Performing an object detection task after the restoration of a hazy image, or rather detecting with the network backbone directly, will result in the inclusion of information mixed with dehazing, which tends to interfere with detection performance. To address these issues, we propose a novel framework for detecting objects in dehazed images via Dual Cross-Stage Partial Learning (DCSP). Specifically, we introduce a Cross-Stage Partial (CSP) module for extracting clean feature information after dehazing. Secondly, to enhance data integrity, we employ a skip-input strategy to supplement information related to object detection features that may be lost during the dehazing task, while avoiding the gradient vanishing problem. In addition, CSP is also introduced to facilitate comprehensive learning of multiple feature representations. Finally, to avoid the inclusion of irrelevant dehazing information in detection, we apply a Ground-Truth Flow at detection network (at dark3), for fine feature information calibration. Additionally, we created a synthetic fog dataset to expand the training data for DCSP. Experimental results on both synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method. The code is available at https://***/zhaojinbiao/DCSP. © 2024 IEEE.

Agile development aims at rapidly developing software while embracing the continuous evolution of user requirements along the whole development *** stories are the primary means of requirements collection and elicitation in the agile development.A project can involve a large amount of user stories,which should be clustered into different groups based on their functionality’s similarity for systematic requirements analysis,effective mapping to developed features,and efficient ***,the current user story clustering is mainly conducted in a manual manner,which is time-consuming and subjective to human *** this paper,we propose a novel approach for clustering the user stories automatically on the basis of natural language ***,the sentence patterns of each component in a user story are first analysed and determined such that the critical structure in the representative tasks can be automatically extracted based on the user story *** similarity of user stories is calculated,which can be used to generate the connected graph as the basis of automatic user story *** evaluate the approach based on thirteen datasets,compared against ten baseline *** results show that our clustering approach has higher accuracy,recall rate and F1-score than these *** is demonstrated that the proposed approach can significantly improve the efficacy of user story clustering and thus enhance the overall performance of agile *** study also highlights promising research directions for more accurate requirements elicitation.

Early and accurate detection of anomalous events on the freeway, such as accidents, can improve emergency response and clearance. However, existing delays and mistakes from manual crash reporting records make it a difficult problem to solve. Current large-scale freeway traffic datasets are not designed for anomaly detection and ignore these challenges. In this paper, we introduce the first large-scale lane-level freeway traffic dataset for anomaly detection. Our dataset consists of a month of weekday radar detection sensor data collected in 4 lanes along an 18-mile stretch of Interstate 24 heading toward Nashville, TN, comprising over 3.7 million sensor measurements. We also collect official crash reports from the Tennessee department of Transportation Traffic Management Center and manually label all other potential anomalies in the dataset. To show the potential for our dataset to be used in future machine learning and traffic research, we benchmark numerous deep learning anomaly detection models on our dataset. We find that unsupervised graph neural network autoencoders are a promising solution for this problem and that ignoring spatial relationships leads to decreased performance. We demonstrate that our methods can reduce reporting delays by over 10 minutes on average while detecting 75% of crashes. Efficient energy management is a cornerstone of advancing cognitive cities,where AI,IoT,and cloud computing seamlessly integrate to meet escalating global energy *** this context,the ability to forecast electricity consumption with precision is vital,particularly in residential settings where usage patterns are highly variable and *** study presents an innovative approach to energy consumption forecasting using a bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)*** a dataset containing over twomillionmultivariate,time-series observations collected froma single household over nearly four years,ourmodel addresses the limitations of traditional time-series forecasting methods,which often struggle with temporal dependencies and non-linear *** bidirectional LSTM architecture processes data in both forward and backward directions,capturing past and future contexts at each time step,whereas existing unidirectional LSTMs consider only a single temporal *** design,combined with dropout regularization,leads to a 20.6%reduction in RMSE and an 18.8%improvement in MAE over conventional unidirectional LSTMs,demonstrating a substantial enhancement in prediction accuracy and *** to existing models—including SVM,Random Forest,MLP,ANN,and CNN—the proposed model achieves the lowest MAE of 0.0831 and RMSE of 0.2213 during testing,significantly outperforming these *** results highlight the model’s superior ability to navigate the complexities of energy usage patterns,reinforcing its potential application in AI-driven IoT and cloud-enabled energy management systems for cognitive *** integrating advanced machine learning techniqueswith IoT and cloud infrastructure,this research contributes to the development of intelligent,sustainable urban environments.

Federated learning has been used extensively in business inno-vation scenarios in various *** research adopts the federated learning approach for the first time to address the issue of bank-enterprise information asymmetry in the credit assessment ***,this research designs a credit risk assessment model based on federated learning and feature selection for micro and small enterprises(MSEs)using multi-dimensional enterprise data and multi-perspective enterprise *** proposed model includes four main processes:namely encrypted entity alignment,hybrid feature selection,secure multi-party computation,and global model ***,a two-step feature selection algorithm based on wrapper and filter is designed to construct the optimal feature set in multi-source heterogeneous data,which can provide excellent accuracy and *** addition,a local update screening strategy is proposed to select trustworthy model parameters for aggregation each time to ensure the quality of the global *** results of the study show that the model error rate is reduced by 6.22%and the recall rate is improved by 11.03%compared to the algorithms commonly used in credit risk research,significantly improving the ability to identify ***,the business operations of commercial banks are used to confirm the potential of the proposed model for real-world implementation.

