In recent years, support vector machine has become one of the most important classification techniques in pattern recognition, machine learning, and data mining due to its superior classification effect and solid theoretical base. However, its training time will increase dramatically as the number of samples increases, and training will become more sophisticated when dealing with problems involving multiple classifications. A quick training data reduction approach MOIS appropriate for multi-classification tasks is presented as a solution for the aforementioned issues. While eliminating redundant training samples, the boundary samples that play a vital role are chosen in order to considerably reduce training data and the problem of unequal distribution between categories. The experimental results demonstrate that MOIS may maintain or even improve the classification performance of support vector machines while substantially enhancing training efficiency. On the Opt digit dataset, the suggested method improves classification accuracy from 98.94% to 99.05%, while training time is reduced to 15% of the original;in HCL2000, the proposed method improves classification accuracy from 98.94% to 99.05%. When the accuracy rate is marginally increased (from 99.29% to 99.30%) on the first 100 categories dataset, the training time is dramatically reduced to less than 6% of the original. To make predictions on unseen classes, few-shot segmentation becomes a research focus recently. However, most methods build on pixel-level annotation requiring quantity of manual work. Moreover, inherent information on same-category objects to guide segmentation could have large diversity in feature representation due to differences in size, appearance, layout, and so on. To tackle these problems, we present an active-reference network (ARNet) for few-shot segmentation. The proposed active-reference mechanism not only supports accurately co-occurrent objects in either support or query images, but also relaxes high constraint on pixel-level labeling, allowing for weakly boundary labeling. To extract more intrinsic feature representation, a category-modulation module (CMM) is further applied to fuse features extracted from multiple support images, thus forgetting useless and enhancing contributive information. Experiments on PASCAL-5i dataset show the proposed method achieves a m-IOU score of 56.5% for 1-shot and 59.8% for 5-shot segmentation, being 0.5% and 1.3% higher than current state-of-the-art method. © 2021 IEEE

Deep Learning-Enabled ISAC-OTFS Pre-equalization Design for Aerial-Terrestrial Networks

Orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation has been viewed as a promising technique for integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) systems and aerial-terrestrial networks, due to its delay-Doppler domain transmission property and strong Doppler-resistance capability. However, it also suffers from high processing complexity at the receiver. In this work, we propose a novel pre-equalization based ISAC-OTFS transmission framework, where the terrestrial base station (BS) executes pre-equalization based on its estimated channel state information (CSI). In particular, the mean square error of OTFS symbol demodulation and Cramér-Rao lower bound of sensing parameter estimation are derived, and their weighted sum is utilized as the metric for optimizing the pre-equalization matrix. To address the formulated problem while taking the time-varying CSI into consideration, a deep learning enabled channel prediction-based pre-equalization framework is proposed, where a parameter-level channel prediction module is utilized to decouple OTFS channel parameters, and a low-dimensional prediction network is leveraged to correct outdated CSI. A CSI processing module is then used to initialize the input of the pre-equalization module. Finally, a residual-structured deep neural network is cascaded to execute pre-equalization. Simulation results show that under the proposed framework, the demodulation complexity at the receiver as well as the pilot overhead for channel estimation, are significantly reduced, while the symbol detection performance approaches those of conventional minimum mean square error equalization and perfect CSI. High-resolution point clouds (HRPCD) anomaly detection (AD) plays a critical role in precision machining and high-end equipment manufacturing. Despite considerable 3D-AD methods that have been proposed recently, they still cannot meet the requirements of the HRPCD-AD task. There are several challenges: i) It is difficult to directly capture HRPCD information due to large amounts of points at the sample level;ii) The advanced transformer-based methods usually obtain anisotropic features, leading to degradation of the representation;iii) The proportion of abnormal areas is very small, which makes it difficult to characterize. To address these challenges, we propose a novel group-level feature-based network, called Group3AD, which has a significantly efficient representation ability. First, we design an Intercluster Uniformity Network (IUN) to present the mapping of different groups in the feature space as several clusters, and obtain a more uniform distribution between clusters representing different parts of the point clouds in the feature space. Then, an Intracluster Alignment Network (IAN) is designed to encourage groups within the cluster to be distributed tightly in the feature space. In addition, we propose an Adaptive Group-Center Selection (AGCS) based on geometric information to improve the pixel density of potential anomalous regions during inference. The experimental results verify the effectiveness of our proposed Group3AD, which surpasses Reg3D-AD by the margin of 5% in terms of object-level AUROC on Real3D-AD. Natural language in social media is often ambiguous, carrying diverse perspectives that are critical for opinion analysis. With vast amounts of unstructured data, particularly on platforms like Twitter, it is impractical to manually analyse relevant insights. This rapid data growth has highlighted the need for intelligent filtering and mining techniques in decision support systems to help organizations build brand reputation, foster online communities, and enhance profitability. Multi-Emotion detection is key for capturing implicit user opinions and specific emotional states; however, challenges such as text bipolarity, limited representative feature vectors, and inadequate annotated lexicons often hinder accuracy. This research aims to improve multi-emotion detection accuracy by extracting emotion implied tokens and converting them into feature vectors that capture semantic relevance. Using annotated lexicons, word embeddings, unigrams, and term frequency, these vectors are trained across five machine learning models, which are Naïve Bayes (NB), Logistic Regression (LR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), K- nearest neighbor (KNN), and Multi- layer Percepton (MLP). Finally, two ensemble techniques are applied to refine model outputs, achieving an improvement accuracy over previous work worked. The proposed system, evaluated on a real dataset, achieves a hamming score of 0.55 and an average F1 score of 0.68, demonstrating its potential for effective multi-label emotion detection.

