For the last two decades,physicians and clinical experts have used a single imaging modality to identify the normal and abnormal structure of the human ***,most of the time,medical experts are unable to accurately analyze and examine the information from a single imaging modality due to the limited *** overcome this problem,a multimodal approach is adopted to increase the qualitative and quantitative medical information which helps the doctors to easily diagnose diseases in their early *** the proposed method,a Multi-resolution Rigid Registration(MRR)technique is used for multimodal image registration while Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT)along with Principal Component Averaging(PCAv)is utilized for image *** proposed MRR method provides more accurate results as compared with Single Rigid Registration(SRR),while the proposed DWT-PCAv fusion process adds-on more constructive information with less computational *** proposed method is tested on CT and MRI brain imaging modalities of the HARVARD *** fusion results of the proposed method are compared with the existing fusion *** quality assessment metrics such as Mutual Information(MI),Normalize Crosscorrelation(NCC)and Feature Mutual Information(FMI)are computed for statistical comparison of the proposed *** proposed methodology provides more accurate results,better image quality and valuable information for medical diagnoses.

Cloud Model is a well-known model of the uncertainty transition between a linguistic term of a qualitative concept and its numerical representation. Samples to be classified generally contain many features. Different features have different importance, which are often classified by weights. For the same category, feature vectors were mapped into clouds. With different numerical characters of the clouds, we could get the cloud similarities and feature weights. The testing samples' contribution to a certain class was measured by the certainty degree of Cloud Model. We proposed a new classification algorithm based on Could Model. Experiments show that such an approach could achieve a better or at least a comparable classification accuracy with other algorithms. © 2009 IEEE.

The performance of 802.11 wireless networks are affected by load balancing feature. 2.4GHz devices are more as compared to the devices which supports both the bands. Band steering is a technique which steers a device supporting dual bands to 5GHz band by which the load balancing is achieved at the access point. But the dual band devices are increasing day by day leading to a misbalance of the load at the AP. So, the simple band steering is not helpful for load balancing purpose. Therefore, a new solution is proposed for the purpose of steering the clients by considering the average bandwidth consumption by the client during an active session and estimation of the total load on both of the radios of access point. The proposed algorithm ensures that users are being associated to the most capable radio an AP which will improve the throughput and performance of the wireless network. © 2019 IEEE.

Despite the efforts to narrow the gap between software engineering learning and the need for practice in the software industry, beginners often find it difficult to match their academic skills with professional life practices. Therefore, there is an urgent need to know the best ways to provide students with the practical experiences they need to build professional competencies in the field of software engineering. This research aims to evaluate the extent to which students can employ software engineering concepts and apply them to their graduation projects. Besides, this study seeks to shed light on the methods used in teaching software engineering courses at the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Benghazi, to improve them. To achieve this goal, we conducted a study spanning two semesters. The study includes a questionnaire to collect the answers of 74 university students studying in their final semester in the software engineering Department and working on their graduation project. We analyzed the results with responses from 30 students. The results show that students have some necessary skills that prepare them for future work in software engineering. The results also showed that there is a gap among students between the concepts they received and their practical application in their graduation projects. Some guidelines are presented that may contribute to improving the educational environment for teaching software engineering. © 2024 IEEE.

Utility companies like industries, and manufacturing plants interact or transmit the requirements with consumers through the electrical grids. These electrical grids have been advanced using digital technology for controlling, securing and monitoring. The recent development of smart grids also raises the concern of being compromised by unauthorized users which leads to serious data breaches. The proposed research work in this paper is based on federated learning that helps the smart grid system to enhance its security. The model states the use of local trainings of multiple devices such as smart meters, communication networks, internet of things devices for safeguarding the privacy data and, Global training at every sub-station or the computing point to help the local devices address the malwares, cyber-attacks easily. The model can continuously improve its ability to detect attacks based on the real-time data collected from multiple IoT devices. This would enable the smart grid system to get resistant to cyber-attacks and failures. Federated Stochastic Gradient Descent (FSGD) model is proposed with reconnaissance attack dataset for enhancing the global learning of the model and that strengthens the privacy and trust on the proposed model. © 2024 IEEE.

A novel cross-layer management mechanism for ad hoc network

In this paper, we present a novel Ad hoc network management mechanism UANM to provide unified management functionalities for nodes in an Ad hoc network. UANM adopts a cross layer cooperating management scheme to coordinate the pertinent behaviors of routing and application layer modules. It employs manager and agent model as SNMP. Nevertheless, when manager node needs to send management data packets to agent nodes and there is no available communication route, it will send out the management data packets in the process of route discovery. Thus manager node can finish part of the management work with much less delay and there will be significant energy consumption reduction for the nodes that are involved in the related communications. The simulation results verified the efficiency of UANM.

Based on research on currently prevalent WEB application project attributes and analysis on the influence factors on development effort of the project, an estimation methodology based on page is present, in which, when the user WEB pages DEMO developed after requirements development, project effort can be estimated by evaluating pages' complexity and corresponding team productivity which can be obtained by referring to historical data in organization measurement analysis repository. Instance shows that the method is practical and facile with a comparative high precision and is visual and helpful for project planning and controlling. ©2010 IEEE.

Apps are attracting more and more attention from both mobile and web platforms. Due to the self-organized nature of the current app marketplaces, the descriptions of apps are not formally written and contain a lot of noisy words and sentences. Thus, for most of the apps, the functions of them are not well documented and thus cannot be captured by app search engines easily. In this paper, we study the problem of inferring the real functions of an app by identifying the most informative words in its description. In order to utilize and integrate the diverse information of the app corpus in a proper way, we propose a probabilistic topic model to discover the latent data structure of the app corpus. The outputs of the topic model are further used to identify the function of an app and its most informative words. We verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods through extensive experiments on two real app datasets crawled from Google Play and Windows Phone Store, respectively.

The stratigraphic correlation of well logs plays an essential role in characterizing subsurface ***,it suffers from a small amount of training data and expensive computing *** this work,we propose the Attention Based Dense Network(ASDNet)for the stratigraphic correlation of well *** implement the suggested model,we first employ the attention mechanism to the input well logs,which can effectively generate the weighted well logs to serve for further feature ***,the DenseNet is utilized to achieve good feature reuse and avoid gradient *** model training,we employ the ASDNet to the testing data set and evaluate its performance based on the well log data set from Northwest ***,the numerical results demonstrate that the suggested ASDNet provides higher prediction accuracy for automated stratigraphic correlation of well logs than state-of-the-art contrastive UNet and SegNet.

Insertion is one of the basic operations in DNA computing. Based on this operation, an evolutionary computation model, the insertion system, was defined. For the above defined evolutionary computation model, varying levels of ambiguity and basic descriptional complexity measures were defined. In this paper, we define twelve new (descriptional) complexity measures based on the integral parts of the derivation, such as axioms, strings to be inserted, and contexts used in the insertion rules. Later, we analyze the trade-off among the (newly defined) complexity measures and the existing ambiguity levels. Finally, we examine the application of the analyzed trade-off in natural languages and modelling of bio-molecular structures. © 2013 IEEE.
