In this work, the role of gold nanoparticles in enhancing the sensitivity of Radio Frequency based biomolecule detection is assessed. A facile, efficient and rapid microstrip patch antenna based sensor, resonating at 61.747 GHz is utilized for the analysis. Gold nanoparticles are placed in the vicinity of biomolecules, and the extent of improvement is studied under various conditions. In particular, different morphological variations and arrangements of gold particles are investigated. The results indicate that, in general, the presence of gold nanoparticles contributes towards sensitivity improvement. However, the amount of enhancement strongly depends upon the morphological features and arrangements of gold particles and varies within 5-65% for the scenarios studied in this case.

In light of recent advancements in Internet of Multimedia Things (IoMT) and 5G technology, both the variety and quantity of data have been rapidly increasing. Consequently, handling zero-shot cross-modal retrieval (ZSCMR) of unlabeled multi-modal data has emerged as a prominent research topic. Early models utilized generative adversarial networks and class embeddings to assist in building a common feature space. However, this approach resulted in a loss of reliability in the feature distributions of individual modalities. In this paper, we propose a method called Ranking on Heterogeneous Manifold (RHM) to address the aforementioned issue. Our model comprises three feature extractors, each dedicated to extracting features from text, images and multimodal data. Subsequently, the relationship structures derived from these feature extractors are employed to construct a heterogeneous manifold. A diffusion process is then conducted on this heterogeneous manifold, ultimately yielding the final ranking scores. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed modal has the capability to acquire more effective knowledge representation, thus enhancing the effectiveness of ZSCMR. © 2023 IEEE.

The rapid evolution of the digital world has elevated the task of domain name categorization to a critical challenge, essential for content filtering, fraud prevention, and cybersecurity. This paper introduces the “Dimensional Fusion Classifier” (DFC), a novel approach that integrates multi-dimensional data analysis with state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to enhance domain name categorization. Central to the DFC methodology is the construction of a rich dataset encompassing a wide range of domain attributes, including domain names, subdomains, titles, content, and Whois information. This multifaceted dataset lays the groundwork for our advanced classification model, which synergistically combines the contextual processing capabilities of BGE, the sequential data proficiency of BiLSTM, and the targeted precision of an Attention mechanism. This fusion enables a comprehensive interpretation and sophisticated classification of domain names, based on their complex attributes. Extensive experimental validation of DFC against established baseline models demonstrates its superiority across key performance metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score. Our results reveal DFC's enhanced ability to interpret and classify intricate domain name data, outperforming traditional models. By fusing multi-dimensional data analysis with advanced deep learning algorithms, DFC sets a new standard in domain name categorization. This research marks a significant contribution to the field, offering an effective solution for domain name categorization and laying the groundwork for future advancements in web content analysis and internet security.

We consider the problem of target range-angle imaging using distributed arrays. High resolution imaging requires a large array aperture. However, due to the limited number of array elements, the subarrays are usually sparsely located, which results in severe under-sampling and ambiguity problem, degrading the imaging performance. To this end, we propose a range-angle imaging method based on the prior of target scattering characteristic to resolve the ambiguity. The main idea is to use the information increment of priors to reduce the dependence on the measurements. Particularly, we first statistically extract the prior distribution of target scattering intensity by data analysis on the target images. Then we use these priors to design weighting parameters and achieve the ambiguity-free images by solving a weighted sparse recovery problem. Finally, numerical simulation results verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

On the Generalization and Causal Explanation in Self-Supervised Learning

Self-supervised learning (SSL) methods learn from unlabeled data and achieve high generalization performance on downstream tasks. However, they may also suffer from overfitting to their training data and lose the ability to adapt to new tasks. To investigate this phenomenon, we conduct experiments on various SSL methods and datasets and make two observations: (1) Overfitting occurs abruptly in later layers and epochs, while generalizing features are learned in early layers for all epochs;(2) Coding rate reduction can be used as an indicator to measure the degree of overfitting in SSL models. Based on these observations, we propose Undoing Memorization Mechanism (UMM), a plug-and-play method that mitigates overfitting of the pre-trained feature extractor by aligning the feature distributions of the early and the last layers to maximize the coding rate reduction of the last layer output. The learning process of UMM is a bi-level optimization process. We provide a causal analysis of UMM to explain how UMM can help the pre-trained feature extractor overcome overfitting and recover generalization. We also demonstrate that UMM significantly improves the generalization performance of SSL methods on various downstream tasks. Due to the prevalence of the COVID-19 epidemic around the globe, children were compelled to engage in remote learning through online platforms, hence mobile phone has become one of their predominant devices. Mobile device with Internet access offers a major outlet for education, entertainment, and social connection, but this combination can lead to several significant bad sequences such as online exploitation, harmful addictions, and other negative impacts of online social networking. To address harmful effects, parental controls are becoming more crucial, yet Sri Lankan parents are less aware of this. Consequently, this study proposes a parental control system to monitor their child’s activities. Android, Microsoft Azure, Java, Python, OpenCV, MySQL, and FastAPI are among the most prominent technologies utilized in the proposed application’s development. The suggested approach focuses primarily on the Sri Lankan context and aims to enhance parental digital literacy while safeguarding children from cyber threats. Yielded results showed the proposed mobile application for the identification of toxic words, drugs & alcohol content, game character images, and Instagram Sinhala comments severity as 94%, 95%, 97%, and 55% respectively in controlled experiments.

To address the problem of illegal information flow in the node chain access control model constructed by the existing attribute-based access control (ABAC) model when applied to a large-scale node chain scenario with more than 100 nodes, an illegal information flow detection method is proposed for the node chain access control model based on the classical Petri net. The method introduces the reachable identity and reachable identity graph of the classical single-Token Petri net, which can analyze the illegal information flow in the ABAC-based node-chain access control model conveniently and visually. Meanwhile, it can effectively use the reachable identity state in the Petri net to detect the illegal information flow in the model. The case analysis shows that the method can effectively detect the illegal information flow appearing in the model.

IPv6 network is developing rapidly, so the teaching of IPv6 network becomes more important than ever, but IPv4 network and IPv6 network will coexist for a long time. So according to the coexistence of IPv4 and IPv6 networks, the experiment of IPv6 and IPv4 hybrid network is designed, IPv6 network transparently passes through IPv4 network through 6to4 tunnel, and IPv6 network router communicates through OSPFv3 Routing Protocol. The detailed design, implementation and complete verification of the experiment are given. Through the completion of this experiment, students have mastered the basic theory of IPv6 network, and they are familiar with the tunnel technology across heterogeneous networks, what's more, they can carry out simple IPv6 network design. © 2020 ACM.
