because it gives caregivers automated tools to quickly address the needs of children. While promising, the system has drawbacks, such as potential biases in data models and a reliance on ideal environmental circumstances. Future work intends to improve flexibility across varied daycare situations, improve accuracy through larger datasets, and investigate ethical frameworks for wider application. © 2024 IEEE.

Achieving a high level of quality in the AV industry involves understanding the complexity of the production cycle with the constant challenges of applying appropriate standards. The need for compliance based on relevant certificates implies the creation of an environment of trust between manufacturers, component suppliers, and end customers. Research should sublimate the most current standards from various fields related to data protection, security, system sustainability, environmental management, financial sustainability, and business transparency. The success of a complex parts supply system is impossible without a stable approach to IT security. The control of production processes sometimes involves using non-standardized techniques, and one of the applicable ones is work-in-progress (WIP), which describes the use of partially finished raw materials in the stages of obtaining final products. Key points and the contribution of the current study are in getting a better overview of the situation within this area related to standards and the financial problems that can arise due to a lack of understanding of standards compliance. The rapid growth and widespread adoption of containerization technologies, such as Docker, and the increasing popularity of Kubernetes as a container orchestration platform have significantly shaped the landscape of modern software development and deployment. Containers have created a paradigm shift in application packaging, offering a consistent and portable environment across diverse infrastructure setups. Meanwhile, Kubernetes has emerged as the dominant choice for managing containerized applications at scale, providing features such as automated scaling, load balancing, and fault tolerance. However, despite the numerous advantages containers and Kubernetes offer, deploying applications to a Kubernetes cluster often poses challenges due to the steep learning curve and complex configuration requirements. To address these challenges, this paper aims to introduce a comprehensive learning tool that automates and simplifies the deployment process on Kubernetes clusters. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

An Experimental Study on the Deviations in Performance of FNNS and CNNS in the Realm of Grayscale Adversarial Images

Convolutional Neural Networks, CNNs are known for their unparalleled accuracy in the classification of benign images. It is observed that neural networks are prone to having lesser accuracy in the classification of images with noise perturbation. The following study resulted in inferences to establish that CNNs are extremely vulnerable at predicting noisy images while Feed-forward Neural Networks, FNNs are least affected due to noise perturbation, maintaining their accuracy almost undisturbed. FNNs showcase better classification accuracy when tested with noise-intensive, single-channelled images that are just sheer noise to human vision. The hand-written digit images from the MNIST dataset t are classified using the architectures of FNNs with 1 and 2 hidden layers and CNNs with 3, 4, 6, and 8 convolutions, which provide the stated experimental inferences. Deviations in the performances of these architectures analyzed systematically propose that FNNs stand out to show a classification accuracy of more than 85%, irrespective of the intensity of noise and CNNs witness a trend in the reduction in speed of classification accuracy against increasing noise intensities. Correlation analysis and mathematical modelling of the accuracy trends act as roadmaps to picture that the change in the speed of classification accuracy against increasing noise intensities for CNN with 8 convolutions is half of that of the rest of the CNNs. This experimental study is a step to quantify the performance of deep learning image classification models in the context of adversarial images. © 2023 School of Science, IHU. All rights reserved.

Digital transformation allows organizations to maintain sustainable development and address ongoing challenges. The current digital transformation and advanced technology mega-trend significantly impact society and organizations, making digital technology crucial for public and private organizations, universities, and daily life. Despite the rising demand, there is often a lack of standard policies governing the use of digital technology. Practical experience and literature reveal key challenges in transitioning from traditional to digital systems, including limited public awareness, mindset, ICT skills, government support, and collaboration between organizations and software engineering societies. Governments must establish digital transformation policies and offer software development guidelines for public organizations to digitalize their systems. Additionally, they should provide or support research projects funded by governmental and nongovernmental organizations to identify infrastructure and regulatory issues within Afghanistan’s digital transformation context. This study documents six organizational patterns observed during the transformation of traditional systems into digital systems, illustrating their sequence and explaining the development of a pattern language from these patterns.

User contributions is an important part in software development, the pursuit of identifying effective means of user contributions in software development is a crucial area of interest for software companies and their development teams. Determining the most opportune moments, locations, and methods for such contributions presents a significant challenge for organizations, which necessitates the exploration of generic and proven solutions. Applying patterns, established and observed solutions may provide the answers to such challenges and similar ones. This paper offers insights into the practical implementation of seven newly discovered organizational patterns in a real-life environment. The patterns are comprehensively described, accompanied by illustrative examples, and subsequently applied in actual practices.

Leveraging the Potential of Large Language Models

This study focuses on enhancing Natural Language Processing (NLP) in generative AI chatbots through the utilization of advanced pre-trained models. We assessed five distinct Large Language Models (LLMs): TRANSFORMER MODEL, FALCON 7B, LAMINI-FLAN-T5-783M, LLAMA-2-7B, and LLAMA-2-13B to identify the most effective one. Our findings revealed that the LLAMA Model excels in comprehending user queries and delivering precise responses during conversations. The article elucidates the methodology employed to evaluate and select various models for our chatbot. Through rigorous testing, we determined that the LLAMA-2-13B model exhibits enhanced response time and accuracy. Additionally, we employed tools such as Facebook Artificial Intelligence Similarity Search (FAISS) and experimented with user interfaces like Streamlit and Chainlit to enhance the chatbot's user-friendliness. The research underscores the significance of selecting the appropriate model for crafting efficient chatbots. Ultimately, the LLAMA-13B model emerged as the standout performer, showcasing superior performance. Benchmark assessments, including HellaSwag and WinoGrande, which gauge common sense reasoning, were employed to evaluate our chatbot's capabilities. The study concludes that LLAMA-based models hold significant promise for the development of innovative and user-friendly chatbots in the future. Povzetek: Študija se osredotoča na izboljšanje obdelave naravnega jezika (NLP) v generativnih AI klepetalnicah z uporabo naprednih vnaprej usposobljenih modelov. Analizirali so pet modelov: TRANSFORMER MODEL, FALCON 7B, LAMINI-FLAN-T5-783M, LLAMA-2-7B in LLAMA-2-13B. Model LLAMA-13B se je izkazal kot najboljši z vrhunskimi rezultati na testih HellaSwag in WinoGrande. Raziskava uporablja orodja, kot je FAISS, in uporabniške vmesnike, kot sta Streamlit in Chainlit za izboljšanje uporabniške izkušnje. © 2024 Slovene Society Informatika. All rights reserved.