Vital sign monitoring plays a very important role in the early diagnosis and prognosis of a disease, as well as for patient health management. Among other vital signs, respiratory rate (RR) is rarely recorded and often forgotten despite the fact that it is an essential predictor of serious events such as cardiac arrest and deteriorating clinical condition. In this paper, we propose a frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar for contactless RR monitoring. We employ FFT to calculate RR in frequency-domain and combine it with Kalman filter to smooth out the estimated RR. We use a public dataset measuring RR from 50 children under 13 years of age recorded with 60 GHz FMCW radar. The experimental results show that the proposed method yields MAE and RMSE of 3.20 and 4.10, respectively, with respect to the reference device. Incorporating Kalman filter reduces the percentage of error by 14.83% and 13.36% compared to without it. The overall results suggest that radar-based technology can be potentially used for contactless RR monitoring which is suitable for those who cannot use contact-based monitoring devices. © 2022 IEEE.

Reinforcement Learning (RL), a method of learning skills through trial-and-error, has been successfully used in many robotics applications in recent years. We combine manipulation primitives (MPs), behavior trees (BTs), and reinforcement learning to propose an algorithm for peg-in-hole tasks, which speeds up the convergence of the RL model and enhance the adaptability of the dynamic environment. Manipulation primitives are used as actions for RL, which can reduce the gap between control instruction and robotic actions and speed up the convergence of the RL model. Behavior trees are used as robot behavior control, which makes robots can actively adapt to the changes in the environment. In experiments, RL-BT, from the combination of RL and BT, is designed for the peg-in-hole task in the Gazebo simulation environment by using UR5 as the actuator. The experiments are conducted on a simple peg and a complex multi-hole peg by three aspects, which include convergence speed verification experiment, adaptability of dynamic environment experiment, and algorithm robustness experiment. The experiment result proves that our RL-BT can speed up the convergence and adapt to the changes in the environment. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, Prioritized Experience Replay (PER) strategy and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) neural network are introduced to the path planning process of mobile robots, which solves the problems of slow convergence and inaccurate perception of dynamic obstacles with the Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (TD3) algorithm. We dubbed this new method as PL-TD3. Firstly, we improve the convergence speed of the algorithm by introducing PER strategy. Secondly, we use LSTM neural network to achieve the improvement of the algorithm for dynamic obstacle perception. In order to verify the method of this paper, we design static environment, dynamic environment and adaptability to dynamic experiments to compare and analyze the methods before and after improvement. The experimental results show that PL-TD3 outperforms TD3 in terms of execution time and execution path length in all environments. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper presents an analysis of a data set to determine the factors influencing airline passenger satisfaction. The study examines various criteria such as gender, customer type, age, travel type, class, and range to assess their impact on passenger satisfaction. The dataset consists of 25 columns, including attributes like Wi-Fi availability, convenience of online booking, seat comfort, in-flight entertainment, baggage handling, and overall satisfaction. The sample is relatively balanced, with equal representation of men and women, predominantly repeat customers, and a majority flying for business purposes. Key findings include a strong correlation between departure and arrival delays, higher satisfaction among passengers in business class, and positive ratings for Wi-Fi service correlating with overall satisfaction. Correlation analysis reveals interdependencies between different attributes, such as the influence of cleanliness on seat comfort and food and beverage ratings. In addition, a neural network forecasting model is used to estimate the average ratings of passengers, although with low accuracy, which was later excluded. Finally, a decision tree algorithm is utilized to identify the most significant attributes affecting passenger satisfaction words. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
