In the present work, the application of a mixed/hybrid algorithm: grey wolf optimization-pattern search (hyGWO-PS) has been elaborated for automatic generation control (AGC) of three area interconnected hydro-thermal power system. The fractional-order proportional-integral-derivative (FOPID) controller has been incorporated in each area of the investigated power system and controllers’ parameters have been tuned/optimized using the hyGWO-PS algorithm. For this purpose, a constrained control optimization problem has been defined with minimum and maximum ranges of controllers’ parameters in which objective function: integral of time multiplied absolute error (ITAE) is minimized. The application of hyGWO-PS algorithm to tune the controllers’ parameters for the same is abbreviated as hyGWO-PS/FOPID approach. The results carried out using the proposed approach for the investigated system have also been compared with some existing approaches and the results reveal that the proposed approach: hyGWO-PS/FOPID for the aforesaid power system produces the better performance in terms of ITAE, settling times/peak overshoots, number of oscillations and speed of frequency and tie line power deviations while comparing with some other approaches in the literature. The percentage reduction in ITAE, settling times, and overshoots with respect to other techniques have also been evaluated which shows the improvement in aforesaid parameters with respect to other existing techniques. © The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2020.

Background: Ankle is an important bearing joint in the human body. Unreasonable exercise patterns and exercise intensity can cause ankle injuries. This will seriously affect patients’ daily life. With the increase in the number of patients, the labor intensity of doctors is increasing. Ankle rehabilitation robot can help doctors free themselves from repetitive tasks, which is, of more practical value. Objective: To give a general summary of recent ankle rehabilitation robot and introduce the respective characteristics and development including structure type, drive type and rehabilitation training mode. Methods: This paper investigates various representative studies related to the ankle rehabilitation robot. The structure type, drive type, rehabilitation training mode and applications situation of these ankle rehabilitation robot are discussed. Results: The characteristics of different types of ankle rehabilitation robots are analyzed. This paper analyzes the main problems in its development. The solutions to the issues and the current and future research on ankle rehabilitation robot are discussed. Conclusion: The ankle rehabilitation robots are classified into motor drive type, pneumatic artificial muscle and pneumatic cylinder drive type and others. Further improvements are needed in the aspects of mechanical design, safety, virtual reality, brain-computer interface, control strategies and algorithm of bio-syncretic mechanism system of ankle rehabilitation robot. More related patents about ankle rehabilitation robot need to be developed. © 2019 Bentham Science Publishers.

Quantum process tomography is a critical task for characterizing the dynamics of quantum systems and achieving precise quantum control. In this paper, we propose a two-stage solution for both trace-preserving and non-trace-preserving quantum process tomography. Utilizing a tensor structure, our algorithm exhibits a computational complexity of O(MLd2) where d is the dimension of the quantum system and M, L represent the numbers of different input states and measurement operators, respectively. We establish an analytical error upper bound and then design the optimal input states and the optimal measurement operators, which are both based on minimizing the error upper bound and maximizing the robustness characterized by the condition number. Numerical examples and testing on IBM quantum devices are presented to demonstrate the performance and efficiency of our algorithm. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Accurate and lightweight 3D object detection is crucial for the perception ability of mobile intelligent robots. Aiming at the problem that current 3D object detection is difficult to balance lightweight and accuracy, this paper presents a multimodal fusion object detection method, F-ResPoint, based on point cloud culling in vision frustum. F-ResPoint is a lightweight two-stage object detection method, in which the frustum point cloud generation algorithm based on the improved YOLOv5 is used first to obtain the point cloud containing the object information in the view frustum from the point cloud in the original field. Then, the point cloud detection network based on the Residual-SA module is utilized for detecting the three-dimensional (3D) object from point cloud in the view frustum and obtaining its position and actual size of the object in 3D space. Experimental results demonstrate that this method achieves high detection accuracy and maintains good real-time performance while remaining lightweight.

