In response to the requirements for efficiency and accuracy in segmentation models in autonomous driving scenarios, an improved urban road semantic segmentation algorithm based on the Deep Dual-Resolution Network (DDRNet) has been proposed. Firstly, a Channel Residual Attention Module (CRAM) based on standard attention mechanisms is introduced at the end of two parallel branches of the DDRNet to focus on important channel features. Secondly, the backbone network incorporates Depthwise Over-parameterized Convolution (DO-Conv) to boost feature extraction performance. Finally, a Deep Aggregation Pyramid Pooling Module (DAPPM) with Hybrid Dilated Convolution (HDC) is designed to capture multi-scale feature information, and Group Normalization (GN) is utilized to mitigate the impact of reduced batch size. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a Mean Intersection over Union (MIoU) of 77.0% on the Cityscapes dataset, representing an improvement of 1.1% over the baseline model. Additionally, the segmentation speed reaches 106 Frames Per Second (FPS), achieving an optimal balance between segmentation accuracy and computational efficiency.

It is well established that paper-based separators display short-circuit risk in lithium-ion batteries due to their intrinsic micron-sized *** this research,we have adjusted pore structure of paper by fiber swelling in liquid ***,the paper-based separator is prepared by propionylated sisal fibers through a wet papermaking *** electron microscope(SEM)and multi-range X-ray nano-computed tomography(CT)images display strong swelling of modified fibers after electrolyte absorption,which can effectively decrease the pore size of *** to the high electrolyte uptake(817 wt%),paper-based separator exhibits ionic conductivity of 2.93 mS cm^(-1).^(7)Li solid-state NMR spectroscopy and Gaussian simulation reveal that the formation of local high Li^(+)ion concentration in the separator and its low absorption energy with Li^(+) ion(62.2 kcal mol^(-1))is conducive to the ionic *** particular,the assembled Li/separator/LiFePO_(4) cell displays wide electrochemical stability window(5.2 V)and excellent cycle performance(capacity retention of 96.6%after 100 cycles at 0.5C)due to the reduced side reactions as well as enhanced electrolyte absorption and retention capacity by *** proposed strategy will provide a novel perspective to design high-performance biobased separators to boost the development of clean and sustainable energy economy.

Electricity energy billing system is prevalent in most of the places in the world. Also digitization of these electricity bills has also been successfully implemented in various underdeveloped countries as well. The vast amount of data is available regarding the energy consumption of consumers. In this paper we consider a case study of one city, about which we have electricity energy data for several years. We first classify consumers based on their average energy usage via clustering algorithms. We also have survey data of several houses. In that survey, we have building information, family information and also appliance information. We use various regression techniques to disaggregate the energy usage corresponding to various appliances. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this work, a microwave photonic prototype for concurrent radar detection and spectrum sensing is proposed, designed, built, and investigated. A direct digital synthesizer and an analog electronic circuit are integrated to generate an intermediate frequency (IF) linearly frequency-modulated (LFM) signal with a tunable center frequency from 2.5 to 9.5 GHz and an instantaneous bandwidth of 1 GHz. The IF LFM signal is converted to the optical domain via an intensity modulator and then filtered by a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) to generate only two 2nd-order optical LFM sidebands. In radar detection, the two optical LFM sidebands beat with each other to generate a frequency-and-bandwidth-quadrupled LFM signal, which is used for ranging, radial velocity measurement, and imaging. By changing the center frequency of the IF LFM signal, the radar function can be operated within 8 to 40 GHz. In spectrum sensing, one 2nd-order optical LFM sideband is selected by another FBG, which then works in conjunction with the stimulated Brillouin scattering gain spectrum to map the frequency of the signal under test to time with an instantaneous measurement bandwidth of 2 GHz. By using a frequency shift module to adjust the pump frequency, the frequency measurement range can be adjusted from 0 to 40 GHz. The prototype is comprehensively studied and tested, which is capable of achieving a range resolution of 3.75 cm, a range error of less than ±2 cm, a radial velocity error within ±1 cm/s, delivering clear imaging of multiple small targets, and maintaining a frequency measurement error of less than ±7 MHz and a frequency resolution of better than 20 MHz. Herein, a novel image fusion algorithm based on Laplacian pyramid transform and principal component analysis (PCA) is proposed. In this algorithm, a multi-resolution transform called Laplacian pyramid transform is used to decompose the original image into sub-images. In the transform domain, the coefficients of the various sub-images are combined using a novel fusion rule that utilizes the PCA technique. Finally, the new coefficients are used in the reconstruction of the fused image. Numerical simulations are performed to test the validity and capability of the proposed fusion algorithm. The average gradient values of PCA fusion, Laplacian pyramid fusion, and the proposed fusion method, are tested, respectively. The average gradient values of the proposed method are larger than the other two methods, especially for the spectral bands over 600nm. The three methods performed a bit inferior between the 500nm and 600nm bands compared to the other spectral bands. The Laplacian pyramid transform fusion algorithm seems relatively stable, but it is obvious that the proposed fusion algorithm has a superior performance in the visible range. Moreover, the principal component of the original image was utilized, thus, preserving the spectral information of the hyperspectral image. © 2022 IEEE.

