Different approaches for measuring the quality of scientific articles are considered. Difficulties and problems associated with using Science Citation Index (SCI) as well as various methods to improve it are discussed. Optimal methods for collective expertise are proposed. The advantages of the linguistic approach to the problem are discussed. A specific method for estimating the information content of scientific texts based of the linguistic approach is presented. The method can measure "idea-based" influence and how ideas propagate between articles. Idea is presented very precisely as a set of phrases with similar meaning. Phrases representing the ideas in the texts of the articles form together a system of implicit references/links. Implicit link is a reference to the author or his ideas in the text. Bibliometric measures which in addition to bibliographic references also take into account the implicit links can more accurately measure scientific impact and the quality of the articles. © 2019 ICAI 2015 - WORLDCOMP 2015. The increasing interaction of modern industrial control systems (ICS) to the outside Internet world influences making these systems vulnerable to a wide range of cyber-attacks. Moreover, the utilisation of Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) products, as well as open communication protocols, made them attractive targets to various threat agents including cyber-criminals, national-state, and cyber-terrorists. Given that, today's ICSs are deriving the most critical national infrastructures. Therefore, this raises tremendous needs to secure these systems against cyber-attacks. Intrusion detection technology has been considered as one of the most essential security precautions for ICS networks. It can effectively detect potential cyber-attacks and malicious activities and prevent catastrophic consequences. This paper puts forward a new method to detect malicious activities at the ICS net-works.

5 G cellular networks are supposed to accommodate the ever-increasing data explosion and hyper-dense installation of base stations thanks to their capacity to leverage connectivity and cost-effectiveness. 5G networks can accommodate far more applications concurrently than the existing infrastructure easily and efficiently. This is particularly relevant in view of the fact that the Internet is going to be used by around 41.6 billion linked users by 2025. Many will require guaranteed access to cloud services to function safely, like autonomous vehicle systems and industrial sensors. Whilst 4G networks (which use the Internet Protocol and Wifi, wireless and reaction-based networking) dominated the environment of telecommunications, Artificial intelligence Technology has advanced, along with its numerous sub-categories, including machine learning and deep learning, which was ready for delivering 5G networks for individuals to tackle the decreased bandwidth capacity of 4G. This project encourages us to create location optimization technologies that chooses ideal places for services antennas, ensuring the best potential coverage and use computer training algorithms to distribute resources dynamically to minimise user interference and to save energy. © 2020 IEEE.

Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) has been acknowledged as a very good practice in the workplace. With its increasing popularity where personal as well as organizational data are accessed using BYOD, there have been raising concerns on privacy and security. Most BYOD risks are related to unauthorized access to policy changes and information, leaking sensitive information to people, breach of organization data and privacy, access control, misuse, and even stolen devices. Privacy violations are of widely security breaches in business organizations when users are using their own personal devices. In this paper, it presents the appropriate theories and models to derive a set of validated determinants of protection intentions towards the protection behaviors of BYOD. The introduction of BYOD calls for a thorough investigation of whether or not such a practice poses vulnerabilities and threats to organizations. © 2019 IEEE.

