The concept of virtual coupling train convoys shows promise for improving railway capacity. This approach typically involves a “leader-follower” control strategy for multiple objects, such as vehicles and drones. In order to allow followers to enter the convoy, the operation status and trajectory of the leader vehicle must be optimized. This paper examines field data collected on Guangzhou Metro Line 22, and the velocity-distance curve shows consistency among the test runs, enabling coupling possibilities. Considering constraints such as safety constraints, train dynamic model constraints, and velocity limitation constraints, when the train operating trajectory expressed by polynomial curves is incorporated into the objective function, the resulting optimization strategy can be solved using quadratic programming methods. With the optimized trajectory by the proposed method, the average acceleration decreased by 0.009 m/s 2 to 0.024 m/s 2 , and the standard deviation decreased by 0.024 m/s 2 to 0.181 m/s 2 , Using the field collected data, the paper simulates train operations under virtual coupling, leader train using the optimized train trajectory, follower train employing the pure pursuit. The correlation coefficient of the velocity time series between the leader train and the follower train is 0.9996. The headway can also be shortened to 193.15 m average and a standard deviation of 6.44 m.

Despite the rapid progress in predicting 2D magnetic second-order topological insulators (SOTIs), effective strategies for manipulating their spin-polarized corner states remain largely unexplored. The interplay between ferroelectricity, chirality, magnetism, and topology presents an untapped opportunity for controlling these corner states. Here, we propose a novel approach for tuning spin-polarized corner states in 2D magnetic SOTIs by inducing ferroelectric chirality in 2D metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with intrinsic structural flexibility. Through symmetry analysis, we strategically replace pyrazine (pyz) ligands with 2-pyrazinolate (2-pyzol) ligands in the 2D MOF Cr(pyz)2, leading to the emergence of a new 2D magnetic SOTI, Cr(2pyzol)2, which facilitates ferroelectric chirality controlled spin-polarized corner states in both spin channels. Through first-principle calculations, we demonstrate that Cr(2-pyzol)2 belongs to ferroelectric chiral systems, and its corner states can be directionally tuned in real space and spin-inverted in spin space upon ferroelectric chirality switching. Our work represents the first attempt to simultaneously manipulate corner states in both real space and spin space, offering a new strategy for integrating ferroelectric chirality into 2D MOF-based magnetic SOTIs. © 2025, CC BY.

This paper deals with the design and implementation of adaptive nonlinear predictive control (NMPC). The resulting control system is deployed on a softPLC embedded target in real-time via the REXYGEN control system. The paper describes functional prototype using softPLC hosting the NMPC algorithm applied for a nonlinear system consisting of three coupled tanks. The NMPC algorithm is solved via the receding horizon control method (RHC), formulated as a nonlinear programming problem (NLP) and numerically computed using the SOLNP solver. The adaptivity is provided by online identification via moving horizon estimation (MHE), keeping the model updated to avoid a model-plant mismatch. The methodology described in this paper can be easily transferred to a wider group of industrial nonlinear processes. Such created control unit can run in a standalone mode or can be connected to some exiting control system providing a necessary computational power and thus upgrading the quality of control significantly.

Federated learning (FL) represents a promising distributed machine learning paradigm that allows smart devices to collaboratively train a shared model via providing local data sets. However, problems considering multiple co-existing FL services and different types of service providers are rarely studied. In this paper, we investigate a multiple FL service trading problem in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-aided networks, where FL service demanders (FLSDs) aim to purchase various data sets from feasible clients (smart devices, e.g., smartphones, smart vehicles), and model aggregation services from UAVs, to fulfill their requirements. An auction-based trading market is established to facilitate the trading among three parties, i.e., FLSDs acting as buyers, distributed located client groups acting as data-sellers, and UAVs acting as UAV-sellers. The proposed auction is formalized as a 0-1 integer programming problem, aiming to maximize the overall buyers' revenue via investigating winner determination and payment rule design. Specifically, since two seller types (data-sellers and UAV-sellers) are considered, an interesting idea integrating seller pair and joint bid is introduced, which turns diverse sellers into virtual seller pairs. Vickrey-Clarke-Groves (VCG)-based, and one-sided matching-based mechanisms are proposed, respectively, where the former achieves the optimal solutions, which, however, is computationally intractable. While the latter can obtain suboptimal solutions that approach to the optimal ones, with low computational complexity, especially upon considering a large number of participants. Significant properties such as truthfulness and individual rationality are comprehensively analyzed for both mechanisms. Extensive experimental results verify the properties and demonstrate that our proposed mechanisms outperform representative methods significantly. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

MIMO technology has been widely used in the telecommunication systems nowadays, and the space-time coding is a key part of MIMO technology. A good coding scheme can exploit the spatial diversity to correct the error which is generated in transmission, and increase the normalized transfer rate with low decoding complexity. On the Basis of the research on different Space-Time Block Codes, this essay proposes a new STBC, Diagonal Block Orthogonal Space-Time Block Code. Then we will compare it with other STBCs in the performance of bit error rate, transfer rate, decoding complexity and peek-to-average power ratio, the final result will prove the superiority of DBOAST.