TlBa2Ca2Cu3DyxO8+δ superconductor samples (x = 0–0.075) were prepared by a two-step solid-state reaction technique to investigate the impact of Dy2O3 (dysprosium sesquioxide) addition on the formation and the transport properties of the Tl-1223 phase. The samples were analyzed using X-ray powder diffraction, ac susceptibility, and high-harmonics temperature dependence to study the effects of Dy2O3 on phase formation, superconducting transition temperature Tc, and the intergrain critical current density Jc. XRD results revealed that the prepared samples are nearly single-phases Tl-1223 with a tetragonal structure. Tc is not suppressed as Dy content increased, while Jc increased up to x = 0.025, then decreased with a further increase in x. Our findings show that the presence of dysprosium sesquioxide promotes the high-Tc phase and enhances the transport critical current densities. © I. R. Metskhvarishvili, Melita Menelaou, T. E. Low earth orbit satellite communication systems are attractive for provisioning global, high-speed and low latency Internet access services. In order to achieve global continuous multiple coverage, the number of satellites is tremendous. But Low earth orbit satellite networks are prone to instability due to unpredictable link failures and frequent topology changes. Therefore, in this paper, a novel routing schemes with quick response to link failures is first proposed. Based on Dijkstra algorithm, a scalable routing algorithm is proposed to minimize the end-to-end transmission delay. It takes advantage of the predictable constellation trajectory, and changes dynamically according to the changes of network topology. It provides the shortest routing path and an alternative path simultaneously. When a link failure is detected by one satellite, notification packets will be sent to its neighbors for adjustment to the alternative routing path. Notification packets also will be sent to the head node for the recalculation of routing table. Finally, extensive simulations have been conducted, and the results show that the proposed scheme is able to produce desired performance. © 2022 IEEE.

The URLLC services have high stringent requirements for high reliability and low latency transmission. The TDM-PON based mobile edge computing (MEC) enabled cloud radio access network (CRAN) is an effective architecture to carry the URLLC services. However, how to ensure reliability and low latency requirements meanwhile decrease the deployment cost will be one of the major challenges in the network planning stage. A mathematical model and a heuristic algorithm are proposed to tackle such challenge towards demands of URLLC services. Simulation results suggest that proposed algorithm shows better performance in terms of low latency transmission than the benchmark algorithm, and achieves the near-optimal solution of MILP with an acceptable time complexity. Besides, impact of key parameters on comparison of different approaches in terms of total transmission latency consumption is also evaluated. © 2021 IEEE.

Bangladesh, as a developing nation, faces persistent challenges in satisfying its energy demands, primarily due to its limited natural resource reserves, particularly natural gas. Natural gas is considered a crucial factor in the country's socioeconomic development and serves as the main driving force for its industries and power plants. Nevertheless, its unregulated and extensive utilization poses a threat to the sustainability of all sectors, making it imperative to reduce its consumption. This study focuses on decreasing the consumption of natural gas in the domestic sector by advocating the adoption of induction cooking. In this context, the electrical energy needed for cooking will be derived from the readily accessible rooftop and floating photovoltaic (PV) installations within a particular community. This approach not only satisfies the community's electrical energy requirements but also contributes to mitigating the country's energy crisis to a certain extent. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid development of deep learning, it has been widely applied in fields such as computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics. Despite the superior performance of deep learning in object detection, most industrial vision robots still rely on traditional object detection methods due to computational constraints of robot controllers. In order to improve the performance of object detection for vision robots, a lightweight 3D object detection network based on You Only Look Once version 5 (YOLOv5) is proposed for satisfying industrial production. YOLOv5 work to efficiently object detection using deep convolutional networks. In terms of model deployment, we adopt a novel OpenVINO-based model deployment approach. The OpenVINO framework significantly enhances the inference speed of models by model optimization and compression. Our model achieves a 70% reduction in inference time compared to the baseline model on CPU. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through experiments. © 2023 IEEE.
