In this work, we present a self-supervised dual constraint contrastive method for efficiently fine-tuning the vision-language pre-trained (VLP) models that have achieved great success on various cross-modal tasks, since full fine-tune these pre-trained models is computationally expensive and tend to result in catastrophic forgetting restricted by the size and quality of labeled datasets. Our approach freezes the pre-trained VLP models as the fundamental, generalized, and transferable multimodal representation and incorporates lightweight parameters to learn domain and task-specific features without labeled data. We demonstrated that our self-supervised dual contrastive model performs better than previous fine-tuning methods on MS COCO and Flickr 30K datasets on the cross-modal retrieval task, with an even more pronounced improvement in zero-shot performance. Furthermore, experiments on the MOTIF dataset prove that our self-supervised approach remains effective when trained on a small, out-of-domain dataset without overfitting. As a plug-and-play method, our proposed method is agnostic to the underlying models and can be easily integrated with different VLP models, allowing for the potential incorporation of future advancements in VLP models. © 2023 The Authors.

We provide several novel algorithms and lower bounds in central settings of mixed-integer (non-)linear optimization, shedding new light on classic results in the field. This includes an improvement on record running time bounds obtained from a slight extension of Lenstra's 1983 algorithm [Math. Oper. Res.'83] to optimizing under few constraints with small coefficients. This is important for ubiquitous tasks like knapsack-, subset sum- or scheduling problems [Eisenbrand and Weismantel, SODA'18, Jansen and Rohwedder, ITCS'19]. Further, we extend our algorithm to an intermediate linear optimization problem when the matrix has many rows that exhibit 2-stage stochastic structure, which adds to a prominent line of recent results on this and similarly restricted cases [Jansen et al. ICALP'19, Cslovjecsek et al. SODA'21, Brand et al. AAAI'21, Klein, Reuter SODA'22, Cslovjecsek et al. SODA'24]. We also show that the generalization of two fundamental classes of structured constraints from these works (n-fold and 2-stage stochastic programs) to separable-convex mixed-integer optimization are harder than their mixed-integer, linear counterparts. This counters a widespread belief popularized initially by an influential paper of Hochbaum and Shanthikumar, namely that "convex separable optimization is not much harder than linear optimization" [J. ACM'90]. To obtain our algorithms, we employ the mixed Graver basis introduced by Hemmecke [Math. Prog.'03], and our work is the first to give bounds on the norm of its elements. Cloud computing proved itself a powerful and popular platform for providing computing services. It offers on-demand services to users with highly efficient resources over the internet. With the exponential increase in the number of internet users and due to the high acceptance rate to use the cloud services in everything, the demand for cloud platforms has also increased significantly. This leads to heavy workloads on the servers, which is a difficult task to manage due to the heterogeneity and uncertainty of the resources. However, several traditional, heuristic, and evolutionary-based approaches have been proposed to solve the problem of scheduling. Existing state-of-art techniques and frameworks have solved the problem up to a limited level. Still, these solutions have not given any effective and concrete solution for the overall resource scheduling problem. Therefore, this paper tries to overcome the bottleneck of existing solutions by presenting a new framework named Genetic Algorithm Water Pressure Change (GAWPC) to solve task scheduling problems efficiently. The GAWPC framework exploited the feature of the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Water Pressure Change optimization (WPCO) techniques to form a new hybrid mechanism. In the proposed framework, GA has been deployed to find the optimal solution for a particular population. WPCO has been used to optimize fitness function for a fast convergence rate. The computer-based simulation has demonstrated promising benefits like improved computation cost, make-span time, and load balancing when compared with the most recent existing baseline techniques using CloudSim. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Computational Intelligence (CI) is a more efficient paradigm for solving real-world problems in uncertain conditions. The traditional CI approaches are not capable to provide the complete and sufficient solutions for problems. Therefore, new techniques are necessary to efficiently solve these issues seriously. New techniques, such as Emergent Intelligence (EI), Multi-Agent System (MAS), etc., provide robust, generic, flexible, and self-organised to solve complex real-world problems. In this paper, we discuss Emergent Intelligence (EI) and its uniqueness in solving problems in an uncertain environment. We also discuss EI, Swarm Intelligence (SI) and MultiAgent System (MAS)-based problem-solving in an uncertain environment and compared their performance. We have considered two different problems: job shop scheduling using EI and MAS and route establishment for routing using MAS, SI and EI in an uncertain environment. Each problem is categorically analysed and solved step by step using MAS, SI and EI in a dynamic environment. We measure the performance of these three methods by varying the number of agents, tasks and time. Performance measures are compared and shown to demonstrate the importance of EI over MAS and SI for solving problems in an uncertain environment. © 2021 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The theses is in line with works aimed at studying the possibility of using mathematical algorithms for parallel processing of information in reverse blockchain technology. The paper examines the use of parallel signal processing algorithms to improve the speed and quality of control systems for autonomous dynamic objects using reverse blockchain technology. The use of reverse blockchain technology is due to the possibility of loss of control signals and, at the same time, the inadmissibility of loss of control in the event of changes in the conditions and parameters of the operation of the obj ect. The purpose of the work is to analyze the implementation of solutions for parallel information processing for various models of industrially produced equipment and to develop solutions to increase the efficiency of reverse blockchain technology when using parallel data processing. © 2024 IEEE.