The Free-piston Stirling generator (FPSG) is an advanced energy-conversion device known for its high thermal efficiency and compatibility with various heat sources. Understanding the piston dynamics and energy distribution characteristics in FPSGs is essential for improving their efficiency and output performance. Moreover, developing an accurate numerical model is crucial for precisely analysing the piston dynamics and energy distribution characteristics in FPSGs. Therefore, this study proposes a comprehensive numerical model integrating nonlinear dynamics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics to investigate the piston dynamics and energy distribution characteristics in the FPSG. The simulation results showed good agreement with experimental data, with a maximum deviation of only 5.3 %. At a temperature difference of 500 K and an initial charge pressure of 3.5 MPa, heat loss accounted for 37.6 %, mechanical loss for 20.8 %, hysteresis loss for 3.0 %, leakage loss for 7.3 %, and generator loss for 3.6 %. When the hot-end temperature increased from 764 K to 864 K, the overall efficiency of the FPSG increased from 24.5 % to 34.3 %. In contrast, the overall efficiency decreased from 30.1 % to 26.4 % as the initial charge pressure increased from 2.5 MPa to 4.5 MPa. Additionally, a higher damping coefficient of the power piston led to reduced overall efficiency.

With the increasing requirements of consumers for vehicle performance, the thermal comfort has become a key index of consumers. The thermal environment inside the passenger compartment directly determines the thermal comfort of vehicle. However, few researchers focused on the effect of the external thermal environment on the internal thermal flow field of a vehicle. In this paper, the thermal comfort of the passenger compartment is analyzed based on Computational Fluid Dynamics. The transient response of the thermal environment of passenger compartment is investigated, and the thermal comfort of the passenger compartment is evaluated based on the PMV/PPD (Predicted Mean Vote/Predicted Percentage Dissatisfied) evaluation index. The changes in the thermal flow field in the vehicle are analyzed for the three cases of 0°, 30° and 60° air supply angles of the air conditioning system, and the effect of the field synergy angle size on the distribution of the flow field in the passenger compartment is analyzed in conjunction with the principle of enhanced heat transfer by field synergy. The results showed that the smaller the field synergy angle, the stronger the heat transfer performance. And the best overall thermal comfort in the passenger compartment at an air supply angle of 30°. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

An Integrated Interframe Stabilization and Fast Imaging Method for Video Synthetic Aperture Radar

Video image stability and imaging efficiency are two main problems in the application of current video synthetic aperture radar (ViSAR) systems. High-resolution millimeter-wave ViSAR imaging is susceptible to interframe drift caused by motion errors, which seriously affects video stability. Image-domain-based registration algorithms would be affected by speckle noise, which causes distortions in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. Moreover, the high aperture overlapped rate in ViSAR results in redundant computations in multiframe imaging. Therefore, how to achieve multiframe fast imaging with high stability is a significant research direction of ViSAR. In this article, a novel integrated method of fast multiframe imaging and stabilization for video SAR is proposed. This approach mainly contains two aspects. First, in order to address video interframe drift compensation, the generating mechanism of drift error is analyzed from the imaging aspect. A gradient function is constructed to accurately estimate motion error by maximizing the correlation between subaperture images. Next, based on accurate frame motion error estimation, a subaperture complex-weighted fast backprojection (SCFBP) algorithm is proposed, which combines the interframe motion error compensation in the signal domain. Simulations and real measured data experiments illustrate that the proposed method effectively improves the interframe stability and accelerates multiframe imaging for video SAR.

Topological orders emerge in both microscopic quantum dynamics and macroscopic materials as a fundamental principle to characterize intricate properties in nature with vital significance, for instance, the Landau levels of electron systems in magnetic field. Whilst, recent advances of synthetic photonic systems enable generalized concepts of Landau levels across fermionic and bosonic systems, extending the modern physical frontier. However, the controls of Landau levels of photons were only confined in complex artificial metamaterials or multifolded cavities. Here, we exploit advanced structured light laser technology and propose the theory of high-dimensional frequency-degeneracy, which enables photonic Landau level control in a linear open laser cavity with simple displacement tuning of intracavity elements. This work not only create novel structured light with new topological effects but also provides broad prospects for Bose-analogue quantum Hall effects and topological physics. Large amplitude and high frequency WOB fluctuation will lead to problems such as low rock breaking efficiency, short service life and slow drilling speed. This problem is particularly prominent in hard and difficult to drill formation and multi interlayer formation. The development of drilling string damping and pressurization device provides an idea for the utilization of vibration energy. Theoretically, the installation of drill string damping and pressurization device can ensure the smooth operation of the bit. However, up to now, the influence of the characteristic parameters and application methods of drill string damping and pressurization device on the WOB fluctuation at the bit is not clear. Based on the drill string dynamics experimental device, the influence of drill string damping and pressurization device on WOB fluctuation at the bit is tested and analyzed. The results show that whether the drill string vibration damping and pressurization device can stabilize the bit WOB is related to its elastic stiffness, installation position, bit speed and WOB;When the WOB remains unchanged, the elastic stiffness of the elastic element of the drill string damping and pressurization device increases, and the fluctuation range of the WOB at the bit increases;Increasing the rotating speed and increasing the WOB is conducive to controlling the WOB fluctuation of the bit. Under the condition of high rotating speed, shortening the distance between the drill string damping and pressurization device and the bit is conducive to restraining the WOB fluctuation. The research results provide a reference for the design, development and application of damping elements of drilling string damping and pressurization device. © 2022, The Authors.
