Utilizing the ability simple in application and quick in convergence of quantum delta-potential-well-based particle swarm optimization (QDPSO) algorithm and the high generalization ability of support vector machine (SVM), selecting the appropriate state variables, a dynamic time-varying model has been built. Using the model and algorithm to per-estimate some biochemical state variables which can not be measured on-line, and to optimise some operational variables. It is proved that the method is efficiency through the practical application of penicillin fermentation process.

Wireless sensor networks distributed signal processing has to operate under stringent energy and bandwidth limitations. Usually, the observations need to be quantized before they are sent to fusion center (FC). This paper we introduce a multiple bits distributed moving Horizon state estimation approach based on a multiple state single output Gaussian-Markov model. Each sensor node has a thresholds book, then the sensors quantize their measurements to several bits by using the thresholds book which are sent to fusion center. After receiving these information, fusion center make final estimation for system states. Compared with single bit distributed moving horizon state estimation (DMHE), this method ensures that FC need not to send the estimate information back to sensor nodes and provides higher precision of state estimation.

A distributed state estimation scheme based on quantized observations in wireless sensor network (WSN) is proposed. Unlike the SOI-KF approach, we address the state estimation problem in two steps: firstly, local sensors and the fusion center apply the decentralized estimation scheme (DES) to design the quantized message function and the fusion function; secondly, the fusion center constructs a linear filter to obtain the state estimation by minimizing an upper bound of the error power norm. The optimal filter is computed by the linear matrix inequality (LMI) solver. An example is presented to demonstrate the efficiency of our method.

This paper proposed a novel controlling technique of pulse width modulation (PWM) mode and pulse frequency modulation (PFM) mode to keep the high efficiency within width range of loading. The novel control method is using PWM and PFM detector to achieve two modes switching appropriately. The controlling technique can make the efficiency of current mode DC-DC buck converter up to 88% at light loading and this paper is implemented by TSMC 0.35 mum CMOS process.

A new current sensing circuit with bulk control (CCB) technique is presented in this paper. Compared to several current sensing techniques, there is a trade-off between the sensing accuracy and speed. Thus, the proposed CCB technique can achieve high-speed current sensing without sacrificing much sensing accuracy owing to the improved large loop gain of bulk control and current mirror based technique. Simulation results demonstrate the verification of the design methodology in the current sensing designs.

In the measuring process, some even several sensors expire, but other non-expiration sensor can't affect to provide the information independently. The system can depend on the information by non-expiration sensor providing to get accurate observed value. The paper analyzes the metrical data based on sensor management, and selects a group of sensors according to qualification, and data of the limited measurement by the group multi-sensors were state fusion estimated. The obtaining measurement results are more accurate than arithmetic mean value algorithm. At last eliminates the disturbance and the uncertainty in the sensor survey, and obtains is more accurate, the more reliable measurement result..

This work presents the adaptive synchronization between two different order chaotic systems with unknown parameters. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, a novel adaptive control law and a parameter update rule for unknown parameters are proposed. The proposed scheme can successfully synchronize some typical chaotic systems, such as the hyperchaotic Chen system and the Duffing equation. Numerical Simulation results verify the proposed schemepsilas effectiveness. Furthermore, the estimated values of the parameters are not identical to the real values under our discussions.

Recently there are a lot research works for multimedia communication systems. Especially, the space sharing communication is one of research trends for multimedia communication. By using the space sharing technology, the users feel as they are in the same space, even if they are in different locations. This can be done taking each video image of two remote points into one space. In this paper, we propose a care communication system with space sharing function. The implemented care communication system supports the communication and information sharing among in-patients, family members, doctors and helpers. In the proposed system, we have developed not only integration of two video images but also a warmth transmission function. By using this function, two persons in different locations can transmit their feelings as they are in the same space. We verified the proposed system effectiveness by conducting some experiments.

For the last decade, the need for electric driven vehicle has risen rapidly due to the global warming problem. A high efficient motor need to be developed to replace traditional engine. In this paper, the authors present a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for sensorless brushless dc (BLDC) motor. The proposed FLC is based on the terminal voltage measurement as the sensorless method for BLDC motor control. There are two modules designed in the speed control of BLDC motor, i.e. command and regulating modules. Command module is to find and issue commutation period and PWM duty cycle to the BLDC motor for desired speed. The regulating module is designed by applying a FLC with sensorless technology and is used to regulate the speed of BLDC motor under various disturbances, such as loading effect. Two resistances are adopted to detect the zero-crossing point (ZCP) of back-EMF signal on the unexcited phase instead of using the expensive Hall sensors. The regulating module can regulate accurately and quickly the PWM duty cycle by fuzzy reasoning which makes the BLDC motor rotate smoothly at desired rotation speed even there exists an external disturbance. In order to reduce the computational load of real-time FLC for the microcontroller C8051F330, we can perform the FLC computation off-line to cover nearly all cases. These data will be recorded and organized as a Look-Up Table (LUT). This paper shows that a regulating module designed by FLC is better than a none regulation module or a regulating module with a P controller.

Nonlinear loads produce current harmonics. The harmonic current flowing through the nonzero impedance of the electrical network, produce harmonics in supply voltage. Harmonics in power systems cause many ill effects and economic losses. To minimise the losses, IEEE: 519- 1992 has specified limits on voltage and current harmonics. Inductive loads like induction motors produce lagging power factor of less than unity. Capacitors are often used to improve the power factor by adding them in shunt with inductive loads. When high frequency harmonic currents flow through the network, due to the combination of inductive and capacitive loads (which are linear), resonance occurs. This causes an amplification of harmonics. Consequently, the increased harmonics affect the linear loads and produce more losses. This paper explains the results of harmonics measurements by a class of neural network, ADALINE implemented on a digital signal processor. measurements were carried out when capacitors were grouped in one place and after their relocation nearer to the linear loads. The results show that, relocation of capacitors have minimised both voltage and current harmonics significantly. This methodology is very economical since it does not require any additional equipment for filtering of harmonics.