In contemporary practical scenarios, the integration of diverse renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass, geothermal, and energy storage solutions like batteries, presents complex challenges. These challenges demand simultaneous optimization of energy production, system reliability enhancement, and cost minimization including those related to fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. Hence, it is imperative to develop comprehensive models that address all these objectives. This paper proposes novel multi-objective and multi-level mathematical models tailored for Hybrid Renewable energy Systems (HRESs), facilitating the simultaneous consideration of diverse objectives and decision-making levels within renewable energy integration frameworks. To effectively tackle the complexity of these models, two efficient hybrid algorithms are introduced. The first algorithm employs a combined smoothing approach to address multi-level problems, leveraging Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) conditions, mathematical principles, and heuristic functions to smooth the multi-level model. Additionally, Taylor approximation is employed to further refine the smoothed problem. The second algorithm, tailored for multi-objective models, operates in two phases: initially, a heuristic algorithm simplifies objective functions through interpolation; subsequently, the population is optimized using the Laying Chicken Algorithm (LCA), with a neural network refining the best LCA generation to identify the Pareto front in multi-objective problems. The proposed algorithms significantly improve system efficiency by optimizing the integration of diverse renewable energy sources and energy storage, leading to reduced operational costs and enhanced sustainability outcomes. These advancements offer promising real-world applications in optimizing energy systems, supporting the transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy infrastructure globally. At the heart of every critical national infrastructure, there is a SCADA system. The wide range of supported applications has made this life-saving management system the key element of every industrial control infrastructure in various sectors. The complexity and sophistication of SCADA systems have been increased dramatically over the last few years. Various cyberattacks have targeted these systems by exploiting zero-day vulnerabilities or targeting a nearby Internet-enabled appliance or computer system. To this end, many efforts have been proposed previously to model the threats on SCADA systems to eliminate potential danger and diminish the catastrophic consequences in the physical domain. The Malaysian Education System have recently implemented the home-based teaching and learning or Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran di Rumah (PdPR) classes due to the outbreak of the pandemic COVID19. Since students were not able to go to schools during the lockdown period, teachers and parents have resorted to creating various methods to engage students in their learning process. Multi-touch technology on tablet appears as a promising tool in visual learning especially during this pandemic out-break. This paper presents a preliminary study conducted on a research project in developing a Visual Learning Application for Mathematics using Holographic Display for the topic on Shape and Space based on Multi-Touch Technology called MEL-VIS. A preliminary study was conducted on fifteen (15) primary school teachers. The results of the preliminary study showed that the topic on Shape and Space is a topic that most students had major problems when learning Mathematics at three (3) primary schools. Students were found to have difficulty in understanding the concepts being taught due to factors such as: abstractive phenomena and concepts;as well as possessing low imagination. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

One of the main issues in power systems relates to scheduling of energy resources. With the ever-increasing penetration of renewable energies with intermittent power output, this issue has turned into an even more significant problem. Renewable energy sources (RESs) have captured attention due to their low environmental emission and also low running cost. One drawback that may be brought into power systems is the surplus power generation by such generation technologies that should be carefully addressed in power system-related problems. This paper proposes the unscented transform modeling to consider the stochastic behavior of charge and discharge of EVs, random performance of photovoltaic, load demand and wind turbine systems. Due to the unpredictable nature of solar and wind power outputs, as well as plug-in electric vehicle owners' behavior when supplying or receiving power from the grid, a stochastic programming-based approach is proposed to operate microgrids in grid-connected configuration mode. The integration of vehicle to grid (V2G) has a good ability to minimize the operating cost of the MG. An integrated optimization model is presented in this study for optimal operation of the MG with high penetration of PEVs and RESs. Modified sunflower optimization algorithm (MSFO) algorithm is applied in this paper to address the optimization problem. The single-objective stochastic optimization is used for minimizing the total operating cost over the day taking into consideration the uncertainties due to the RESs’ power output intermittency, including wind speed and solar irradiance and load demand forecast error. Several case studies are taken into account to show the efficiency of the optimal operation with PEVs. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Love scams, online scams and how absurd as it may seem, still causes people to lose their money. This issue happens because some people are still susceptible to social engineering. Our investigation attempts to find out how people could be exploited for this type of social engineering attack on social media. Social engineering could be categorized into passive and active reconnaissance. Our experiment involves individuals such as UNITEN students and Instafamous to find out if such attempts would deceive them. The methodology proposed is the attack cycle that consists of four steps: information gathering, establishing relationship and rapport, exploitation, and execution. This case study will also explore the possible uses of valuable information of target that can be gathered based on passive and active reconnaissance.

This paper presents a brief review on smart grids. Environmental destruction that is marked by high CO2 level or green-house gas emissions due to excessive use of fossil fuels is a serious challenge that must be minimized immediately. One of the most prominent impact is the destruction of natural ecosystems such as forest fires due to very high temperature, rising sea level, flash flood, melting of iceberg in the north and south poles and uncertain natural climates. From the energy sec-tor that contribute most to global warming is the power generation sector. Currently there are still many power plants that use fossil fuels such as petroleum and coal as the main source of turbine drive in generating electrical energy. Renewable energy is capable of generating electrical energy without generating and increasing greenhouse gases. Current renewable energy utilization trends continue to increase which contributes to the birth of the smart grid concept. Current electricity transmission and distribution networks can be categorized as conventional electricity networks because they have not been able to provide excellent service and present real-time data. This network has not been able to provide reliability, safety and efficiency in supplying electrical energy even not yet have the flexibility to be integrated with the generation of renewable energy or microgrid. So the introduction of smart grid technology is a necessity to reduce the impact of global warming while encouraging efficiency, reliability and effective governance in the supply of electrical energy.
