Safety/mission-critical applications require high dependability of the control systems. Their state-of-the-art protection approach is a system-level lockstep. This paper compares the system-level dual and triple lockstep technique to the microarchitecture-level protection of the Hardisc RISC-V core. For a fair comparison, each system is based on the same core(s) and integrates protection against bit-flips in memory and transient faults in the bus. We propose a fault injection methodology, combining pre-synthesis simulation with synthesis data to analyse the vulnerability of a system to faults. The fault injection campaigns show that the Hardisc can withstand fault rates orders of magnitude higher than the dual-core lockstep system while preserving the same area and power consumption. It comes with a 5% frequency penalty. We have shown that system failures are more frequent once the fault rate reaches an application-specific threshold (one fault in 100 clock cycles).

Smart contracts are computer programs that run on blockchain networks, enabling secure, transparent, and decentralized transactions. However, the security of smart contracts has always been a critical issue in the blockchain community. One major concern in recent years is the proliferation of honeypots-malicious contracts that deceive users into depositing funds, only to discover that they cannot withdraw their money and have lost their original deposit. In this research, we present a novel classification of honeypots and introduce a new type of contract that allows for the development of a future-proof method for detecting honeypots based on the contract owner and cash flow. We implement this method in a detection tool called HoneyVader, which uses symbolic execution to identify real-world honeypot contracts. Our tool analyzes over 2 million contracts deployed on the Ethereum network, detecting 139 honeypots. By using HoneyVader, we are able to uncover previously unknown zero-day honeypots and new techniques used by attackers, in addition to the ones identified in previous works. © 2023 IEEE.

With technological improvements in the restaurant industry, competition is fierce, and a restaurant's success depends on providing excellent and luxury customer satisfaction. The food industry has had to continuously advance with technology in order to adequately satisfy the wants of people leading increasingly luxurious lives. While some restaurants still rely on manpower, the majority are eager to advance with technology in order to improve the standard of their offerings and enhance their customers' experiences. In order to optimize customer satisfaction and experience, this research project intends to investigate the potential of intelligence in the restaurant business. This research has explored intelligent systems such as digital self-service menus for ordering food, augmented reality (AR) visualization systems for customers, the observation of chefs in the kitchen, and the usage of robots to serve meals. This research paper analyzes the advantages of automating restaurant operations and how to do so to enhance customer satisfaction. Overall, this study has the potential to transform the restaurant industry and increase customer satisfaction. © 2023 IEEE.

Human emotions, psychology, and social well-being are all parts of mental health. It has an impact on how people feel, think, and act. It aids in figuring out how individuals act under pressure, interact with each other, and arrive at decisions. Every period of life, from childhood and adolescence to maturity, is vital for mental health. There are several elements that affect mental health issues, such as experiences with trauma or abuse in life, work-life stress, relationship difficulties, etc. Help is available for many of the mental health issues that are identified within a person. The proposed solution is implementing a friendly chatbot that is capable of capturing human emotional states (happy, angry, sad, etc.) and mental health states (depression, anxiety, stress, etc.) using human computer interaction and health record management. The proposed solution has been developed by considering both regular users and mental health practitioners. The user can communicate with the proposed assistant using text or voice to identify their emotions and mental health based on keywords, particular characteristics of voice and facial recognition used during the conversation. Once the mental health and emotion statuses are analyzed the electronic health records will be readily available on the blockchain as blockchain tokens, this could be shared with the practitioners securely. © 2023 IEEE.

Deep learning application in diagnosing breast cancer recurrence

Patients' lives can always be saved when diseases, especially special diseases, are detected early. The chances of a patient surviving can be increased by early detection. Breast cancer is one of the deadliest and common cancers. After recovering from breast cancer, patients are always worried about recurrence and return. The use of modern technology, however, can help predict disease recurrence at an early stage, allowing patients to receive treatment sooner. Significant strides have been achieved in deep learning, demonstrating strong performance in handling unstructured data challenges. However, when it comes to predicting tabular data, deep learning hasn't quite matched its success with unstructured data. Presently, ensemble models relying on gradient-boosted decision trees (GBDT) are frequently favored for tabular data prediction tasks. Typically, these GBDT-based models outshine deep learning approaches. Many novel deep learning techniques are emerging for handling tabular data. TabNet, for instance, mirrors decision tree feature selection within a neural network framework. AutoInt addresses high dimensionality by condensing data through embedding layers. Tab Transformer adapts the transformer model, generating text representations for categorical attributes. Despite their innovation, these methods remain less recognized compared to those for image and text data processing. In this study, 158 different characteristics of 5142 breast cancer patients from 1997 to 2019 were examined. We aim to evaluate deep learning techniques effectiveness in detecting breast cancer recurrence. Through examination of evaluation metrics, it becomes evident that deep learning approaches applied to tabular data surpass traditional machine learning algorithms, even when dealing with imbalanced datasets. The automation of processes in greenhouses provides a significant advantage to the agricultural sector. Due to the rapid growth of the population, increasing demand for food and labor shortage make the autonomous monitoring and management of agricultural work more important. Capsicum is a largely consumed vegetable in South Asia, which can be efficiently grown in greenhouses. Although there are many capsicum farms, they lack quality and efficient production to match the increasing demand. This paper proposes a robotic system for use in capsicum greenhouses that can navigate and monitor the plants to identify diseases, track the yield, and take remediation actions. The robot navigates to each plant in the greenhouse autonomously by using the SLAM approach with the use of laser range sensor data. The 4 DoF robotic arm of the robot has a camera and a sprayer attached to its end to investigate plants and spray remedies to diseased plants. The robotic arm moves around the plant to capture the images to detect deceases and count the pods to estimate the yield. The sprayer of the robot sprays remedies precisely to targeted plants to control pests and diseases. The system was successfully implemented and tested with the proposed functions. © 2023 IEEE.