Graph learning-based multi-modal integration and classification is one of the most challenging tasks for disease prediction. To effectively offset the negative impact among modalities in the process of multi-modal integration and heterogeneous information extractions from graphs, we propose a novel method called Multi-modal Multi-Kernel Graph Learning (MMKGL). To solve the problem of negative impact among modalities, we propose a multi-modal graph embedding module to construct a multi-modal graph. Different from conventional methods that manually construct static graphs for all modalities, each modality generates a separate graph by adaptive learning, where a function graph and a supervision graph are introduced for optimization during the multi-graph fusion embedding process. We then propose a multi-kernel graph learning module to extract heterogeneous information from the multi-modal graph. The information in the multi-modal graph at different levels is aggregated by convolutional kernels with different receptive field sizes, followed by generating a cross-kernel discovery tensor for disease prediction. Our method is evaluated on the benchmark Autism Brain Imaging Data Exchange (ABIDE) dataset and outperforms the state-of-the-art methods. In addition, discriminative brain regions associated with autism are identified by our model, providing guidance for the study of autism pathology. With the development of modern industry,more and more power harmonics threaten the safety and stability of power *** at the extremely sparse characteristic of the harmonic signal in the Fourier domain,this paper proposes a method of harmonic signal reconstruction based on compressed sensing,which performs compression sampling on the original harmonic and Interharmonics signals *** show that using the compressed sensing algorithm,for the entire harmonic,the reconstruction error reaches 10 4,and the RSNR is improved by 34.66%.For interharmonics,the reconstruction effect is improved by an order of magnitude over FFT,and the RSNR is improved by 22.15%.And further study the impact of the number of sampling points,sampling frequency and sparsity on the reconstruction of harmonic *** can be seen that the compressed sensing algorithm retains the sparse features of the original signal during the observation process,and as the sampling frequency increases,the reconstruction effect improves *** provides conditions for the next step of feature extraction of harmonic signals.

10kV distribution lines have low lightning withstand level and are easily affected by direct lightning or induced lightning, leading to insulator flashover or even tripping. In order to study the influence of insulated cross arm on the lightning withstand level of 10kV overhead distribution line combined with the actual situation, this paper first built a 10kV distribution line model, carried out lightning impact comparison test of insulated cross arm and iron cross arm, and obtained the lightning impact insulation strength of tower U50% under different cross arm types. Then, the numerical calculation method of lightning induced overvoltage of 10 kV overhead lines is proposed, and the self-defined lightning induced overvoltage calculation model is established by using MODELS language. Combined with the actual situation of 10kV power supply line of an oil transmission station in southern mountainous area, a co-simulation model of direct lightning strike and induced lightning overvoltage of 10kV distribution line was established by using ATP-EMTP, and the improvement effect of insulation cross arm on lightning resistance level was quantitatively analyzed. Finally, the effect of the device to improve the level of mine resistance is verified by the actual operation. The results show that replacing the iron cross arm of the cement tower with the composite insulating cross arm can significantly improve the lightning impulse insulation strength of the tower by U50%, which has the most significant effect on improving the lightning withstand level of the induced lightning of the line, followed by the lightning withstand level of the top of the lightning rod tower, and the lightning withstand level of the lightning stroke line has little improvement. The research results can provide reference for lightning protection design and transformation of distribution lines.

Easy, yet robust long-term localization is still an open topic in research. Existing approaches require either dense maps, expensive sensors, specialized map features or proprietary *** propose using semantic segmentation on a monocular camera to localize directly in a HD map as used for automated driving. This combines lightweight, yet powerful HD maps with the simplicity of monocular vision and the flexibility of neural *** major challenges arising from this combination are data association and robustness against misdetections. Association is solved efficiently by applying distance transform on binary per-class images. This provides not only a fast lookup table for a smooth gradient as needed for pose-graph optimization, but also dynamic association by default.A sliding-window pose graph optimization combines single image detections with vehicle odometry, smoothing results and helping overcome even misclassifications in consecutive *** against a highly accurate 6D visual localization shows that our approach can achieve accuracy levels as required for automated driving, being one of the most lightweight and flexible methods to do so.

3D object detection serves as a crucial basis of visual perception, motion prediction, and planning for automated driving. To apply an algorithm for this purpose, the detection of all types of road users in real-time is an essential condition. In this paper, we propose an approach that projects the 3D points of image-based bounding box proposals into so-called grid map patches. These patches are used to estimate the exact dimensions of the 3D box with the help of a lightweight CNN. The complete proposed processing chain is parallelized and implemented on a GPU. This makes our approach the fastest stereo-based 3D object detector on the KITTI benchmark while still achieving results that are within the range of the best image-based algorithms.
