Surface deformation of an object can be measured by digital shearography through non-contact measurement with a simple device. It is always difficult to remove the noise of the speckle interference. Consequently extracting phase from a single fringe pattern without carrier-frequency is complex. Based on gray extremum, an improved method for phase extraction is proposed by using the improved image binarization algorithm in this paper. Through comparing the average value of eight neighbourhood points around each pixel with threshold value, the quality of binary image can be improved, and then the skeleton line can be extracted. Finally a smooth extremum image can be obtained. Experimental results show that the proposed method is simple, convenient and reliable.

Aiming at the problems of registration error and synthetic movement ghost which are caused by moving objects in image mosaicing, a mosaicing algorithm for dynamic scene using multi-scale pyramid histogram of oriented gradients (PHOG) and optimal seam is proposed. Firstly, a new feature, multi-scaled PHOG, is generated by introducing PHOG to multi-scale space corner detections. The feature is used to align images for avoiding the local impact caused by moving objects in image registration. Then, an optimal seam, guaranteeing the minimum difference in geometry and gray value, is searched by graph cut algorithm through constructing an energy function to remove the movement ghost. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is efficient in dealing with the problems of image mosaicing with moving objects, and the mosaicing results are satisfactory with high precision.

The increasing demands on quality of power, emissions and overall performance of combustion engines lay new goals for the hardware and the software development of control systems. High-performance embedded controllers open the possibilities for application of numerical methods to solve the problems of modeling and control of combustion engines. Algorithms for estimation of state and parameters are essential components of many advanced control, monitoring and signal processing engine applications. A widely applicable estimator is given by the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) which defines a finite memory recursive algorithm suited for real-time implementation, where only the last measurement is used to update the state estimate, based on the past history being approximately summarized by the a priori estimate of the state and the error covariance matrix estimate. The proposed EKF uses an augmented air-path state-space model to estimate unmeasurable mass flow quantities. The EKF algorithm based on the augmented state-space model considerably reduces the modeling errors compared to the open loop estimator simulation and compared to the EKF without the augmentation which is demonstrated on a standard production Diesel engine data. The experimental validation of the observed state quantities is performed against the measured pressures and turbocharger speed data. The estimated mass flow quantities are indirectly validated through the air compressor flow that is directly validated against air mass flow sensor data. Two two-sensor setups are considered in this study. In the first experiment the intake manifold pressure and the turbocharger speed is used. The second experiment uses the intake manifold pressure and the exhaust manifold pressure as the measurement information for the EKF. The rapid growth of new information services, especially like new media services, providing content distribution to clients with good quality of service(QoS) while retaining efficient is a great challenge. This paper investigates the QoS-aware replica placement problem (QRPP) for distributed caching system. We propose a dynamic programming algorithm for the problem in general graph, it first ensures the QoS requirement is satisfied of each request, then places the replica along the request forward path to minimize the total cost. The simulation results show the dynamic programming algorithm can achive a good balance between the access latency and the requested availability. When the request is more concentrated, the dynamic programming algorithm can have better performance than the MODULO and LRU both in access latency and requested availability.