Underwater wireless sensor networks(UWSNs)rely on data aggregation to streamline routing operations by merging information at intermediate nodes before transmitting it to the ***,many existing data aggregation techniques are designed exclusively for static networks and fail to reflect the dynamic nature of underwater ***,conventional multi-hop data gathering techniques often lead to energy depletion problems near the sink,commonly known as the energy hole ***,cluster-based aggregation methods face significant challenges such as cluster head(CH)failures and collisions within clusters that degrade overall network *** address these limitations,this paper introduces an innovative framework,the Cluster-based Data Aggregation using Fuzzy Decision Model(CDAFDM),tailored for mobile *** proposed method has four main phases:clustering,CH selection,data aggregation,and *** CH selection,a fuzzy decision model is utilized to ensure efficient cluster head selection based on parameters such as residual energy,distance to the sink,and data delivery likelihood,enhancing network stability and energy *** the aggregation phase,CHs transmit a single,consolidated set of non-redundant data to the base station(BS),thereby reducing data duplication and saving *** adapt to the changing network topology,the re-clustering phase periodically updates cluster formations and reselects *** results show that CDAFDM outperforms current protocols such as CAPTAIN(Collection Algorithm for underwater oPTical-AcoustIc sensor Networks),EDDG(Event-Driven Data Gathering),and DCBMEC(Data Collection Based on Mobile Edge Computing)with a packet delivery ratio increase of up to 4%,an energy consumption reduction of 18%,and a data collection latency reduction of 52%.These findings highlight the framework’s potential for reliable and energy-efficient data aggregation mobile UWSNs.

Skin diseases has been a significant challenge in healthcare, necessitating accurate and timely diagnosis for effective treatment. This paper presents research on the use of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for the categorization of skin illnesses. CNNs are a viable tool for automated skin disease detection since they successfully leverage the deep learning capabilities in image-based tasks. The research begins with a detailed review of existing methodologies and datasets in the domain of skin disease classification. Subsequently, we propose a novel CNN architecture tailored to address the unique challenges posed by dermatological images, such as variability in lesion size, color, and texture. The proposed model is trained and evaluated on a diverse and extensive dataset, ensuring its robustness and generalization capabilities across various skin conditions. The study delves into the interpretability of the CNN model, providing insights into the features learned during the training process. This analysis contributes to the understanding of how deep learning models make decisions in the context of dermatological diagnosis, enhancing the trustworthiness and acceptance of such automated systems in clinical settings. Furthermore, the paper investigates the impact of data augmentation techniques on model performance, addressing the scarcity of labeled dermatological datasets. By increasing the training data, we explore strategies to improve the model's ability to generalize to unseen cases, thereby enhancing its practical utility. Experimental results are presented and compared with state-of-the-art approaches, proving the viability of the suggested CNN architecture. © 2024 IEEE.

In contemporary times, nations like Sri Lanka are actively enhancing their efforts to improve the life expectancy of their citizens, with a strong focus on public health. The relationship between health and life expectancy is pivotal. Poor health conditions tend to diminish life expectancy, while robust health measures tend to extend it. Within the context of health, birth and death events are of paramount importance. Birth represents the genesis of life, enabling individuals to contribute to future generations and the overall population's expansion. It's the cornerstone of life on our planet. However, modern times have witnessed challenges in pregnancy and childbirth, with some infants not surviving the prenatal period or being born with health complications. Consequently, there is a pressing need to present a solution that can contribute to the betterment of maternal and infant health, ultimately augmenting Sri Lanka's life expectancy. The proposed solution is the development of a mobile application, encompassing features such as a Nutrition Predictor, Medicine Effect Predictor, AI chatbot, and Baby Status Predictor. This innovative application aims to address the complex issues surrounding pregnancy and childbirth, with the overarching goal of improving the nation's life expectancy. © 2024 IEEE.

A Niching Regression Adaptive Memetic Algorithm for Multimodal Optimization of the Euclidean Traveling Salesman Problem

The traveling salesman problem (TSP) has been studied for many years. In particular, the multimodal optimization of the TSP is important for practical applications, because decision-makers can select the best candidate based on current conditions and requirements. In the Euclidean TSP, there are n points in R^d space with Euclidean distance between any two points, that is, d(x, y) =||x-y||_2. The goal is to find a tour of minimum length visiting each point. In this article, we only focus on the case that d=2. Recently, in order to efficiently handle the multimodal optimization of the TSP, some methods have been developed to deal with it. Nevertheless, these methods usually perform poorly for large-scale cases. In this article, we propose a niching regression adaptive memetic algorithm (MA) to handle the multimodal optimization of the Euclidean TSP. We use the MA as the baseline algorithm and incorporate the neighborhood strategy to maintain the population diversity. In addition, we design a novel regression partition initialization and adaptive parameter control to enhance our algorithm, and propose the concept of the redundant individual to improve the search efficiency. To validate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we comprehensively conduct experiments on the multimodal optimization of TSP benchmark and the well-known TSPLIB library. The experimental results reveal that the proposed method outperforms other methods, especially for large-scale cases. © 1997-2012 IEEE.