Road is an essential transportation infrastructure to move people and goods to support economic prosperity. The efficiency, safety, security, and comfort of people have significant consequences by damage and defects on the road surface. A good-condition road ensures the land traffic runs well. This research is a collaboration between the Bandung institute of technology and the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of West Java Province to develop a smart system for road damage surveys. The system was built by leveraging machine vision and IoT technologies to improve the performance of the road survey activities. The previous road damage detection, classification method, and pavement condition index (IKP) computation were performed semi-automatically. The proposed survey system developed in this work uses the Canny edge Detection algorithm and MobileNet V2 architecture to detect road defects automatically. The pavement condition index computation also improved by using the interpolation reduction factor. The system is designed into a four-layer architecture that consists of several functions and modules, i.e., the sensor system that includes a vision sensor, GPS and odometry, a hardware embedded system using a microcontroller, and machine learning to process the road condition image automatically, and a dashboard application to reveal the road condition on map. The performance resulted in accuracy, precision, recall, and F-score of the road damage detection are 54.5%, 24.2%, 78.9%, and 37%, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Wind energy plays a more significant role in power grids due to its eco-friendly and renewable characteristics. This study proposes an improved prediction approach using the DLinear model, which incorporates the interactive learning module along with the channel and token attention mechanisms. The initial step involves decomposing the input time series into trend and seasonal components with a moving average kernel, followed by applying interactive learning to improve the modeling of these components. The combined framework demonstrates superior performance on multiple private datasets, significantly improving prediction accuracy and reliability compared to existing baseline models. The experimental findings show that the proposed method achieves a lower mean square error (MSE) and a lower mean absolute error (MAE) than several current models on two private datasets, thereby showcasing the combined effectiveness of these two modules. © 2024 IEEE.

A semi-analytical finite element method(SAFEM),based on the two-scale asymptotic homogenization method(AHM)and the finite element method(FEM),is implemented to obtain the effective properties of two-phase fiber-reinforced composites(FRCs).The fibers are periodically distributed and unidirectionally aligned in a homogeneous *** framework addresses the static linear elastic micropolar problem through partial differential equations,subject to boundary conditions and perfect interface contact *** mathematical formulation of the local problems and the effective coefficients are presented by the *** local problems obtained from the AHM are solved by the FEM,which is denoted as the *** numerical results are provided,and the accuracy of the solutions is analyzed,indicating that the formulas and results obtained with the SAFEM may serve as the reference points for validating the outcomes of experimental and numerical computations.

An autonomous mobile robot system is a distributed system consisting of mobile computational entities (called robots) that autonomously and repeatedly perform three operations: Look, Compute, and Move. Various problems related to autonomous mobile robots, such as gathering, pattern formation, or flocking, have been extensively studied to understand the relation between each robot's capabilities and the solvability of these problems. In this study, we focus on the complete visibility problem, which involves relocating all the robots on an infinite grid plane so that each robot is visible to every other robot. We assume that each robot is a luminous robot (i.e., has a light with a constant number of colors) and opaque (not transparent). In this paper, we propose an algorithm to achieve complete visibility (i.e., every robot can observe all the other robots) when a set of robots is given. The algorithm ensures that complete visibility is achieved even when robots operate asynchronously and have no knowledge of the total number of robots on the grid plane using only two colors. © 2023 IEEE.

The Named Data Networking (NDN) paradigm has been used as a promising vehicle communication model, namely the Vehicular Named Data Networking (V-NDN) model. In NDN, delivery of interest in the NDN network is done by selecting an existing interface. The problem is as to which interface is right in terms of fulfilling the request that suits the user. In this study, we compare the effectiveness of each forwarding strategy by creating new scenarios, such as variations in the number of interests and simulation time. We also measure the effectiveness of the forwarding strategy using the parameters specified in the NFD Forwarding Pipeline. The conclusion from the experiment is that superior forwarding strategy recommendations are based on content store (CS) management and data compatibility obtained based on consumer demand for producers. © 2023 IEEE.
