In this paper, we consider a novel hybrid reconfigurable intelligent surface (HRIS) consisting of active as well as passive reflecting elements mounted on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The aim is to improve air-to-ground communication by assisting multiple users, while detecting several moving targets. We formulate an optimization model that account for statistical channel estimation errors (SCEEs) to concurrently fine-tune both active and passive phase-shift matrices, UAV trajectory and transmit beamformer for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC), while aiming to maximize the overall achievable sum-rate. Subsequently, we introduce an alternating optimization algorithm that employs a repetitive method to address the combinatorial nonconvex optimization problem and ultimately yielding a solution that is nearly optimal. Using Monte Carlo simulations, we showcase the superiority of the suggested approach in comparison to baseline schemes. © 2024 IEEE.

This work presents a numerical investigation of acoustic cavitation in Newtonian fluid based on frequency ultrasound. The model of ultrasonic cavitation dynamics is formulated by a modified Rayleigh-Plesset equation and an acoustic pressure equation. The exponential B-Spline collection method was employed to obtain the numerical solutions of the given cavitation bubble model, considering the effect of acoustic pressure. The behaviour of the cavitation microbubbles' radius and the internal pressure of acoustic cavitation were examined at different values of frequencies. The obtained results reveal the importance of frequencies in ultrasound, which play a vital role in changing the behaviour of cavitation bubbles. © 2023 IEEE.

The development and use of connected vehicles are becoming increasingly important areas of study in the wireless networking and transportation research communities. These networks can provide various services such as collision warning. Unlike other types of devices, such as hand-held devices, the vehicles' nodes are not limited by their energy consumption and storage capacity. Therefore, the development of connected networks can be carried out with minimal resources. It is necessary to run a simulation in order to determine whether they are feasible. The availability of multiple devices and protocols has led to the creation of new utilization scenarios. Due to the complexity of the task, many simulation tools were developed during the past few years. This paper systematically reviews the current state of these tools and discusses their capabilities to evaluate the various scenarios related to the development of connected vehicles network. © 2023 IEEE.

Poultry productions have shifted towards larger farms and often cluster in certain regions. However, many of the smaller farms with a considerable amount of production are not considered concentrated animal feeding operation under regulation in many regions, and therefore are not required to obtain a permit. As a result, information of these operations is not being recorded and monitored, contributing to an increased risk for biosecurity issues. The development in computer vision and availability of high-resolution remote sensing imagery allows the possibility for automatic localization and operation estimation of the unregistered farms, filling in the missing information needed for biosecurity risk management. The farm information extracted from images can be incorporated with other available geospatial data, such as road networks, watersheds, etc., to build a comprehensive knowledge base for actionable plans. In the current study, we present a framework for automated localization, analysis, and visualization of poultry farms from remote sensing images. A robust machine learning method was developed to computationally link the visual features from remote sensing imagery to Missouri Department of Natural Resources Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation data, to identify the animal farm type, location, and potential capacity in the region. The developed process can be performed automatically on images of different timestamps to analyze temporal and spatial development of poultry production facilities of a region. This research contributes to the effective management and regulation of poultry and potentially other animal farms, providing insights into farm characteristics and capacities while facilitating informed decision-making. © 2023 IEEE.

Digital Marketing is a product marketing strategy using digital media and internet networks. Nowadays, digital marketing is a necessity for companies that thrive in the digital world. It greatly affects the growth of MSME (Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises) especially when it comes to increasing their sales performance by enhancing their brand awareness through various media or instruments such as a Facebook ad, Instagram advertising, Search Engine Optimization, and Search Engine Marketing. This research is aimed to measure how much impact of digital marketing utilization into Micro, Small, Medium enterprises. On the other hand, it also provides an understanding on what are the best digital marketing method to be utilized in the current situation. The method we used in this paper is quantitative. Data were collected through various questions constructed in an electronic questionnaire. This research provides a reference of digital marketing strategies for Micro, Small and Medium business owners. The result shows that digital marketing has a huge impact on the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise from increasing sales, increasing brand awareness, and gaining customers based on the data collected from both customer and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise players in Indonesia. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

As a subset of machine learning, meta-learning, or learning to learn, aims at improving the model’s capabilities by employing prior knowledge and experience. A meta-learning paradigm can appropriately tackle the conventional challenges of traditional learning approaches, such as insufficient number of samples, domain shifts, and generalization. These unique characteristics position meta-learning as a suitable choice for developing influential solutions in various healthcare contexts, where the available data is often insufficient, and the data collection methodologies are different. This survey discusses meta-learning broad applications in the healthcare domain to provide insight into how and where it can address critical healthcare challenges. We first describe the theoretical foundations and pivotal methods of meta-learning. We then divide the employed meta-learning approaches in the healthcare domain into two main categories of multi/single-task learning and many/few-shot learning and survey the studies. Finally, we highlight the current challenges in meta-learning research, discuss the potential solutions, and provide future perspectives on meta-learning in healthcare. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Substance abuse is the unrestrained and detrimental use of psychoactive chemical substances, unauthorized drugs, and alcohol that can ultimately lead a human to disastrous consequences. As patients with this behavior display a high value of relapse, the best intervention approach is to prevent it at the very beginning. In this paper, we propose a framework based on machine learning techniques to identify individual vulnerability towards substance abuse by analyzing socio-economic aspects. We have carefully assessed the commonly involved causes to form the questionnaire for collecting data from healthy people and patients suffering from substance abuse. Using Pearson’s chi-squared test of independence, feature importance is measured to eliminate less significant features using backward elimination. Popular machine learning classification algorithms (Random Forest, Decision Tree, Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machine, K-Nearest neighbors, and Gaussian Naive Bayes) are used to build the predictive classifier. To identify the key risk-factors of individual substance abuse, we extract association rules from the significant features and subsequent factors. 3D semantic segmentation using an adapting model trained from a source domain with or without accessing unlabeled target-domain data is the fundamental task in computer vision, containing domain adaptation and domain generalization. The essence of simultaneously solving cross-domain tasks is to enhance the generalizability of the encoder. In light of this, we propose a groundbreaking universal method with the help of off-the-shelf Visual Foundation Models (VFMs) to boost the adaptability and generalizability of cross-domain 3D semantic segmentation, dubbed UniDSeg. Our method explores the VFMs prior and how to harness them, aiming to inherit the recognition ability of VFMs. Specifically, this method introduces layer-wise learnable blocks to the VFMs, which hinges on alternately learning two representations during training: (i) Learning visual prompt. The 3D-to-2D transitional prior and task-shared knowledge is captured from the prompt space, and then (ii) Learning deep query. Spatial Tunability is constructed to the representation of distinct instances driven by prompts in the query space. Integrating these representations into a cross-modal learning framework, UniDSeg efficiently mitigates the domain gap between 2D and 3D modalities, achieving unified cross-domain 3D semantic segmentation. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our method across widely recognized tasks and datasets, all achieving superior performance over state-of-the-art methods. Remarkably, UniDSeg achieves 57.5%/54.4% mIoU on "A2D2/sKITTI" for domain adaptive/generalized tasks.