The traveling salesman problem (TSP) has been studied for many years. In particular, the multimodal optimization of the TSP is important for practical applications, because decision-makers can select the best candidate based on current conditions and requirements. In the Euclidean TSP, there are n points in R^d space with Euclidean distance between any two points, that is, d(x, y) =||x-y||_2. The goal is to find a tour of minimum length visiting each point. In this article, we only focus on the case that d=2. Recently, in order to efficiently handle the multimodal optimization of the TSP, some methods have been developed to deal with it. Nevertheless, these methods usually perform poorly for large-scale cases. In this article, we propose a niching regression adaptive memetic algorithm (MA) to handle the multimodal optimization of the Euclidean TSP. We use the MA as the baseline algorithm and incorporate the neighborhood strategy to maintain the population diversity. In addition, we design a novel regression partition initialization and adaptive parameter control to enhance our algorithm, and propose the concept of the redundant individual to improve the search efficiency. To validate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we comprehensively conduct experiments on the multimodal optimization of TSP benchmark and the well-known TSPLIB library. The experimental results reveal that the proposed method outperforms other methods, especially for large-scale cases. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

People are more and more in a position to work remotely. They face the same problems of establishing and running remote work environments over and over again. In order to help them a bit, six organizational patterns of remote work environments are presented in this paper: Unofficial Meetings, Remote Mentor, Unified Communication Channels, Standard Operating Procedures, information Hub, and Cut Meetings. The patterns come from a firsthand remote work experience obtained in a company focusing on quality assurance through a crowd testing methodology where software companies get real users to test their newest products. © 2022 ACM.

Doppler sensors are well known, the theory about them has been developed and many years of use have proven the effectiveness of such devices. At the same time, it is possible to utilize such sensors in a non-traditional way, which could allow expanding the range of their usage, creating new technologies and projects. This paper is devoted to one of such cases – the creation of a digital information transmission system consisting of two Doppler sensors performing in the 24 GHz band. The article describes the design procedure, provides recommendations for using such a system, and presents the results of the study of the system key parameters. © 2024 IEEE.

Maternal health is among the greatest challenges in the world, especially in rural areas as there lack medical practitioners, they do not have easily accessible publics clinics and transport is difficult. Therefore, high rates of maternal as well as infant morbidity and mortalities are recorded. This research utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) with machine learning algorithms to forecast and address maternal health hazards right at their onset stage. The current research utilizes the concept of AI along with many Machine Learning (ML) methods like the Ensemble Learning Model (ELM), Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Decision-Tree (DT), XG-Boost (XGB), Cat Boost (CB), and Gradient Boosting (GB), along with Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) algorithm used for dealing with the problem class imbalance within the data set. SMOTE algorithm is utilized for the dataset balancing process. The handling system involves refining data preprocessing with the help of feature engineering and robust data cleaning which makes sure that anomalies do not erode the reliability of the predictive model. The existing methods [1] used RF (90%), DT (87%), XGB (85%), CB (86%), and GB (81%) algorithms and were compared with the accuracies of the proposed models like Logistic Regression (LR), Ensemble Learning Bagging (ELB), Ensemble Learning Stacking (ELS), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU). The existing methods used only imbalance dataset. The accuracies of the proposed models with using SMOTE algorithm (balanced dataset) are LR (61.33%), KNN (81%), ELB (92.33%), ELS (90.66%) CNN (40.67%), RNN (59.67%), LSTM (54%), GRU (56%) respectively. Among these methods, ELB achieved 92.33% of accuracy with using SMOTE algorithm using imbalanced dataset. Whereas the accuracies of the proposed models without using SMOTE algorithm (imbalanced dataset) are LR (66.09%), KNN (68.47%)
